Director James Wan and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa-along with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman-return in the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time: “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.
All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, now balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.
Directed by Wan, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is produced by Peter Safran, Wan and Rob Cowan. The executive producers are Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada.
The screenplay is by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from a story by James Wan & David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Jason Momoa & Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, based on characters from DC, Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
Joining Wan behind-the-camera is his sterling team of “Aquaman” artisans: director of photography Don Burgess (“The Conjuring 2”), production designer Bill Brzeski (“Jumanji: The Next Level”), editor Kirk Morri (“Furious 7”), composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (“Wonder Woman”) and music supervisor is Michelle Silverman (“Malignant”). Visual effects supervisor Nick Davis (“The Clash of the Titans” films, “The Dark Knight”) and costume designer Richard Sale (“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Ready Player One”) also join.

This looks horrible. You can tell the actors enjoyed filming all of it in the comfort of their air-conditioned studio on wires and near green screens. The effects are garbage. This is what a $205 million budget gets you? Avengers: Age of Ultron looks better than this, and that was 2015.
Despite the large budget, the film was cheaply made.

Aquaman & Black Manta going for round two? I’m in. Personally I think black manta’s suit looks incredible. The cinematography and visuals look stunning, plus bringing Arthur and Orm together and their bond as brothers grow was a great idea in my opinion.
Would be great if he wasn’t literally aquamans second main antagonist. They shouldn’t be ‘like normal brothers’ that’s the whole point in their dynamic. There’s a reason he’s aquamans most commonly occurring villain second to manta.

Simply impressed by the concept. A perfect sequel according to the villain as well. Most of the time, villains are cast out but this ain't happening here. In fact he's too strong and worthy. I don't know DC's future but I'm gonna see this for sure.

I’m honestly going in for James Wan. I feel for the guy because all he wants to do is put out his movies, and he’s in the middle of the WB/DC crisis. I’ve liked his horror films prior to him joining DC (hopefully he does horror again after this. Wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on from WB afterward, but who knows). And I’ve always liked his camerawork/style. So if his name weren’t attached to both the Aquaman movies, I don’t think I’d be as interested.
Wan is great. But don't forget that WB kept interfering with his vision, to a point where he got frustrated.

I think his universe building skills is far better than anyone. Snyder produced three great movies, one of them was a masterpiece (BvS), he had that storyline going great but what DCEU lacked was a Kevin Feige, James Wan should've been that.

Patrick Wilson is fantastic in everything he's in. He had already delivered for DC with his brilliant portrayal of The Night Owl in Zack Snyder's acclaimed Watchmen. He continues to do a good job playing Orm as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Jason and his dynamic as brothers, and the spectacular visuals of Atlantis

I love how they convey the vibrance and color of Atlantis! I did enjoy Namor in Black Panther 2, but I felt like his kingdom of Talokan was way too dark to appreciate. In comparison, this depiction knocks the other out of the water (pun intended)
Well when you get to a certain depth light is no longer visible in the ocean. That’s why he brought the sun to his people. Marvel tries to be more realistic when it comes to certain things.

I actually really liked number 1. I had my speculations but to my surprise it was well paced, funny, had an amazing colour scheme at times, good acting and my God the fight scenes were choreographed so well. Felt like it had heavy anime inspo. If number 2 doesn’t live up to that then I will be madddd

Seen the film twice already and I LOVED it. Jason and Patrick grounded the film with their undeniable chemistry. It's a fun time, and perfect for a solo date night or going with a group of friends. If you liked the first one, you'll like this too!! 🔱🌊

If Christopher Nolan aleays have a favorite actor in his movie like Cillian Murphy, James Wan is also doing it to Patrick Wilson
Patrick Wilson is also a Zack Snyder favorite (Nite Owl in Watchmen and voice of the POTUS in MoS). He also appeared as himself in the fun Teen Titans episode where the Titans meet Zack Snyder. It's possible that Snyder and Wan were both instrumental in having Wilson in DCEU.
Can't complain though, Patrick Wilson can actually act with a wide range and he can even sing, he deserves more movies!
