    It's hard to beat Cold Steel In the value department. Almost always the strongest and cheapest blade is a Cold Steel. Fortunately for other companies people also go for the looks and the place where it's made. Also a lot people doesn't like Lynn Thompson because he hunts and other people doesn't like the gruesomeness of the Cold Steel ads. Me personally I love Cold Steel.

      Love cold steel and the ads are no nonsense. But they just cannot be found near me and I've lost over 13 packages in the mail. So I refuse to order stuff now

    Thanks for you informative review. Just got the Kershaw Dune Tanto as a gift. There is a way to carry it around the neck where you always know which side the blade is on (with out the cord spinning under shirt) and it will only resheath one way. It deploys fast with a quick squeeze.

    Love the Spike it’s my EDC blade I like that I can just drop it in my pocket and it disappears it’s more a Mini or Pocket Fighter than a neck knife I carry it in my waistline or in my pocket FANTASTIC BLADE!!!!!!

    I love both! I don't own either, but I like how they look haha. I think people should get both, at the price they go for, why not! The Dune, I can see only using it for belt carry, or appendix carry, being deployed in a reverse grip. I think that's probably what the Dune would actually do well, but like you were saying, you can't really get a good hold on it in any other grip. And with a very very small finger guard.. I'd be nervous using the Dune in a thrust attack.

    I agree about the Cold Steel Scottish Spike and the Scimitar Spike (I have both). Why they discontinued them is really a fault of theirs. They are the best neck knives!

    I am really looking at the cs bowie spike because not only could it be used defensively against an animal or some such, but it has a shape to it that would be fine for small or even large game and food processing, the only big hit is the fact that it doesn't have a lanyard, but the blade shape and the fact it's easy to clean and has a sheath that is better than the usual afterthought sheaths you usually see is what sells me on it.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  9 лет назад

      +Arctic Gator It would definitely slice up fish or mammals really well.

      +WeAllJuggleKnives Yes, I see what you mean. Really, when I look back on my comment I'm surprised that I made such a statement. It was not a cool thing for me to say.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  9 лет назад +1

      +Teachering No I mean it was a good comment, because for once someone didn't just comment on Lynn or the company but focused on the actual specific knife.

    I have the coldsteel spike and made the mistake of using it for utility purposes one time when I forgot my pocket knife. Wrecked the blade. I know it only has one purpose and utility is not it, I just wish the steel was stronger.

    @ but if the sheath is bending wouldn't that mean the knife is bending as well. not sure still which would be better rigid or flexible.

    0.4116 ain't nothing special, but I'll take it over 3cr13 anyday. So sites even have it listed as 2cr, but I think that's a mistake. 4116 is at least passable, and some pricey hunting knives from Europe still have that steel today. I agree about cold steel discontinuing the best of the old stuff. That seems to happen to often across lots of brands. Perfect example is the Kershaw launch series. All the good ones are gone, and were left with lanky ass weird knives, and tiny cali legal letter openers. They got rid of 3 knives in the most popular edc size range. Pisses me off.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  3 года назад +1

      Boker even uses 4116 in some of their integrel neckers. Yeah, I wish Kershaw would bring back the Lahar and the Cyclone, those would still sell well today!

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 лет назад +1

      For these purposes, the 4116 steel on the Bowie, because even though it is relatively soft steel, it can be easily sharpened or re-sharpened to a super "fish filleting" sharp edge.
