    Nice vids! Is it my imagination but shifting from 3rd to 4th gear seems to react consistently slower compared to any other besides 1st to 2nd gear which takes ages! Does it depend on how hard are you stepping on the gas? I. E., harder accelerations traduces into faster reaction of the paddles?

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  3 года назад +2

      I have definitely noticed the 1-2 shift delay with paddle shifters, but 3-4 seems to be especially if you're giving it proper gas. I would have to check again, maybe you are correct that it's a bit slower! But driving it around it doesn't feel slow, whereas 1-2 shift you can easily tell and kind of takes away from the fun

    They have a slight delay in time when using the paddles at least when driving normal. When using the paddles and going Full throttle do you get the same delay?

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  4 года назад

      You are correct that partial throttle has slight delay. Full throttle works just fine. I normally use it to just hold a gear but if I was racing or something I’d probably won’t use it due to delay

  • @santosmauricio13
    @santosmauricio13 4 года назад +10

    If you want to roll race while in "Sport Mode" and in "D" (not S) and you use the paddle shifters to downshift to the best gear with the right RPMS, do you have to upshift once you floor it or will it automatically upshift for you as a "safety" feature?

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  4 года назад +2

      If you have it Sport + and as long as the shifter is in D not S. I believe you are correct you can drop to desired gear for racing but it can shift for you once redline hits. I’d recommend letting the car do shifting without touching paddle. But if you do use paddle the shift by yourself. Reason I say this is computer may take sec or so to see if you’d shift and that delay would neglect any time you saved by dropping the gear

    • @santosmauricio13
      @santosmauricio13 4 года назад +1

      @@Red5oh yeah, I see what you mean. The only reason I do it is to drop to the best gear to prevent a bad start. I just got my car, so I'm trying to get used to its features. I recently found out that if you give it a good floor on the gas pedal, then it'll drop to the lowest gear possible and hold it there for a second or two so you can take off on that gear

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  4 года назад +2

      santosmauricio13 yeah that could work too. You can try what I tend to do. I’d leave the car in S or Sport + and will brake with decent push to allow it to engine brake. This drops to lowest gear depending on brake pressure applied. Then it will the gear for few secs instead of shifting right away so that can be your starting point

    I been driving for like a month now and I accelerated to like 110+ plus downshifting cus that’s how it went faster but I didn’t know what I was doing. I did it like maybe 10 times total and I got the v6 2016 mustang. Does this mess up the engine

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  4 года назад

      It won’t mess up the engine. If you have a 2016 V6 mustang automatic you have 6 gears and a redline of 6500 rpm I want to say. So as long as rpms remain below 6500 when you downshift you are fine.

  • @karacan23
    @karacan23 2 года назад +4

    Can you hold the downshift down for couple seconds for the transmission to select perfect rpm to launch on the go just like the mopars or no?
    In any mopar preferably in auto mode that way it shifts at perfect time. You hold the left pad( downshift) for 1-2 seconds while rolling it automatically finds the best gear and then you can gun it since you’re in Auto it shifts for you rest of the way

    • @Red5oh
