Do you guys think Chaos Cults will end of being meta warping? I went into this thinking they were solely 'for fun' but by the end I was starting to think they might actually have some play!
I don’t think so, but we need more of these Detachments in the game. Will you win Tourneys? Naw. Will you win local friendly games? Yeah. Will you enjoy embracing the meme of it all? God yes. Which is what matters.
I think they will as a glorified Stat Check. Like, yeah, it's kinda dumb but going into an Orks Meta, it's the kind of highly efficient body spam I would expect steals at least a couple tournament wins
Nice video man! I want to run a cultist/traitor guard combined arms list with knight allies and maybe a winged daemon prince just to cause trouble, but I’m between this detachment and the Pactbound Zealots. Maybe I’m meta chasing but it seems like you can still get a cult feel from that detachment while buffing units much more consistently. Khorne marked cultist mobs, tzeentch marked traitor guardsmen, etc. I know I’d miss out on the damned stratagems and enhancements but it would also allow me to buff things like daemon engines and spawn if I had the points for them. You think that’s better or should I just big dick it and roll with these guys? I already have a decent amount of Astartes Word Bearers so I’m on the fence
Hmmm, my honest answer is to play both! :P But if you're a big Word Bearers fan (good choice) yeah I'd probably lean that way instead. Fits the fluff & should work out to be about the same damage overall especially if you aren't going the Accursed Cultists Bomb route. Maybe save the Chaos Cult detachment for the fun matches heh
I think this army allows you to make your Deathstar (Abbadon, 10 Terminators and some other Terminator character) arrive in 1 piece at their destination with the Mortal Thralls strategem having a unit of Accursed cultist become their meatshield, 6+ feel no pain and a option to restore models to the unit. And Defilers, with free interrupt and even when its already been used. Imagin having 3 of those, thats 6 command points saved per combat phase. Keep saying it, People are sleeping on the Defiler.
I'm big on trying to be productive even with the "lesser" armies so hearing that means a lot to me, I appreciate your comment very much! 40k is all about having fun at the end of the day, otw I wouldn't play it hah

I found the 🧀!!! Its Accursed Cultists. Scout 6” Each time a unit shoots & kills a model they get a free move 1 CP mortal thralls, if the opponent shoots at something else, its a wound caused by shooting… 😂 It’s not much but hey it’s something!
Problem with the Enforcer Ability giving Overwatch for free is that he shoots one of his own Guardsmen afterwards.
Also 44:05 on your nurgling point. Look into beasts of nurgle. Slug puppies are insanely durable.

Scout move is only given to dedicated transports as far as I know.
Sadly, it will not work with a Land Raider :(.
