An absolute legend and gentleman he was central to the golden era of english county cricket in the 70s and 80s and played against the world's best in county cricket because every side had about three world beaters, and Packers WSC in my opinion one of the greatest all rounders ever great memories I will always remember. SIP Mike.

Proc was a legend, our hero and such a lovely guy. We were at school age and used to go and watch him at the Cheltenham and Gloucester festivals. We always turned up early and Proc would let us bowl at him with a tennis ball and his young kids also were playing with us, great times….. Proctershire La li la la…. Proctershire la li la la !

Richards, Pollock, Barlow and Proctor would've formed the foundation of some team had they been allowed to play.

Van der Bijl, Le Roux, Rice , Kirsten, Cook all were brilliant too. Would have been an amazing side.

      Only Graeme pollock was great.
      Rest were just good players.
      Thats what experts say.
Bradman praised G pollock for his batsmanship.

Most agree that B Richards was outstanding as well. We've never had a proper all-rounder play for Australia of the class of guys like Imran, Botham and Kapil so to see a side like this one absolutely packed with them is a sight to behold. If Proctor had have been Australian...the mind boggles...

@@Vikram369AGrowing up I supported and still do Hampshire - Barry Richards opened the batting for them - in the few matches he played for South Africa he averaged over 70 - someone once wrote if Barry Richards had been allowed to play test cricket he would have gone down as the second greatest batsman after Don Bradman. The word great does not even do Richards justice - I believe he was the most aesthetically pleasing player to watch in the history of the game - I should just add Mike Proctor was truly great too - please do some more research and you will realise they are two of the greatest players that ever played this great game.:))
