    I was able to use a B&B Filth alongside a CRBN1X as well. Very similar paddles. I do think the CRBN has just a tiny bit more power, but very hard to notice. I do think the Filth has a little bit more spin. I noticed this on roll volleys and some touch type shots around the kitchen line. Spin seems exactly the same between the Filth and the CRBN at the baseline. I also think the Filth has a slightly better "feel" than the CRBN. It's more of a connected and lively feel. The CRBN is a great paddle but it just doesn't quite have the same connected feel as the Filth. I prefer the Filth. It also looks awesome.
    I've also played with a Vatic Flash 14, 16, and a Legacy Pro. I like the Filth much better than those three.

    I’ve had a Filth for maybe two weeks. Mine has nowhere near the power, pop, or spin of a CRBN 1X, even with weight added on. My Vatic V7 is a much closer comparison to the CRBN. Has anyone had this issue? I want to love it but so far it’s a let-down :(

    • @douglasmurdoch7247
      @douglasmurdoch7247 Год назад

      No raw carbon fiber paddle will ever have added grit. They all get their texture from the raw carbon fiber surface with a peel ply impression. So you never need to worry about spray on grit that’s going to rub off on any thermoformed RCF paddle

    I would love to see a review on the ACE Spade or the Diamond. I know that this probably isn't a super popular brand, but I recently tested their Spade and I must say that I am really impressed with what they have going on with their products. Although they only have two paddles released and I have only used one of them, the spin is incredible, the touch is great, and the paddle has a really light body, at least when compared with my main paddle, the Diadem Warrior. The resets and pick ups (off of overheads or speed ups at my feet) are a bit more difficult than with the Warrior, but of course the Warrior is heavier and has more control. On average my shots feel a little faster than with my Warrior, although the Warrior has more speed and power potential with the weight and the solid core with the softer outer layers that bottom out, activating that inner core with harder swings.
    I also have incredible spin and my topspin feels amazing, to the point where I never hit a flat drive with the Spade, and it is hard to go back to my Warrior where I can't get as much topspin. I am around 4.0, although I have never truly been rated, but coaches that have watched me play have said that based on my shot variety and selection I am at the very least, above 3.5. Of course, take this with a grain of salt, since I have limited experience in players with verified ratings.
    Anyway, I think that ACE has a lot of good things going on for them, and I don't have any way to test specs such as spin and maximum speed. I also love your reviews and the formatting, as well as the listing of pros and cons that you have, and having a rather unbiased perspective. I love your videos, and hope that this comment can gain some support or pique your interest to make this review!!

He is talking in his video about how to hit the ball but the movement is always like a shovel, a simple scoop and push - I am using my wrist, how can you to a cut, a top spin, side spin, how fast do you think you cand move your hand with that grip at the kitchen line?

    Its not that i dont like the “first look” videos, but as a consumer id prefer to know what you think of the paddle and how it plays after using it for a couple of weeks at least. Performance over time is a very important attribute when it comes to paddles and this type of video cannot cover that aspect. In this video his brother does go over the longer term stuff but i dont think thats the case in most of these first look videos

    • @PickleballStudio

      That’s why I had my brother in it.
      The unfortunate fact is that it isn’t possible to cover every paddle that comes out if I spend multiple weeks on it.
      Im spending multiple weeks with the high priority paddles (Perseus, 005, 006, SixZero, etc) and then doing first looks for the lower priority paddles.
      I’d love to spend more time with every paddle, but it just isn’t possible.
