Here is a good Security tip. Don't buy masterlock products. An 8yr old with a beginners pick kit can defeat the lock in under 1 minute. Also buy a chain that a set of 12 inch bolt cutters cannot cut

Thank you for saving the best tip until last. I am interested in buying a shed and wanted windows for natural light, however the security issue with crooks breaking in through the window had been bugging me. Then I watched this and inside shutters is the answer! Thank you!!

Very fortunate he lives in a good neighborhood....
Then gives two examples of home break-ins not a stones throw away.
Are you sure you live in a good neighborhood?

I find that a Mk. I British Army grenade rigged between door and window tends to have the desired effect. Of course, it means you have to rebuild your shed, but it keeps fifty other people's sheds safe. As the Arabs say, theft is rarely a crime committed by people with no hands.

If you did this, you would be charged for it. I know its stupid but its also illegal.

Some great ideas, great video. Especially the point about locking up the bolt cutters. There's some other items I'd also make sure are locked up so they can't use your own tools to defeat your security... Blow torch/cutting torch, hand held grinder, hand held power saw, jigsaw, reciprocating saw, etc.
It may be hard or even near impossible to cut a hardened steel lock with a jig saw, but take into consideration the weakest point... the chain, or the bracket itself, or even the bench leg could be easily cut with some of these tools.

hi there ... thank you for your idea's ... I got an idea and would like to share
    items needed ..
    micro switch
    2 core wire
lock and key from an old locker door
    small 12v battery
    car horn
    solar panel
I've wired it in a way that the lock and key is behind a false wooden panel , this is the main on off for the alarm
anyone that tries to get into my garage or sheds will set off the horn ...even if they cut the power it's still live ...

I'm confused. If you can only open this from the inside how does it work for a shed? You have to lock a shed from the outside, unless you barricade yourself in

Good ideas, but may we ask you put carpet on your work site and / or not talk while banging items. makes the video hard on the ears when your modulation is so low VS the noise.

Nice , but I bet you spend 3 hrs getting in your shed and unlocking everything and 3 hrs getting out
