Depends on the Day of the week but it's either Life won't wait or RV/R2000 as my favorite rancid album. I prefer harder punk to Ska punk but Life won't wait amazing. At first i only kinda liked Let's Go, didn't like OCTW, but loved LWW so FN much i had to go into work late so that the moment the record store opened I could get V/2000. That album made me buy 1/1993 and relisten to LG and OCTW and I couldn't figure out what I missed the first time that I didn't listen to them/appreciate them more.

I flew all the way from Calgary to San Fran to see Cocksparrer 40th anniversary Rancid 20th anniversary. Went with my two brothers and one wife. We all got the hoodies, the soccer shirts, and the split 7". When my older brother died people wore rancid shirts to his funeral and my dad wore his hoodie.
You 4 played rejected those two shows. During the rejected echo at end of chorus it sounded like you said rejected followed one at a time by Tim Lars Branden to mimic the echo. It was amazing and should be a great addition to live set.
Great EP. I love the bass bunker. Saw Rancid for 5 bucks with Avail, Pink Lincolns, Bad Genes, and Anti Flag on Pitt Campues in 94 , and Matt and Tim were both incredibly nice. Still one of my favorite shows 30 years later.

Damn. Rancid, Avail and the Pink Lincoln's? What a show. I caught Avail back in 1998 or 1999 in Detroit. I didn't know them til then. Blew me back.
@@MattFreemansBassBunker yeah and you played all of Rancid 93 and most of let's go, and Avail played all of dixie. That was the last show in that venue. It was nonsmoking and some people lit an american flag on fire, so no more punk rock was allowed there.

I got that 7 inch mailorer in '92 and we just wore it out... I always wondered why it was never rereleased and finally bought a copy again this year. Stoked it's getting re-released, I love the record, and it was cool falling in love with it again this year.
When I was a young teen I heard "Time Bomb" on the radio, so I went to my local record store to buy the album. Sadly, "... And Out Come the Wolves" had sold out. All they had was this weird looking album called "Demos from the Pit". I remembered thinking even at the time that it was not an official release. Anyway, this exact version on that record.
So f'n crazy that if you every rancid album start to finish chronologically that Time Bomb is the first song played with Ska strumming.
This channel sustains me. Thank you so much Matt for being our older brother all these years!

Like, what would a Matt Freeman bass line sound like if he’d been in the Ramones? Give us a wild walking bass line for Rockaway Beach!!
I thought that too. The bass bits in kids are united (give em boot2) and the brews off BYO split are just ways to show that your Matt F'n Freeman.
I found out about a year ago that Rockaway Beach is the highest charting song the Ramones did.
As well, I'd like to see his take on SNFU painful reminder. It's such a simple bass line, but it is such a strong part of the song.
This is so good. I love that first 7" so much. I have it on vinyl from the 7" discography boxset, but as soon as I heard you were rereleasing it, I was quick to pre-order it so I get it with the original sleeve. Could you please do one of my favourite Rancid songs Battering Ram. And Idle Hands would be a neat treat too. Keep it up Matt, we really appreciate it!

Late 92 friend picked this up from Vinyl Solution in HB, a few of us friends wore this 7 inch out and this song was my favorite! Lots of Pepsi was drank during this time also exposed us to Screw 32 if I remember correctly. Thank you so much Matt much appreciated for your dedication to the older music you guys put out.
Are there plans for it to be out on cd? I’m a big cd collector and I’ve been wanting this and some strung out stuff on cd.

I once made a rancid mix cd first half (2/3rds) all the songs with your best bass lines and the other 3rd where you're singing.
You should make lesson oriented content that are breakdowns/walkthroughs of the bass lines. Most of us are merely humans that need to see things played more slowly to learn. 😃

Love these - would love to see you do a theory / lesson videos. I use yout lines as an influence for my guitar solos. My band does honor is all we know. Bass player only does the root notes.
But in all fairness he was only playing for a month and I had to teach him bass basics and learn the solos myself.

To quote fat mike (or as close as i can) from the notes of BYO split 3. I didnt want to do the split so i told Sean (of Youth Brigade/ BYO) I'd only it if Rancid was the other side.l thinking tim would say no. He came back he woukd ibly do it if was all covers. I tried to get out of it a second time by saying that I can't play matts bass lines. Sean said, you dont have to play like matt, play the basslines however you want.

Question about you playing with your fingers (right hand). Noticed in the beginning of the Fall Back Down video you played a few note gallop with your fingers (though it does 'sound' like it was played with a pick, same for the CD)... video hocus pocus, the real deal ? Are there any Rancid songs you play with your fingers ? Thanks for the channel, you got a good thing going on here.
Good question. Okay , so on the record it’s all pick. I did this for constancy. Over the years I’ve developed this thing I do where I play some stuff live with my fingers for effect. It’s a technique I got from Rock a Billy guitarist like Brian Setzer Stray Cats . There are some songs I’ve played on record with my fingers. I did a video for Holiday Sunrise a while back you can find. It all depends on what the song needs. I’m mostly a pick guy though. Thanks for watching

Skewing is perpendicular, so that is two sides of a square are always symetrical, you can't trapezoid an image, you can fill a trapezoid area, but you cant tripe the image. So you would draw, 2 skewed textures after dividing your quad in half. So that they would skew together and tripe that image. that would be how to make DirectX 3D out of DirectX 2D. without using shortcuts. V rewarding.
The bottle was the first Rancid record I heard. My neighbour had it and I used to go over to his house to listen to it. I found at a record store by chance a couple of years ago and was so happy. Feels nice to own the original pressing now that there’s a re-release 😄 Battering ram is my personal favourite from that record, would love to see you do that.

God I love that 7 inch. Are you guys ever going to do anything with all the songs on that demos from put bootleg? I love that version of rats in the hallway and it’s a cool insight to how your songs kinda evolved. Everything you guys do is amazing but that early stuff had so much energy and feeling bleed through. Back in 94 or 95 I got my hands on a vhs with a bunch of live opiv shows. Maybes from that first tour and some local shows? But you got to see unity go from one song to what it became. Very cool. It had your last show and but it also had a private last show on it too if I remember correctly and a rancid show before Lars joined. Anyway enough blabbering and nostalgia saw this pop up on Spotify can’t wait to be able to listen in my car. Thanks again for all music and sorry for constantly being on here writing shit no one cares about.
