Great adaptation! There appears to be enough play to allow water to seep through but a cap would keep debris out in a place where tree leaves and seeds are prolific. Happy welding!

Awesome job, you're very proficient with the TIG now. The lock design is nice. I like that the cylinder is at the bottom. That's the weakest link unfortunately. That will definitely defend against the average thief!

Thanks Steel, all the practice has helped a lot. There will always be something new to learn or improve on but it's nice to be able to build some use-full items. I'm pleased how this locking bar came out. Thanks for watching!

How about how to secure a green house made of some type of plastic or fiberglass. Can’t figure out how without making holes in it.

I don't know how you would attach a security device without drilling some holes. You could do an electronic eye (motion detector) alarm, solar powered security light or something along those lines so you'll be alerted if someone enters the green house.

Couldn’t see, do you have a drain hole on the upper tube?

No drain hole other than the hole for the locking pin. I live in a high desert and we don't get much precipitation here. I am tossing around some ideas for a cap of some sort for the upper tube. Good idea though, maybe a simple drain hole would be the best solution.
