I was member of a Hillsong church in the Netherlands. But the focus was more on music and not on the Gospel. And I never liked the type of songs they play. I always liked hymns to praise the Lord. I always felt that something was wrong with the church. So i eventually left. Now I worship at home. Watching sermons on RUclips, i study te Bible and sing hymns. I am still church hopping. Praying that I can find a church that focus on Jesus and the Gospel.
i hope you find a church that focuses on doctrine 100% and not all these other nonsense stuff. the bible doesn't talk about concerts actually this is an ORGY something that the bible- the word of God warns us about. Orgies are not only sexual but groups as well.

I feel disgust towards modern worship music and am not a fan. But as to the Gospel versus music, at least music is one way to lure people into learning the Gospel and practicing Christianity. People feel good with music and it is the perfect opportunity to get more people to practice faith.

Please pray for the church of hillsong for they are very lost and confused, please pray for them so that they will see their mistakes and repent and truly embrace the true teachings and words of Yaweh our one and only God
The question is to all those who comment in the negative, "Have you ever been there?" "Are people coming to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?" "Is the Gospel being preached?" "Are people being set free to serve Christ?" Now ask the same question for the church you attend every weekend! I personally cant judge them because I have not been there.
This is probably one of the most decent posts I have seen on this thread of comments. I myself attend one of the extension services of Hillsong in Sydney, Australia (and have been literally since I was born) and Hillsong is a church which spreads nothing else but the word of God and is loving towards everyone, which is why I find it interesting when those who have never attended Hillsong already have their pre-conceived beliefs about what Hillsong stands for.

Its because he was asked a raw question "who are YOU" and he froze. The tears were real but its the same as when people stand to give a testimony- their nerves cause them to cry. It really wasn't the testimony that made them cry but the nervousness. Same for him as in he was put on the spot.

I had a dream about Hillsong, and there were snakes on their altar (which was a bit wierd). However, I like how they are introducing people to Jesus. They may not be perfect but they are preaching Jesus and that's something, especially in the current depraved immoral world we live in - with crazy doctrines being forced down kid's throats in school. Hillsong might just hold the salvation some people need.

steve jones I really thank you for your comment. Last year, my family and I went to an Easter service in a city arena. They expect a huge crowd so that's why it's in an arena instead of the home church building. They showed the crucifixion video which I thought was fine- glad my children are reminded how Jesus suffered for our sins. But then, all of a sudden, they started playing Queen's We Will Rock You - singing like Freddy Mercury himself. I was absolutely shocked. It felt so worldly and ruined the service for me. Their theme was rock but instead of choosing a Christian song like Rock of Ages or Jesus is the Rock of My Salvation, they chose a worldly song to illustrate. The last straw was when I was listening to an online service and my being was shocked again when the pastor said, "now in the past, when pastors would say, can I get a witness, the people would say Amen. We are not an Amen crowd. That's not in our DNA. We are a Woo- Hoo crowd." I thought to myself , since when does a church become a popularity issue? So this year, my husband and I took our grown children and went to the little chapel that we first started as an engaged couple before we had children. Even though the congregation is much smaller, I felt so much more at home. And the service was very respectable. There wasn't a lot of younger 20 aged people there as my oldest pointed out but I told him we could pray about it. Plus there were some folks that remembered my handicapped son when he was an infant. And they sang happy birthday to him! That made me so happy! The music and service was respectable and it felt like home again- not crossing into worldliness. I would love to hear your thought and comments. It's hard- at first I liked the big church but I can't bring my precious children to a church whose got one foot in the world. Friends have told me they have left that church- too commercialism. I can't have my precious precious children in a Babylon church, so I'm just leaning on the Lords guidance now. have a great day and if the Lord commissions you to write encouragement, please do. I'm so thankful my children came to our old church where they were warmly greeted and felt special. My youngest son met the lady who had prophesied his birth before he was even born! And that made so happy! I told her what I experienced at the other church and she says, the Holy Spirit is pulling you away from that church. It is not for you."

The way that this news piece was presented is biased. Can't say for the other hillsong churches but i go to Hillsong NYC and Pastor Carl has great humour and his sermons are theologically sound. Attend before you judge.

We should be careful with false teachings. Not all churches are saved, but those churches who preach about repentance, living in righteousness and holiness. Salvation can be lost, it will remain if you remain in Christ too by doing His words and His will. A church of God must be a holy church not like the world nor live like the world, for the God of heaven is a Holy God too.

This is probably one of the most decent posts I have seen on this thread of comments. I myself attend one of the extension services of Hillsong in Sydney, Australia (and have been literally since I was born) and Hillsong is a church which spreads nothing else but the word of God and is loving towards everyone, which is why I find it interesting when those who have never attended Hillsong already have their pre-conceived beliefs about what Hillsong stands for.
I dont have to go there to know the fruit they are producing. It is defenitely not of God.

I had a dream about Hillsong, and there were snakes on their altar (which was a bit wierd). However, I like how they are introducing people to Jesus. They may not be perfect but they are preaching Jesus and that's something, especially in the current depraved immoral world we live in - with crazy doctrines being forced down kid's throats in school. steve jones I really thank you for your comment. Last year, my family and I went to an Easter service in a city arena. They expect a huge crowd so that's why it's in an arena instead of the home church building. They showed the crucifixion video which I thought was fine- glad my children are reminded how Jesus suffered for our sins. But then, all of a sudden, they started playing Queen's We Will Rock You - singing like Freddy Mercury himself. I was absolutely shocked. It felt so worldly and ruined the service for me. Their theme was rock but instead of choosing a Christian song like Rock of Ages or Jesus is the Rock of My Salvation, they chose a worldly song to illustrate. The last straw was when I was listening to an online service and my being was shocked again when the pastor said, "now in the past, when pastors would say, can I get a witness, the people would say Amen. We are not an Amen crowd. That's not in our DNA. We are a Woo- Hoo crowd." I thought to myself , since when does a church become a popularity issue? So this year, my husband and I took our grown children and went to the little chapel that we first started as an engaged couple before we had children. Even though the congregation is much smaller, I felt so much more at home. And the service was very respectable. There wasn't a lot of younger 20 aged people there as my oldest pointed out but I told him we could pray about it. Plus there were some folks that remembered my handicapped son when he was an infant. And they sang happy birthday to him! That made me so happy! The music and service was respectable and it felt like home again- not crossing into worldliness. I would love to hear your thought and comments. It's hard- at first I liked the big church but I can't bring my precious children to a church whose got one foot in the world. Friends have told me they have left that church- too commercialism. I can't have my precious precious children in a Babylon church, so I'm just leaning on the Lords guidance now. have a great day and if the Lord commissions you to write encouragement, please do. I'm so thankful my children came to our old church where they were warmly greeted and felt special. My youngest son met the lady who had prophesied his birth before he was even born! And that made so happy! I told her what I experienced at the other church and she says, the Holy Spirit is pulling you away from that church. It is not for you."
