Slaanesh was the most requested god to cover after my last Khorne video & I'm glad that was the case! They were kinda struggling throughout most of 10th edition but now that we (finally) received some points drops, along with the Shadow of Chaos buff, I think they're finally in a place to where you can run them without feeling like you're handicapping yourself. They've always had some of *the* best fluff not to mention sculpts so it's an exciting time to be a Daemons fan :) Hopefully you guys find this video helpful though & be sure to let me know who you'd like to see next, whether that be Tzeentch or Nurgle
Appreciate that BulletBill! Yeah I'm kind of surprised by the lack of Daemon content on YT (not to mention Slaanesh hah) so I'm glad I can help fill in some of the gaps 😜 Great to see Slaanesh finally get the attention she deserves too, she had a few good options before but now they're a legitimate army even on their own, imho!
As a mono tzeentch player I am so thrilled to see you releasing these kinds of videos. It feels like all the chaos daemons-focused content disappeared for most of 10th edition, but now it's looking like these new rules changes have brought a bit more life back into the faction. Really looking forward for the Tzeentch video! Keep it up!
Thank you Riff!! I'll keep that suggestion in mind, that's legitimately a good idea & I do want to spread the knowledge on how important preparing for scoring is, so yeah I'll see what I can do
Fantastic video as usual! As someone who has (said before) that I have been interested in daemons since 9th but finally deciding to pull the trigger these videos are absolutely fantastic for getting into the faction and really digging in and learning what all the datasheets do, rules, and strategies. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see whatever you have in store next!
Aw man, that's like.. The biggest goal of this channel (spreading good info on the armies) so it's great to hear a comment like yours ❤️ I've loved Daemons for a long time but it's awesome to see interest in them get reinvigorated recently
Man, I planned to originally but if you guys knew how many hours these actually take hah. I was BEAT by the end / didn't want the video to get too long 😜 I think I might still do that but as a separate video though!
@@fatarchon my wife wants to paint slaanesh and im trying to get her into playing as well. a list video would be awesome. subsrcribed in hopes of seeing one!
Oh god, the real joke was when I released my "how to deploy for T1" video just for them to announce Pariah the same day. Most of the vid is still accurate but oof, that one hurt lol (the vid revolved around scoring secondaries on T1 so all the rule changes shook it up... A lot)
Thanks for the overview. I was thinking of adding slaaneshi stuff to my Chaos army and maybe doing a 1k daemons army. Right now I have a set of daemonettes. Any suggestions on a second box to pick up that would be useful for daemons as well as sliding them into a CSM list? (After that I may buy the Daughters of Khaine spearhead and convert them to seekers/fiends/daemonettes)
Thank you for the content, at each dataslate I try to make a mono slaanesh list and I feel like this time we can do something goods that would ba at least fun to play without being riddiculous. I would finally be able to put them on the table. For the rankings I would easily lower 'demonettes characters' just because of Assassination secondaries, they aren't just bad they are punishing to play which is sad as the contorted epitome is such a great model, I really hope the codex will bring it back to it's greatness. Tormentbringer and exalted chariot would go down for me too even with the new pivot rule they are a litteral hell to move around. At least it open a new gameplay, making a table and playing solo with triple soulgrinders, exalted chariots and tormentbringers and try move them around the table
Appreciate the comment man! I fully agree Slaanesh is FINALLY in a spot where you don't feel like you're practically auto losing by going mono. You make some really good points on the rankings too, I haven't seen too many people mention their opinions on those yet so I appreciate you tossing in your own thoughts on everything. Assassinate can most def be an issue especially with how flimsy we are. Fair points on the Chariots too, they're indeed a PITA to get around the table lol, hopefully the Codex gives us a 'move thru walls' strat to help with that (can you imagine how scary that'd be with GDs too?)
@@fatarchon Giving the shadow to every greater daemon was such a good move for every daemons and mono got really the piece of cake they were missing for sure. For the ranking I am very on the same appreciation, it's quite better to do it that way instead of full daemon. Slaanesh is (was) the core daemon experience of having things quite overpriced because of deepstrike and 5++ and compared to others gods they are falling down on tiers as Slaanesh is super speedy but the detachement turn around deep strike so mobility isn't the most shinny thing. Like that it really gave each god a bit part of the sun. I would be so happy to see chariots having a style of move over infantry (and maybe dealing bm like that), soulgrinder and defilers really need the same treatment as the big knights to move through all walls. GD would be an absolute nightmare to face. Which is quite something in the daemon dna. There is so much to ask for the codex (which would be too long to write in comments), it could be glorious if they gave it a proper time developpement and love. Which from 9th we could really feel a real implication. Each steps made are in the right direction as it get closer to greatness and it's no more in a pityful state of outdated rules.
Couldn't help noticing you dropped my name from the subscriber list. It's all good, though. Slaanesh is probably my favorite Chaos God, and one of these days I'm gonna get a keeper and Shalaxi so I actually have something to play with for this army (CSM is my main). Oh, and I'm glad you mentioned the soulgrinder, 'cuz I think it looks really solid these days.
F*ck! I did miss your name! Sincerely I'm so sorry though, you're one of the OGs so I kinda feel terrible for missing it... Won't happen again man Tbh it's *almost* a good thing, I think I'm going to keep master list so I can't forget again 😜 It's always a PITA to format those so yeah I should've been doing that anyways Anyways, yeah man Slaanesh is one of the best gods imo too. She'd prolly be the easiest to fall to irl hah & her sculpts are next level gorgeous. Good point on using them as allies too, a KoS works fine with CSM especially with her speed. Sadly Daemonettes aren't the best BUT for Pariah Nexus they'd still have some great uses
As a mono Slaanesh player, My Keeper, Shalaxi, and Masque are the lynch pin of my army. I run 2 Soul grinders just to harrass the other player constantly.
That's a fantastic core to work off of, basically hits all the bases for doing the heavy lifting while everything else can do your scoring or screening & what have you. I agree Masque is *vital*, they're practically what 'unlocks' all my Keepers & the sort 😜 Glad to hear you're having success though & tyvm for the comment Nyssa
@@fatarchon thanks for the deamons info. You, Auspex Tactics, and Daemon Prince Gaming were my research materials for building my list. Every game Ive played I won using mono Slaanesh.
Great video, makes me want to start the Slaanesh side of my daemons army. Curious what your verdict is on Slaanesh aligned Daemon princes with and without wings? Again great stuff I’m digging these daemon videos. Cheers.
Thank you Dwight!! Slaanesh is definitely looking better than she has all of 10th so now's a perfect time to get started with them 😜 As for a DP, so they aren't bad per-se but the issue I have with them is you can get a GUO for only ~40pt more, or a Soul Grinder for the same costs & I think either of those will outshine then in most situations. THAT SAID the foot Prince brings some very powerful abilities with the Stealth aura & the 3++ so they aren't bad by any means, they just get outshone by some of our other options. I did do some testing with the foot ver using his aura to improve the rest of my army & it worked well but in the end I think a Soul Grinder is the better option most of the time
Hey man! I love the video, helping me make choices for my crusade, and I was scared to add a soul grinder but I think you convinced me with the deep strike. Where did you find the model for him? I only have a really shitty red one from TTS.
Oh god yeah the OG DG models in TTS are terrible hah. I believe the mod is called Warp Forge? Something like that - if you check my 2024 TTS tutorial the pinned comment should have a link tho
Keeper is such an absurd profile defensively you'd think it's a Nurgle model if it wasn't for the move speed, lol. Pricy but 30 points more than GUO with enhancement you have two extremely hard to shift greater daemons to score you primary in no man's land. Shalaxi is my favourite model in the game but man if they don't hurt the points budget, lol.
Exactly! I skimped on KoS because the damage wasn't insano level like a Bloodthirster or the sort but once you realize how stupidly resilient she is, she becomes worth it! Shalaxi being overpriced definitely sucks but hey, it helps newer players hit 2k so I guess that's good lol
I love my Shalaxi. If I can get her into my opponents lines they are done for. If not they have spent too much time and fire power keeping her away they are done for anyway. My favourite new trick is hiding her in deployment behind belakor so she can’t be shot with his shadows. If opponent gets first turn I spend the CP to pick Belakor and Shalaxi up. They “must” come back next turn. Turn one deep strike with a Shalaxi 6” away
Professor, thank you. Given that I have all of these sonic Marines, and that idiot Lucious Model with the smallest base in all of CSM, for Daemon allies, and the flash in the pan that daemonettes are, would you go seekers or fiends? I'm thinking Seekers in a Raiders war crew.
Yeah I'd vote Seekers, though Fiends are still fine too (the -1tH aura would be fun to play around). Seekers with their scout move + near guaranteed move block potential is near priceless imho 😜 Even if you don't throw them at the enemy like that they'd be great for objective play too I'd think! So either should work but yeah I'd def lean towards Seekers personally
Holy crap thanks to your video i now realized that the detachment rule for renegade raiders is different (and less powerful) in the French codex. In French the AP bonus is only when shooting and does not work on melee. Wtf happened there GW?
I wouldn't be surprised if they get a glow up come the Codex, maybe an entire detachment devoted to Chariots. But yeah in their current state they're very ~meh. I'd take a Seeker Chariot at 65pt any day of the week over one of them
I think Daemonettes are way too expensive still. They are worse than Hormagaunts in every metric and are twice the price. With their current data slate they should be 60 pts or less
Yeah the more I look at them the less I like them. I still think oc2 9" move is great & is something you could work with but everything else about them sucks
@@SumsieBun advance and charge and fights first was our mono Slaanesh army ability. I feel like they're pointed with gaining at least one of those back in mind. Or they're still overvaluing the dev wounds.
