  • I have had my 2019 Mustang GT for over 4 years with around 40k miles. I bought my 2019 Mustang GT brand new so having owned the car for 4 years I have thoughts on how the mustang has been to me. In my 4 year ownership review of my mustang, I cover all the issues I have experienced with my Mustang GT.
    Have the 4 years of ownership of the Mustang been trouble free or do I regret my purchase? We cover these in the 4 year review of the mustang. This long term review will help out potential buyers who are in the market to buy Mustang.

    I drove the 2024 the other day and fell in love with it. I am looking at reliability videos to see if its worth it but most videos saying they have issues with the car is usually ppl who has done mods to the car so it makes me wonder
    As for the paint issues,I had a GR86 rock chips peeled paint away pretty fast so that looks like a modern day paint thing

    • @brolyvi1211
      @brolyvi1211 6 дней назад

      Yup, modern paint is horrible. Ford paints are better than 2020 model yrs of vw, toyota, mazda, and subaru.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  5 дней назад +1

      Yeah ost manufacturers have been going with thinner paint to save on cost. Aside from that I would say my car has been pretty reliable. Having owned an S197 GT with no issues, I have no issues believing this will last pretty long too

    I had a 2020 eco-boost convertible. The 10 speed automatic was a mess. Very harsh shifts, and sometimes when I put it in reverse in the morning it felt like somebody hit the car. The Ford dealer flashed the transmission a couple of times and it would behave for a few days, and then right back to its bad habits. Due to this and other issues, I dumped the thing quickly. I doubt Ford ever gets another dollar from me. Beautiful cars, but the quality just sucks.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  14 дней назад

      Yeah the 10 speed is definitely quirky as I have issues with mine. I had couple different rental ecoboost that did the exact same thing when shifting to drive or reverse, it would shake the entire car!

    Great video. I have a '21, only issue I notice with the 10R80 is normal mode... It does not downshift sometimes at really low revs so I just drive it in Sport+.

    I've been coming across your videos for years. I really like your content since I have the Mustang GT. I have a question and I will be very grateful if you find time to answer it. I have GT automatic PP1 US version.
    1. In Sport+ mode, do you experience significant jerks during dynamic acceleration? Same when slowing down when downshifting 4, 3, 2 are quite unpleasant. Apparently this is typical for 10R80. I've already had the software tuned and the oil changed with a good level, but I still feel unsatisfied, even though it's already good. "D" mode or while using the paddle shifters it works fantastic.
    2. So far I have only had contact with European versions. When we turn on the ignition, we can easily press the brake pedal and press the engine start button and the car starts. On the other hand, in my American version I cannot turn on the engine with the ignition already on. Only after entering the car I can turn on the engine, only when I press the brake and start button, or vice versa, by holding the start button and then pressing the brake. In my version, when I have the ignition ON and I will press the brake pedal and than press the start button, the car turns off 😸 My tuner said that this is quite common in some mustangs with automatic transmission from the USA.

      same here sport+ is really unpleasant

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  5 дней назад

      Thank you for watching my videos and support the channel!
      1)Sport+ mode for me is not harsh just a bit aggressive. It was harsh for a little bit but then the dealer updated the software and its been fine since then. I would see if dealer can update the software for you.
      2)mine turns on without a problem just by pressing the brake and pressing the power button

    i notice the newer front lips are larger as one these days, and not so much double chin. gives it a much more factory look. but it depends on what you want. the Mach 1 performance/track is an attractive lip option.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  14 дней назад +1

      I basically want the Mach 1 splitter but no one makes it aftermarket unless you get the bumper swap. PP2 replica are widely available but not too sold on the look

    10 speed auto, when cold start n rpm is over 1000 n if you put in reverse, she will jerk hard. She needs to warm up to under 1000 rpm n it will be smooth. 2020 eco here. Bought 2 months back at 15k miles. I'm at 22k now. Fun to drive but problems galore. Got a rock chip n in one day, split to 12 inches. Next day, split to 22 inches. I have bumper to bumper warranty so nut sure if it'll cover cracks plus not sure if my insurance covers new windshield as well. Seat squeaks if move closer to the steering wheel. Previous owner was a lease hence why the low mileage but the adaptive learning transmission is spec to the previous owner driving habits. I will need to reset that n possible ECU software upgrade. Once again, not sure if ford warranty will cover that tab. Stock tires half life n already alignment wear plus the womp whomp whomp sound coming from them tires. Got 4 new tires $250 each plus life time alignment n now no more sound. Had her first oil change with me n it's 5.7 quarts. They only sell 5 quarts gallon so need to buy an extra quart at non oil package deal pricing which is a hassle. Test drove it in 87 n 89 octane and noticed the 89 octane hold 80mph as cruising speed better. Going up steep hill, if I don't put much effort to the pedal, she would just stayed at one gear n like she's coughing going up them hills. Driving her like you are babysitting the pedal, she will not go for you. It just like hard exceleration just to move her. I can't take her in too often to complain because ford charges me $199 off the bath for diagnostic but if they find the problem, the warranty will cover the $199 n I'm still out $100 for the deductible.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  14 дней назад

      Yeah I have the seat issue too and it's pretty annoying! Since yours is 2020 it should be covered and Ford should not be charging for diagnostics especially if the issue is present like the transmission. For cracks and rock chip your insurance may but ford warranty won't. Try putting 93 octane and you will see improvement. I have rented few eco and 87 vs 93 makes a difference on these cars!

      @@Baeza_5.0 yeah that’s exactly what I’m torn between. Mine is a daily so I’d appreciate the car driving like normal until boost but I feel like it would be less fun unlike whipple. @Baeza_5.0 13 дней назад

      @@Red5oh ess is still fun, just downshift it and boom youre in boost. if you dont have the money then ess, if you want OEM finish and fit and maybe reliability then whipple. ess hasnt given me any problems though besides that pesky p061a code, but im sure that has more to do with the 10r80 not the kit. heating issues shouldnt be an issues with the stage 2 whipple kit, comes with upgraded intercooler and heat exchanger
