Out of all the RUclipsrs doing this, you guys are the only ones that are actually saving them, most people just film then walk away. This is more special.
They are definitely worth saving, if only for the parts. Having restored a few cars myself, obtaining a complete donor that’s beyond repair for all the little bits of trim is invaluable. The bits I didn’t use, all ended up with other restorers. And also the scrapman loves me for bringing him very clean stripped out remains. Everbody happy.
I have old video footage of the Skoda taking part in a Production Car Trial in 2001. This explains the Eastern Counties Motor Club decal in the front window.
In the last video I said the mystery car may be a Saab but, and I promise this is true, I later thought it must be an old Skoda but I didn't know which one. I am not sure if it will be of any value to someone but the Skoda lovers will know. The triumph 1300 looks a bit sad but they tended to rot back in the day as did many cars of that era. The ADO16 MG 1100 would be worth saving for parts at the very least, the grill and even the engine. A good one could cost you 10K. I must say hello to Josh, well done for helping Mum And Dad. Elton, Land Rovers are designed to be worked on 'in the bush'. 😁 Thank you Claire and Elton for this interesting video. 👍👍
Good night Claira and elton and Jose I hope you are all well and enjoying your adventures finding old cars hidden in the headges I uzrd to own a skoda with a vinal roof and allo wheels it was fun to drive I think you are all amazing what you all do for us on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm please keep your videos going on your you tube channel I love watching your videos of you and your adventures founding oid barn finds and old cars an vans
Great video. Every car there is worth saving, even if the car is too rotten to be restored it can still have vital spares on it for anyone restoring a car.
Hiya Josh,Claire and Elton cool video more great finds in the field of dreams ❤ looking fwd to watching the auction and seeing all the cars that you can save ❤
Thank you Marcia for your lovely comment. We are having so much fun on this one. I don’t want it to end, although when we finished filming we found three more cars! Maybe it will never end 😂 Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Wow I would like to know the story behind all this find. Surely some of these are beyond saving. Elton, you're saying Claire would give out to you, surely not😁😄. Anyway that's serious dedication from you 2 (3 ☺) ...well done, hard graft.
That field would have been my first choce for a week's camping holiday. What a place! Hope you get the Triumph out, could be nice. The MG 1100 is a 1965 by my reckoning. The split across 2 years only started in 1967 (E reg was Jan-Jul 1967, then F started from Aug 67 to Jul 68).
To quote another YT'er. That Suzuki Swift? "Much Spiderage!!!" 😀 The pattern on the Skoda Sunroof is the aerial for the radio! Neat trick! I recognised the Triumph just from the back quarter in the B/W clip! How "Sad ' is that! 😀 Skoda doesn't look too bad. I wonder if anyone from the "Eastern Counties Motor Club" remembers the car!
@@UKBarnFinds I'm editing this one as I go. Ten years ago we were toying with moving to France. I always had the dream of buying a place that accidentally had a barn full of left behind cars
I wish I had stuck to my first thoughts. I recognised the wheel. My dad had one. I practiced driving in it before my test. I remember trying to turn the passengers sun visor, only to find out the hard way that, they don’t turn. Much to my dad’s disappointment it snapped off in my hand. D’oh. Thank goodness VW brought Skoda. My Octativa was far superior.
The angled position of the heater valve on the cylinder head of the the 'MG 1100' @25:39 suggests to me that it's actually a 1300 engine of some description.
UK Rescue Rangers more like. Lol. Brilliant video again. Well done you two. So many memories, Especially the Skoda jokes. Looking forward to the next video. Ps, like Claire I do have a soft spot for the Bambino.
There is a massive hedge in the back of my father’s property that I keep hoping is hiding a shed with a forgotten classic car… still working up the courage to go in there.
Hi guys I always remember Kirby's in Southend shortly before it closed got I think a Worsley version of the mg in and it had literally rusted into the ground up to about half way up the doors it was the first and last one I have ever seen that far decayed lol . I love seeing what you uncover next keep it up guys it's great watching 👍👍👍
I used to hang around Kirby's when I had my Mk1 Cortina 50 years ago. That was a time when you were allowed to climb all over the stacks of cars to get what you wanted. Probably not allowed in scrap yards today. The good thing was, you could chuck the expensive stuff over the fence and go round and collect it later...
Sudden "Random Thought": It will be "Full Circle" for the Skoda. It's first landing in the UK would have been Skoda's preparation centre at Kings Lynn where the radio cassette , sunroof and alloy wheels were fitted.
The Triumph 1300 has a starter motor mounted on the other side of the flywheel. Subsequently it turns in the opposite direction to most cars. I fitted one to my cortina and spent a couple of days trying to work out why it wouldn’t start. Turning my engine backwards did it no good at all😳
Hiya Elton and Claire, I wish you sell merchandise, I would definitely buy a UK BARN FINDS hoody off you, keep up the good work, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
But also some nice classics hidden and reclaimed by mother nature.... eventually there'd be just the glass laid upon a the remnants of some tasty classics
The cats maybe themselves scrap but there's still valuable parts on that can be salvaged. Like windscreens, door handles and light clusters.😊 love your channel by the way😊
The ultimate in manscaping and mansplaining lol. Ragtops here in the states are always a nightmare due to rust under the vinyl roof tops. You've looked to your left, right, straight ahead, I think if you looked up in the air you might find a car in the sky with this field find. Do you earn combat pay with fighting those nettles m8? Because I always warn my American family to avoid them whenever we visit the British Isles. The cars that you folks find are more than the sum values in cost, as their moments in time, reveal long past emotional memories of my childhood living in the 60's and 70's High Wycombe England and Ireland as well for a longing of those days of lore. TY. Yes they are worth saving as the old adage here in the states recalls " There always an ass for every seat" purports too.
There's something on every car, that can make at least one other car go back on the road, so yes, they are all worth saving, it could just take forever to find that one person who needs the part, so if the value is measured in money, no, none of them is worth saving, but in anything else, yes they are all worth saving.
The 126 i was saving hard as an apprentice plumber in 1975 age 19 the car new was 750 but decided to put adeposit on a new house with the money , it cost 10k and 4 year later i sold the house for 20k , made for life ,but still love that little car

A fellow ‘car romantic’ who wanted them all to be saved, I guess. It would be so rewarding if any of these saw the road again.
I think you've done a great job digging them out and clearing the area - but honestly, no, I don't think any will see the road again. Great for parts to help others live on 👍

That MG 1100 looked to have a 1275 engine? If it's to much to bring the entire car out. It would for sure be worth while to at least remove the engine and bring it back home!
Correct, it is a 1275cc engine but can't see if it was the standard 9 stud head as used in the standard 1300's or the 11 stud head solid wall block as used in the Riley 1300, MG 1300 or Austin/Morris 1300 GT, It could even be the rare 1275cc Cooper 'S' engine which was the only 1275cc that had tappet chest removable covers like the small cc A series engines, it's definately not the A + Metro 1275cc
This is an amazing project, you could be doing this for a long time..... Thanks for an interesting and fun video. All the best Bob, (The MG 1100 should be got out and assessed), What do you think?

the MG would be a great parts donor. I love the ADO16
Joshua, well done! Great debut on RUclips and honest too.

Think the Landy definitely needs to come out
Good luck
I'm sure the glassware and chrome will be of use to someone from the MG. Might even have leather seats!
Skoda was actually quite clever with these- notice the split in the grill and bumper cover. You could replace part of these in case of damage.
Josh Claire and Elton cheers for another great video! can not wait to see what else the field of dreams has to offer!!
I’ve asked Claire for a week off 😂

Quite a collection of cars
Had a Scirocco GTI back in the 80s. Lovely car till I rubbed it up against a lamp-post!
Car - 0, Lamp-post-1.
Be good to get this fast car restored.
I'm sure someone would want the MG 1100
Interesting…if there is sufficient interest and we can move it we may add it to the list 👍

We’re all well, thank you, and hope you are, too. We’ll be back with videos soon.

Skoda 120 i knew as soon as I saw the front alloy. May be low in BHP but fun to drive. I have a 126p in Pink Panther violet, not easy to drive at all.
Yeah why not 👌🏼
A molching blade would be best for that kind of work
Maybe your strimmer would be better of with one of those blades that look like circular saw blades
I'd be cautious doing that in Australia, some pretty nasty snakes. Taipan, Dugite and Tiger just to name a few .With many more to wet your pants.
Great video Elton & Claire.
I'm fascinated as to the story behind these cars.
How have been standing in that field?
When did they make their last journey and why?
Did the owners know how long they'd be sitting there to be consumed by nature?
Have a great weekend!
Hi, they are a mixture of ‘only worth scrap money when parked up’ and ones that appear to have been used for motorsport. The owner had some land and parked them, rather than scrapped them. @Mickhanic-garage is the boy for the Estelle, if anyone could save it..!
They would all make good donor cars if nothing else.

There wasn't a motorway long enough for it to make 60 mph was there it had rear heated window to keep ya hands warm when pushing them but great video

That MG 1100 looked to have a 1275 engine? If it's to much to bring the entire car out. It would for sure be worth while to at least remove the engine and bring it back home!
Thanks for your comment Martin and your thoughts on the MG, noted 👍
Correct, it is a 1275cc engine but can't see if it was the standard 9 stud head as used in the standard 1300's or the 11 stud head solid wall block as used in the Riley 1300, MG 1300 or Austin/Morris 1300 GT, It could even be the rare 1275cc Cooper 'S' engine which was the only 1275cc that had tappet chest removable covers like the small cc A series engines, it's definately not the A + Metro 1275cc
Surely the Mini was leylands first front wheel drive car, not the Triumph 1300??
Leyland wasn’t part of BMC back then.
