I don't buy upgrade kits, but they are definitely way too expensive. For what you get in most, it should be like, idk, $20 at the very, very most? For most kits, you don't get enough of _anything_ to warrant like, $50 or something.
Some scratch builder guy can easily mod this thing and spend way less money than buying a specific upgrade kit 😂🤣
Waiting for a possible Baiwei KO that has a future DNA Design Kit already built in with it.

I really dug the Siege leader class version, but he really needs his own thing. Unless they can figure out a killer tank mode I’d love to see him as something new.

That being said the lack of bicep is kinda infuriating when he's essentially got two wrist swivels and two thigh swivels. They could've like

It's ridiculous how easy that could have been.
I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know the background behind that Autobot symbol on Shockwave's arm - but it kinda gives me the impression that he dismantled an Autobot and used their parts to repair himself, which is both metal as hell and oddly fitting for Shockwave.

There's no in-universe background behind it lol. He takes part in a relatively small scene taking place on Cybertron that was added into the movie last minute. So a lot of the characters in that scene are designed out of Optimus Prime's cg model for simplicity's sake and efficiency, since it was so last minute. That's why he's got Optimus Prime's spine detail, feet, forearms, etc. the Autobot symbols on the forearms are just a leftover from Optimus' cg model that they either forgot to remove, or decided it was a small enough detail that nobody would see it and wouldn't be worth removing
It does imply some interesting in-universe lore though, gets the brain gears turning. Shockwave in Transformers Animated had a disguise as an Autobot to spy and I think that's the headcanon backstory I'm gonna use for this guy to explain the symbols
You haven't seen Bumblebee (2018)? Weird. You're missing out. Its a great Transformers movie. It & ROTB are Transformers through and through. But, there actually isn't any in-lore explanation in the movie on why Shockwave has a Autobot logo on his arm. BTS, it might be because his model reuses parts from other characters, such as Optimus. But, if you wanted to headcanon a reason, then maybe he has it because of his Senator days? Idk. I only know that he was a Senator in IDW, I don't actually _know_ know.

It is strange that he doesn't have a Bicep swivel, because the core had it. Both bicep and forearm, plus the arm rotated and just tabs into the back of the shoulder to secure the arm. Idk why they didn't decide to just upscale all of it frkm the core figure, it's so odd.

They should have put the budget they used on the lower thigh swivel on the biceps. I have him right now so if they make a upgrade with proper arms. IM GETTING IT
Definitely going to be picking this guy up - already liked the core, this is basically just that figure upscaled with much nicer detailing, and it fixed the one issue I had with the core - which was how in tank mode the head was just looking backwards from the turret.
That transformation was so similar to the Prime figure I love it
The fold down feet in the front bothers me in alt mode. Wish they figured out how to smooth that out a bit.
It's meant to look like TFP Shockwave which had his feet like that in alt mode
Maybe have a part of the shin armor fold down to give it more of a slope instead of that big open cutoff
If Legacy ever modernizes Prime Shockwave, *they better retool parts of this mold.* Of course the head, cannon, and many other parts will get new molds. *But the build and conversion is perfect!!!!!*
Given that Evolution Javelin proved they can reuse BBM designs with Hasbro-designed alt-modes, I can see that happening.

he wasnt an autobot, he was a senator, he had interests in the autobots but the senators generally dont have an alignment prior to the whole communist revolution of the decepticons

So Voyager Shockwave is worthy of having rolling wheels but Tarn, and Concept Megatron aren't. Not complaining just find it funny. Loving the modern movie SS look of this Shockwave, and great to see he has height, stability, and decent articulation. Preordered for may as soon as it went up. Excited to have a new Shockwave in the collection as the last one was I think Animated. I literally don't even remember this guy in Prime let alone having a toy.
Funnily enough Generations Warpath from way back when actually kind of had a solution to this problem. It had no bicep swivel where you expect it to but it does have a mushroom peg at the elbow joint, meaning you can move the arm out like a traditional bicep swivel and it still looks pretty alright.
I mean, since the upper arms have easily accessible mushroom pegs you can pop out, I’d imagine this might’ve been made with a potential DNA Design upgrade kit in mind.

The bicep swivel should have cut that peg slot in half. It would still be able to peg in, while also locking the bicep swivel in the process

There was only, like, 1 or 2 who had a bad altmode. Brawn's was cool, Jackie's was good, Arcee, B-127 & Cliff, Ratchet & Ironhide & Megs. The only one who had a not-the-greatest-attempt at an altmode is Soundwave. & even that wasn't even _that_ bad. If/when I get him, I'd probably fanmode into a hovertank or something. So, no big deal, really.
Shockwave is the only character who can lack bicep swivels and yet still hit the hardest of poses 😭

The figure looks great. But I’m not getting it cuz of the fucking bicep swivel and for that I’m sticking with my siege shockwave cuz it’s a good mold with great articulation. Say bringing up the fact of one eyed transformers when’s the next whirl figure coming around
I'm not a fan of the song, but that core to Voyager is a good transition. In addition, I'm glad it is voyager most like voyager prime beast hunters shockwave if that sold today leave to hasbro to toss in accessories and call it leader. That's the best thing about this it's got 2 accessories that are parts of this the hose and blaster. With soundwave I gotta get this.
I feel like in the next Transformers. Movie that they do after Transformers. One maybe in the GI Joe 1 Cross over I am not particularly sure, but i believe shockwaves should turn into Panzer tank. I don't know we're just feels alright coz that we'll get the g one accurate Arm cannon.

I like this one. Do you have 3rd party oversized ones? I think the company name is Bongo that made a 12" version, that transformed into a laser pistol that mimic the G1, but the bot mode is the same in Bumblebee.

I just got Studio Series Bayverse Shockwave and he is one of the sickest transformers ever. This Bumblebee version does not spark any feelings like that for me.

I guess stabilty might be the reason for the lack of bicep but couldn't they have added a compromise like a reverse butterfly joint? That could've worked in place of a bicep swivel.

honestly as someone who displays figures in static poses the lack of bicep swivel is a non issue, but i can see why some people are mad at it. nontheless, i think this guy looks amazing and im gettig it the moment it gets up for preorder in my country

His CGI model was made by modifying assets from Optimus. He's still got a tiny Autobot symbol on his arm in the movie.
