it is very pretty. but i am curious if there has been a lot of accident on this road. lots of super car owners love driving their cars there and there gotta be some irresponsible ones. looks very dangerous for the cyclists too.
That is a sketchy path of mountainous road. It reminds me of a Colorado mountain road with no shoulder, no guardrail, just an edge and drop off several hundred feet down. I'll never forget the skid marks that went right over the edge and wondering if these cars cars and passengers were ever found. I would see this several times within a twenty mile stretch.
Drove that same pass 2 years ago in a 458 Speciale - AWESOME CAR, AWESOME Trip. Of course we laid out a course including the Gottard, Grimsel and Susten passes. They make a sort of rectangular course that starts and ends in Realp. If I were to partially retire I would like to live in Realp and drive to work every day - right across the street but drive those 4 passes on the way to and from work:)
D4 the senna isn’t as fast in a straight line and even on a twisty road unless you’re going as hard as you can there would be little difference in pace between the two.
@@user-de1xi2uf8d he said there would be little difference on the road. And unless you were watching a hwy run if these 2 cars then ok but they are literally driving on wire with traffic. His point stands within context of this video. And any other road like this the point would still be vaild. In these conditions you could be in a gtr and prob still keep up somewhat. Hello Man. Do you maybe have the full version of the video where they drive on the top at the Hotel Belvedere. @@NCVNikkCarVideos Ok, however, as they say.......beauty is in the eyes of the beholder......there's a lot more than just lots of lakes and mountains.......there's the overall ambience that we experience. Personally I prefer France and Portugal.........
doesn't matter what coming the other way, press the loud pedal BOOM straight past. Amazing video man, incredible cars that us mere mortals will only ever drive in video games
@0:39....those mountains in the background looks like the scene in "Goldfinger" where Bond was dropping the chick at the gas station.....and part of that movie was filmed in Switzerland.....coincidence?....
I used to live close by and drove sometimes these roads.... afterwork... These roads were very tricky and it was difficult to successfully perform heel-and-toe shifting. The drivers in the video must be scared or so how they drive you can feel they have no confidence at all. Just their braking point is terrible. You dont need such expensive cars however. The best would be to rent a Audi TT it is affordable in Germany and it is more than enough even if you know how to drive real fast on mountain roads. You can enjoy with it some German Autobahn and then make the pass in Switzerland. It is not too far from Munich or Stuttgart (4 hours). If you are courageous enough some of these pass in Central CH are open in part in Winter. With my Subaru and good winter tires it was delight to drive at night on fresh snow. I will never forget these moments. Lot of scary situation but it was ok. I try to drive as fast... as I could... but not more. In summer it is nice in the very early morning. But snow driving is way better. So much more stress and danger then!!! :) Dont drink and drive and dont forget these roads are full with bike/cycle riders -> share the roads with them. For any enthousiast riders: there are other roads in the area that are way more tricky... but you have to search them... by yourself.....
Comparing the two cars also both seeing them in person I prefer the P1, its heavier ways about 100pounds more but can stay a distance from that ferraris 6.3 litre V12, although it may be aspirated using twin turbos still an amazing automobile also having the option to enable DRS. Edit:also having around 43 less horsepower than the Ferrari is pretty impressive that it can keep up, the Ferrari having 950 is insane but its surprising the P1 can keep up.
They should downhill instead to the otherside of the pass, that road side is no on good condition compared to other passes like gotthard/nuffenenpass. To all car enthusiasts who loves to drive their car in the natur/mountains instead the city, i can recommend to make a visit to us in that swiss region in a summer. There are about 7-8 passes you can take with one ride, aswell to italy and austria. I do that once in a summer, still a stunning feeling! :)
i am planning on making a road trip, i still have no plans but all the options are open, could you tell me more about the 7-8 passes that you can do in one ride? would love to do it but i need some more details as i want to know if its in the budget xD
Anyone watching this vid on headphones will fall in love with the sound of p1's engine. The uploader has also uploaded a similar video with la ferrari as well. While the la ferrari has got melody, the P1's sound is just straight up heavy bass and ear thrashing. For the first time I prefer the sound of this mclaren.
My father got 911 carrera 4. I drove it many times and its really a wonderful/powerful car. 326 hp are more than enough for me. To drive it in a road like this must be awesome
its not about HP it's about handling and traction, my Focus ST would hang no prob with these dudes...my soon to be new RS however could do more I think. :) . Great cars at any rate.

"Honey, stfu while I try to keep us alive on these windy roads."
Very windy......and sometimes rainy too!!!!!!!!
I love the lambo right at the end. "Can I play too?"
Chase? I think you meant follows.
What great video, I remember this day well, me and my wife were in the green Triumph TR6 you passed on the way up. Your cars looked fantastic.
+David Phillips thank you. i was in the McLaren P1 :-)
The Triumph was more suited for those narrow roads.
The landscape and the idling engine makes this so relaxing wth
the hypercar trifecta AND a sterling moss slr?! AND that road?!! thats just breathtaking
Better than the front seat of a roller coaster!
And even better, you get to drive it, change gears, and listen to the sweet, sweet V8 (or V12 of the LaFerrari).
This is the way to drive these beauties, anyone who just leaves them on display has no understanding of the culture
Can’t afford the car but definitely want to ride on this road with my bike.
wooster Furkapass, Switzerland
I hear ya. But doesn't look like there's much respect for cyclists on this road.
I'd certainly recommend riding it. I know, because I did - although my bike does have a 1200cc engine - and it was a fantastic ride.
Riden it on my Fireblade... Grimmsel is awesome too...
P1 sounds so good!
Best footage I’ve seen in a while!!

very nice car. But please stay on your street side. Greeting from a motorcyclist
same goes for motorcyclists - stop leaning over the yellow and white lines when your cornering left.
Bikers like to hug the lines all the time
I came here hoping that I can listen to the LaFerrari, forgetting completely that this was filmed on a P1. Love the content.
What a beautiful country..
A P1 with a LaFerrari

What setup do you have regarding the camera? The sound quality is great with no wind noise!
i have a second GoPro on the exhaust for good sound quality. the main camera is only for footage without sound.

The P1 has more down force plus the extra HP will only make small difference at the top end of the speed spectrum
