This is the main reason the Disney star wars trilogy pissed me off so bad. I obviously didn't like them, but all I could think of when I watched the trailers for episode 8 was "Y'all literally had material WRITTEN FOR YOU for the next 30 years, and all you had to do was reproduce it faithfully. And you STILL fucked up your shot."
This is another reason I hate that disney axed the expanded universe. The money that could be made off of cgi movies based on the old republic and after the fall of the second death star would make money. Some one somewhere is drastically underestimated what fans are willing to pay for what they love.

i believe it goes to some sort of law issues or smth like that. Disney bought rights to Lucas Star Wars. That means episodes 1-6. They dont own the expanded universe. Lucas had no intend on expanding star wars himself, so he let fans do it. But disney have plans on making more star wars, so using expanded universe for them is problematic. It's like back in warcraft 3 days. blizzard own warcraft 3, but idea of dota map inside their game wasnt theirs. Which resulted in famous Dota vs Blizzard accident. That's why, currently existing star wars games, have nothing related to current disney star wars.
the EU was a conglomeration of works by different authors and had some continuity issues that made scrapping it all for their own story that Disney could build and control themselves wholly a pretty good idea. They just fucking suck at it.

well your opinion,Swtor popped out last year in steam as top trending,and i decided to install it even though didnt played no MMORPG before,and after some good hours it blowed my mind of how good a game can be,made me feel like a little kid. yes its true its not GTA 5 graphics but that dosen't matter is an MMO.
SWTOR is so underrated. It took me like 8 years to finally get around to playing it, and I regret that I waited that long, but it actually still holds up. One of my favorite games ever now.
To be quite honest, it fell from grace after Knights of the Eternal Empire. Before that, I was online at a daily basis, playing my Sith Inquisitor and Bounty Hunter, doing all the dailies and weeklys, and eventually putting up a game wide record in Galactic Conquest with my old guild on CZ-198 (the planet, not the server)
Nah Games have still the freedom and Dave Filoni is the best writer Disney has who is in charge at least of the smaller projects which are much more successfull then the bigger projects soooo maybe thats skyrockets that dudes authority over star wars..

SO for anyone who doesn't know after Malgus was pushed through that rock face he was rescued, but because of how pissed he was he wanted to continue to fight in this really bad condition. This man makes the pilot bring the shuttle down to where two Jedi are fighting, and beats them down in pure rage.
The Zabrak species technically had two homeworlds: Iridonia and Dathomir. There was a general trend in both appearance and what manner of force alignment a Zabrak would likely have depending on their point of origin. The tan-skinned Jedi battle-master in the first trailer was an Iridonian Zabrak that died around 3500 years before Darth Maul, a Dathomiri Zabrak, would have even been born.
I would pay up to $150 for a full movie of this animation style in imax. I wouldn’t regret a single cent. The people who made these cinematics, wrote the books and developed this game have an unrivaled passion that disney should be ashamed of. I did however hate what they did with Revans but that’s criticism for another time.

First Cinematic was the Sith taking Korriban. Second Cinematic is the destruction of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Not sure about the third Cinematic, but it takes place on Alderaan where the Empire invaded and is vying for control of the planet. Cinematic 4 starts off the first major expansion, with Arcann and Thexan testing the borders of Imperial and Republic space. Cinematic 5 tells the backstory of Vaylin, one of the pivotal main antagonists of the two major expansions.
I tried it for 2 weeks, around 70 hours, it was enjoyable but I really dont like the combat. Other than that, it was quite a decent MMO and shouldnt just be thrown to the side. I feel there is quite a pay to win element to it but as a free to play player, the grind wasnt overly boring, I just couldnt get a good feel for the combat.

i have easily over 12,000 hours since i started playing in 2011, easily the greatest mmo ive ever played and im so glad these guys are playing it maes me so happy

@@TribekaGaming the best tip i could give you is to sub at least once, you get access to all DLC content permanently, even if you never renew again. Also, Adaptive (orange) armor and armor that you can mod is generally better than regular armor. For example, if you can CTRL+RMB and a modification screen shows up, that’s good. You can buy mods in the supplies section on the fleet. Other than that just enjoy the grind, the game is fairly easy and you can change if you want your companion to heal/tank/dps to compliment your play style. You can up the difficulty if stuff gets too boring, or you can just slaughter everything and enjoy the storylines
So long as Disney is still in charge, we will NEVER get anything close to this quality ever again. If Star Wars and Trek aren't rescued from the horrible companies holding their franchises hostage, they will continue to fade into oblivion after even more decades of decline.

@@nu4473 I will admit, one of the reasons I cant bring myself to play SWTOR anymore is the outdated animations and graphics, HOWEVER its mostly because the way they have micro transactions set up in game made me spend WAY more than i am willing to admit.
In case no one else mentioned this; they wrote a pretty good book about this called "Deceived" and it was great. A good read for any starwars fan who loves the lore.
Fun in-game fact: The trooper from the Hope cinematic is named Jase Malcom. (I think I'm spelling it right.) He later becomes the Supreme Commander of the Republic military in later expansions and you deal with him as an NPC/questgiver. And yes, he keeps his scars. I also am pretty sure the planet in the trailer is Alderaan because of the terrain and the fact you see, in the beginning shot, things that look like thranta (the flying critters used as taxis) soaring around.
They spent millions just for these trailers. So nope, we will never see a show in this animation style, unless they make a gigantic breacktruh in animation
Someone must have thought that in order to make thousands of imperial destroyers it would be necessary to collect more resources than all the extractable matter in the solar system and 2 times more energy than the sun to be able to use them all. This must indicate that the empire had extraction centers in different systems that were in charge of mining entire planets and pulverizing meteorites, an assembly center for weapons and ships of the empire and multiple dyson ships working in sectors to gather energy from multiple stars, probably using dyson spheres as well to maximize their energy gain. This would position the empire as a type 2 to 2.5 civilization, and if their goal was to control the galaxy, then it means they aspired to become a third type civilization.

@@SKRRTCOBAIN00 yeah they said that back in 2012 for everything that wasnt a movie, tv show or part of a select list of books, they decanonized everything else but on the bright side later on they themselves have said that anything that hasnt been replaced shouldnt be ruled off and the old republic hasnt been replaced like old post episode 6 expanded universe was. Also they confirmed revan was canon so at least part of the old republic is still accurate.

19:20 the father is a Sith Lord. The sith follow the rule of two. There can only be a master and 1 apprentice, not multiple. If the day the master can’t guide anymore (sickness, gravely wounded or straight up died.) the apprentice becomes master and now they must find an apprentice to continue on the teaching. Here he has twin sons. He waited to see which one of them will be his apprentice and in the end the son in white (the burns and armor shows him heading into darkness.) becomes his apprentice. To clarify: he is loosely a sith. He was taught by them but doesn’t fully follow their creed. So he went off and form his own empire basically wifh his views on how to utilize the dark side of the force.
Sadly the game doesn't know what it wants to be. It was a really fun mmorpg I played on the original launch on an RP server. RP was great, dungeons were great and group quest were great too! But then... There where no real dungeons or raids and the Flashpoint were also really bad. But instead of fixing thouse issues they focused on their strengths "Story telling" which drove the game slowly but surely to a single player game. At this point you can play the entire game besides flash points just with your crewmate he is actually so OP I send him away sometimes just to have a challenge

idk about the first three. But the last two are not animated. The fights are actually done with motion capture. I think on the corridor crew channel was a stuntperformer once who did this. Its actually so amazing!

From a lady who didn't follow the script given by George Lucas himself for the sequel trilogy and who considers the Expanded Universe as non canon. In my mind, the Disney trilogy is the one that is non canon.
We've got star wars visions on the way which is a bunch of popular anime studios making different episodes for an anthology series. A show about the old republic in this style would still be awesome.
you watched the trailers in the wrong order, you will notice that Malgus doesn't have his rebreather on in the Hope cinematic, he does in Deceived, because of what Satele did to him in the hope cinematic :)so it goes: Return -> Hope -> Deceived. those were the original 3, the laters ones are in the right order :) the reason they are called this is that the attack on Alderaan in the Hope cinematic was a decoy move, a destraction from the true goal, which was Coruscant. that event in the Deceived trailer is called "The Sacking of Coruscant" :) the earlier expansions also had trailers, such as the Rise of the hutt cartel trailer and the Shadow of Revan Trailer
The fact that these were made so long ago too… they could easily make movies with this animation style. I prefer this over the Clone Wars animation style

This is why my main in SWTOR has always been a Trooper. Because I like Jedi/Sith well enough, and I have maxed a couple, but there's something about being Just A Guy with thick armor, a big-ass gun, and the Force powers of a houseplant, wrecking everything in front of you. No midichlorians required.
There was more individual character development in each of those trailers than there was in the entire sequel trilogy

well your opinion,Swtor popped out last year in steam as top trending,and i decided to install it even though didnt played no MMORPG before,and after some good hours it blowed my mind of how good a game can be,made me feel like a little kid. yes its true its not GTA 5 graphics but that dosen't matter is an MMO.

SWTOR is so underrated. It took me like 8 years to finally get around to playing it, and I regret that I waited that long, but it actually still holds up. One of my favorite games ever now.

To be quite honest, it fell from grace after Knights of the Eternal Empire. Before that, I was online at a daily basis, playing my Sith Inquisitor and Bounty Hunter, doing all the dailies and weeklys, and eventually putting up a game wide record in Galactic Conquest with my old guild on CZ-198 (the planet, not the server)

the fourth "sacrifice" trailer gets me every time. such good cinematic, storytelling, animation, voice acting. 10 out of 10 "your previlege is the dirt." ... "the oath you swear. the promises u make. .. they are yours alone" ... "come with me! .. ... son!"
SO for anyone who doesn't know after Malgus was pushed through that rock face he was rescued, but because of how pissed he was he wanted to continue to fight in this really bad condition. This man makes the pilot bring the shuttle down to where two Jedi are fighting, and beats them down in pure rage.
The Zabrak species technically had two homeworlds: Iridonia and Dathomir. There was a general trend in both appearance and what manner of force alignment a Zabrak would likely have depending on their point of origin. The tan-skinned Jedi battle-master in the first trailer was an Iridonian Zabrak that died around 3500 years before Darth Maul, a Dathomiri Zabrak, would have even been born.

First Cinematic was the Sith taking Korriban.
Second Cinematic is the destruction of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
Not sure about the third Cinematic, but it takes place on Alderaan where the Empire invaded and is vying for control of the planet.
Cinematic 4 starts off the first major expansion, with Arcann and Thexan testing the borders of Imperial and Republic space.
Cinematic 5 tells the backstory of Vaylin, one of the pivotal main antagonists of the two major expansions.
Fun fact about "Sacrifice", Valkorion's eyes are blue the entire time until Arcann killed Thexan. Only then do they turn to his normal Sith eyes.

dude im glad summit is trying out swtor, so many people have been sleeping on this mmo. Im trying to get my irl friend to try it rn but it's hard
I tried it for 2 weeks, around 70 hours, it was enjoyable but I really dont like the combat. Other than that, it was quite a decent MMO and shouldnt just be thrown to the side. I feel there is quite a pay to win element to it but as a free to play player, the grind wasnt overly boring, I just couldnt get a good feel for the combat.

@@TribekaGaming the best tip i could give you is to sub at least once, you get access to all DLC content permanently, even if you never renew again. Also, Adaptive (orange) armor and armor that you can mod is generally better than regular armor. For example, if you can CTRL+RMB and a modification screen shows up, that’s good. You can buy mods in the supplies section on the fleet. Other than that just enjoy the grind, the game is fairly easy and you can change if you want your companion to heal/tank/dps to compliment your play style. You can up the difficulty if stuff gets too boring, or you can just slaughter everything and enjoy the storylines
So long as Disney is still in charge, we will NEVER get anything close to this quality ever again. If Star Wars and Trek aren't rescued from the horrible companies holding their franchises hostage, they will continue to fade into oblivion after even more decades of decline.

Basically if its got Jon Favreau or Dave Filoni as lead director/writer, it'll probably be pretty good. If it's one of Kathlene Kennedy's projects then its gonna be trash probably. Literally Bob Iger, saw the reaction to the Sequels then saw the reaction to the Mandalorian and correctly understood the actual sensible thing to do and make Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni's faction more prominent in the decision making process of movies.

@@nu4473 I will admit, one of the reasons I cant bring myself to play SWTOR anymore is the outdated animations and graphics, HOWEVER its mostly because the way they have micro transactions set up in game made me spend WAY more than i am willing to admit.
In case no one else mentioned this; they wrote a pretty good book about this called "Deceived" and it was great. A good read for any starwars fan who loves the lore.

Fun in-game fact: The trooper from the Hope cinematic is named Jase Malcom. (I think I'm spelling it right.) He later becomes the Supreme Commander of the Republic military in later expansions and you deal with him as an NPC/questgiver. And yes, he keeps his scars. I also am pretty sure the planet in the trailer is Alderaan because of the terrain and the fact you see, in the beginning shot, things that look like thranta (the flying critters used as taxis) soaring around.

Someone must have thought that in order to make thousands of imperial destroyers it would be necessary to collect more resources than all the extractable matter in the solar system and 2 times more energy than the sun to be able to use them all.
This must indicate that the empire had extraction centers in different systems that were in charge of mining entire planets and pulverizing meteorites, an assembly center for weapons and ships of the empire and multiple dyson ships working in sectors to gather energy from multiple stars, probably using dyson spheres as well to maximize their energy gain.
This would position the empire as a type 2 to 2.5 civilization, and if their goal was to control the galaxy, then it means they aspired to become a third type civilization.
Old Republic > Any other Star Wars story.

Also they confirmed revan was canon so at least part of the old republic is still accurate.

There can only be a master and 1 apprentice, not multiple. If the day the master can’t guide anymore (sickness, gravely wounded or straight up died.) the apprentice becomes master and now they must find an apprentice to continue on the teaching.
Here he has twin sons. He waited to see which one of them will be his apprentice and in the end the son in white (the burns and armor shows him heading into darkness.) becomes his apprentice.
To clarify: he is loosely a sith. He was taught by them but doesn’t fully follow their creed. So he went off and form his own empire basically wifh his views on how to utilize the dark side of the force.

Sadly the game doesn't know what it wants to be. It was a really fun mmorpg I played on the original launch on an RP server. RP was great, dungeons were great and group quest were great too! But then... There where no real dungeons or raids and the Flashpoint were also really bad. But instead of fixing thouse issues they focused on their strengths "Story telling" which drove the game slowly but surely to a single player game. At this point you can play the entire game besides flash points just with your crewmate he is actually so OP I send him away sometimes just to have a challenge

you watched the trailers in the wrong order, you will notice that Malgus doesn't have his rebreather on in the Hope cinematic, he does in Deceived, because of what Satele did to him in the hope cinematic :)so it goes: Return -> Hope -> Deceived. those were the original 3, the laters ones are in the right order :)
the reason they are called this is that the attack on Alderaan in the Hope cinematic was a decoy move, a destraction from the true goal, which was Coruscant. that event in the Deceived trailer is called "The Sacking of Coruscant" :)
the earlier expansions also had trailers, such as the Rise of the hutt cartel trailer and the Shadow of Revan Trailer
