I have had my H3 for 2 full years now. It has developed a Squeak that I cannot find anywhere... I even replaced the Driveshaft to fix it but no luck ! 2 days ago I decided to replace the Shocks... looked like an easy job. NOPE ! Had to remove the wheels/tires. Had to remove the wheel well covers to have access for my Grinder to cut the top shaft of the Shocks off as the nut on top of the Shock was rusted on. After all of that it was pretty easy !

I'm sure you've figured this out by now, but it looked like your jounce bump stop in the driver's side was damaged or maybe missing? If that's the case, then there is your noise that you're hearing. They definitely help with the ride quality as well. Looking at some Bilsteins myself for the front end. Do you still recommend them? Thanks for the videos!

Bump stops are fully replaced now! Yes I highly recommend the Bilsteins, I have the 5100s on both the H3 and my truck and love em!

Please do a update or respond to this comment. I also drive 06 h3 hummer. Redoing front end tie rods and all. One side was bad but I figured I'd replace whole front end. The guy just called and said he had the front shocks but rear 4600s bilstein were on back order but he could upgrade me to the 5100s as a set. He assured me it wouldn't change the ride. I told him I bought the truck over the jeep because long distance wise and the comfort of ride was like no other for a truck. Like you said. It rides so smooth to be a truck. He told me that jeeps are lighter which is one of the reasons they ride rough. And hummer is heavier with way Better suspension. He said I would not need to adjust anything. I will be fine. So I just caved in and said ok go ahead with the upgrade. I say all that to say. Please let me know what you really think of the 5100s. I'm 36 not into the lift stuff. Im at point where I enjoy the regular stuff now 😆. I was told 5100s were for those with a lift kit. But again they assured me. I would be fine without doing a lift. Same shock technology speaking. Just little bit bigger valve. It may ride a little firmer but I will be happy. Or I could send them back and wait on 4600s to get in stock. Sorry so long.

      Hey
Alright so the reason the Jeeps ride rougher is due to having a solid front axle setup versus an independent front suspension like the Hummer has. The Jeep Wrangler 4 door actually weighs a bit more than our H3s, so that's not the case. Bilstein designs these shocks for both on and off road use, while they are a slight bit stiffer than the factory shocks, they are known for their smooth ride quality. I absolutely have no regrets doing the 5100 series shock, it brought back my smooth ride quality and comfort. They do make shocks for lift kits but these are not the case, these are OEM replacement parts. Once you have your ball joints, shocks, and tie rods replaced you will notice better ride quality and tighter steering.

@@BADZ71 thanks for the correction. Yes I'm so ready for the truck to ride like it did when I got it 7yrs ago. Lol. I was more surprised the cost wasn't an arm and leg for replacement front end. Being I bought the parts myself. Good brand as well. Brand name shop wanted 4000 for everything and labor. But I went to a local independent shops that's also licenses. They only charging me 1036.00. Labor being I have all the parts. Just waiting on 5100s which will be ships tomorrow they said. Thanks man I appreciate the response back. Team H3 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🤝🏿🤝🏿🤝🏿.

@@BADZ71 oh yeah I replace rear lens with upgraded lens and went to AutoZone and bother vevo leds. Backup light and brake lights are all leds and better more fancy brake light lens. Front I did the same. Replace the lens put LEDs accept for the headlight. Replace those with the Sylvania. It's the best one they have before you get to the gold. Fog lens were replaced as well. Just recently replace third brake light. Easy fix. Those come already LEDs. Factory. I remembered you mention doing your rear brake lights. I wish we could send photos. But yeah totally upgraded the lens and side markers etc.

@@BADZ71 update; man Ole man the ride difference since redoing aka replacing front end as well as shocks. Ride so much better. Didn't have to mess with the torch bar at all. I did have them replaced upper and lower ball joints with ones I can grease. I didn't want to deal with what cost me a ton of money in the first place. Once they go out. It's out. Now with every oil change I also top off with grease as well. I love my hummer. Now I am in process of replacing steering system aka rack and pinion and all hoses etc. Starting to leak and had me thinking I had a oil leak. I just had everything resealed. Valve cover, manifold, rear main seal etc. I still had oil leakage. It was the damn steering rake and pump. Slow leak. Nevertheless I never thought I'd enjoy a rebuild like this with a vehicle. Now a see why jeep lovers and 4x4 lovers hold on to there trucks for so long. It's like taken a regular house then making it better than it was originally. Updated parts etc. Some vehicles just don't stand up to time. But hummers do.
