- Who wants a mid travel system that will increase travel, wheel bearing strength, bigger brakes, stronger CV's, and wider stance, and more lift for about $500-$750?
This only would fit 4wd or Z71 2wd/4wd frames WITHOUT A BRACKET LIFT. Brake rotors are 12.5" diameter... 0.75" larger than the big Colorado brakes. Hubs are the size of chevy 1/2 ton hubs. CV axle outer joint size increases and is 33 spline at the hub. Also allows for use of RCV joints.
Stance widens 2.5" per side. Due to the longer A-arms, a torsion bar crank should obtain more lift.
Using the following parts:
Hummer H3:
Upper & lower A-arms
Lower control arm rear bolts
Spindle/knuckle
Hubs
Brakes
CV axles
Shocks
Sway bar & links (redrill and tap frame or use Badland swaybar adapter plates, or run no sway bar)
Late model H3 inner & outer tie rods for late 2006+ Colorado
2wd non z71 inner tie rod with H3 outer tie rod for 2004- early 2006 Colorado.
If you need new caliper bracket bolts, don't buy from GM, they are crazy expensive. 2005+ Nissan Frontier Caliper bolts should work: Dorman P/N 14991
It looks like RockAuto shows 2 different options for H3 front brake hoses pairs. 1 pair with m10-1.5 thread and one pair with m10-1.0 thread. You want m10-1.0. ACDelco Part numbers 18J4895 & 18J383271 Or equivalent. They are about 3 inches longer than Colorado hoses.
If your search on EBay for "hummer H3 knee assembly" it should bring up the upper and lower arms and the spindle knuckle. It may be cheaper to buy everything individually used though.
Hope you enjoy!

I put a complete H3 interior in my Colorado including the center console and floor shifter. It’s a great upgrade and very comfortable.
Love the FOX 2.0. I put them on my Hummer H3 2007. What an improvement. Cool video thank you
Great sons one way to honor your dad !
God bless
Looks pretty straight forward. Cool swap 👍
Yeah wasn't too bad other than the rusted parts!
@@WrenchChill how much money you took on parts??
thank u guys so much just got a 05 canyon thatt iam looking to build iam def going to do this instead of the 2.25 lift thanks for the inspiration
Thanks for watching and good luck on your Canyon! 🙂
Ayeee a couple that has a colorado and a Z as well! Awesome
Great video for the swap and instructions! what would you say the total cost of the project was?
The 2005 Chevy Colorado is beautiful, but Lena's eyes are even more beautiful. Beautiful Border Collie. Nick and Autum share an excellent job with us again. Greetings, Rob.
If I had torsion bars I'd do this for sure. I wanna get the h3 front diff bit idk how to wire it up
Cool build, I miss my old lowered 2wd dr colorado
Here's the thing: I was planning on saving up my money and trade in my 2012 Colorado to get the new 2023 Colorado. Now that it takes too long to come out, I still like mine and changed my mind about the new one and just keep the old one. lol
Awesome upgrade !!!
Nice! Been wanting to do this on my 05 regular cab
Do it!
Love it We all need Our Sidekick "hero"
I have the exact same truck, color and all!
Nice, when are you guys going to do this on my Colorado? Lol
Wish yall recorded the reveal
Can you fit the hummer caliper on these trucks with out doing a different rim size of doing a hummer suspension conversion
It looks good! How can you get the rear stance to match the new wider front stance?
new uppers n lowers for me , upper control arm bolts a real pain so cut off , 40$ a bolt ! the big bushing on bottom won't back out unless you drop the whole axle or cut out the body flange ?
Do you happen to know anything about long travel kits and weather or not i would have to find one for the h3 or the colorado if I did this?
awesome .... what do you mean by braket lift ... y just got my self a 2005 colorado Z71 will do that upgrade ... part num for those shocks please cant find any fox shock that fit a colorado in stock position like those... will 16 inch wheels fit whit those brakes..... thanks ... nice job.....also what year hummer h3
Doesn’t putting longer outer tie rods mess with the steering at all.. Thanks. Did you also have to change the inners.
Hi guys, your colorado run smooth or hard,I have one an run really hard, thanks for the video
Awesome video👍
Thanks Tyrone! 😊
Great job guys 👍👍🇨🇱
Thanks shane!
Can you use the oem Colorado brakes? So 15in wheels can clear? Or with these mods you have to run the h3 rotor?
IS everything same for 2011 Colorado v8 z71 model ?
What's up with that lifted silver colorado supsension mods lol any videos on mods to that looks sick
How did you fit those wheels aren’t the centre bore smaller or where they the same
Weird how rust affects different parts on these trucks. For you your torsion bars were seized. For me my upper control arm bolts were seized in the bushing sleeves lol
Yeah the hardest part of the swap was getting rusted parts off! Anti-sieze and CRC corrosion inhibitor went on everything going back together
The rear wheels need to come out and match the front wheels trac width. And i would put some nice jungle flares on it. But that's what i would do. Bur it's an awesome upgrade over stock and its not a cheap rough country lift kit.
Good thinking! Nick's dad did quickly add some nice flares to it and there are some 1" spacers on the rear. Thanks!
@@WrenchChill Was the rear left mostly stock besides the 1" spacers, or is it running a lift on the rear?
@@cbrown596 we did an add-a-leaf lift in the rear
Can this be done on a 2020 colorado?
Me. Gusto. Como. Quedo. Buen. Trabajo
How much would you charge if I wanted you to do that to my truck? Or do you have any recommendations on what shop could do it?
Very Nice! how much money you took on parts?
Looks good
My bro can you share the link for the conversation kit pls my bro
Making the the Colorado more and more appealing lol
They are great little pickups
Would a 06 H3 work on a 2010 Chevy Colorado?
I know this is an older video, but would this conversion use an h3 lift kit if I decided to go taller after?
Yes but your chances of finding one of the 4" lifts for an H3 are slim since they don't make them anymore
Is the stock colorado differential used in this situation how did you convert the h3 cv axles to the canyon did I miss something ?
Yes stock Colorado/canyon differential. The H3 CV's fit the Colorado differential
Have u done the rear or no
I am curious, if you know if this can be done with a 2 wheel drive. I know that the suspension (springs) are different, at least
If it has torsion bars up front then yes. If it has coils up front, then no
@@WrenchChill it has coils
Any issues with the ABS after splicing the wires?
Nope!
What did that cost ya brother
I have a 2012 gmc canyon 4x4 with 58k miles on it.
What is your opinion, possible to install upper control arm from colorado to hummer h3 ?
It will bolt to the frame, but it won't work with the h3 spindle and it's shorter. Why would you want to put a Colorado upper control arm on an H3?
@@WrenchChill i think that arm from colorado more reliable. And possible to change only ball joint.
Best place to buy all these?
The used factory parts came from Ebay, and the new parts came from O'Reilly or Rock Auto 🤘
Can you do this on a 07 2wd?
Only if it has torsion bars
I have a question so Im building a 2012 Colorado 4x4 5.3L V8. Should I use the 2010 h3t hummer upper, lower control arms and parts that would fit the 5.3L hummer to accommodate the extra weight from the engine?
No they are all the same as far as the donations parts go that you would use. Just get them from any version of the H3 that you can find
@@WrenchChill Thank you for the info. I have to get the engine and transmission rebuilt first. I hope the stock ecu can be reprogrammed if I decide to upgrade the stock 5.3
a 2012, nice! got a 2012 Colorado too!!
How much do you want for that Colorado?
@@kennyboi01 Not for sale that's my dream truck and its going to be awesome when I'm done in 5 years 😂
Does this work for the canyon?
Yep!
Will the 15”s still fit?
I think 16" is the minimum wheel size that will fit
We're the shocks for an h3 or colorado?
H3
On the front
@@WrenchChill thankyou!! That's a sweet build..so the fox show are for an h3 so regular h3 show will work in place of the stock along with the other parts
Will this work on a 2wd Z71?
Yes it will
@@WrenchChill Thanks for the reply. Just wondering if not having the axle nut on the spindle would cause an issue?
@@OscarRodriguez-uc8mh it might be a good idea to run a large bolt and nut through the hubs to take the place of a cv axle just to be safe.
@@WrenchChill just bought all the parts for the swap I plan to leave the axle stub and nut on there since I got axles for cheap. Now I’m wondering if some 2wd Silverado hubs will work with the h3 knuckle. Thanks for your help
@@OscarRodriguez-uc8mh did you get your 2wd z71 all figured out? Would love to do this on mine
Hey I’ve been thinking of doing this for a while. Already swapped the rear end from an h3 so now I want to do the front
Do you think this would work with the existing 4” tuff country lift for the Colorado with out having to find the equivalent 4” lift h3 steering knuckles? I’m concerned that lowered control arm mount would mess up geometry. Thanks
Unfortunately that won't work. Can't use a 4" lift without the H3 knuckles unless you do a lot more custom stuff
I figured that might be the case, thanks for the reply!
What’re the fox shock part numbers front and rear
And i need your help , please answer one qwestion. I'm trying to find new door w'strip 25931888 for hummer h3 , but wuthout sucsess. I think , that w'strip 19210208 from colorado absolutly same shape. Can you check ?) Thanks.
