  • Wait till the end!! I have some real footage when I was training in a girl group.
There are SO many young girls and boys who did everything they can to reach their dreams, but some of them just get buried in the shadows. Let's be a little less judgmental to entertainers, and give them a bit of encouragement!
haha Im sure you guys didn't expect that I would be in a girl group!
So today I only talked about some BAD experiences I had when I use to be a girl group trainee. There were some GOOD times too, but I know most of you have been requesting only the bad ones.... (Im giving what you asked for LOL)
    I talked about :
-Drama between me and the girls
    -Emotional abuse by the staff
    -Inappropriate behaviors
    -Fat shamming
    and more!!
Please just watch for FUN, couple years have passed so I'm now able to just chat about it!

It’s Nega Network that Grace was on. The big girl group they had was ‘Brown Eyed Girls’ but because the ladies all wanted to have solo careers elsewhere, I’m guessing the agency didn’t have proper income stream and couldn’t afford to debut Group B. There are trainee pics of Grace with Solbin from Laboum(pre-debut appeared on a summer MV for Brown Eyed Girls). She’s good friends with Grace so not the ‘mean girls’ that she mentioned in this video.

I was accepted by jyp and it was soooo fucking hard to get in because 1. I worked my ass off everyday taking singing lessons, dance lessons , acting lessons (which taught me how to over come a bad situation by hiding it) and I’m thai, so idk if that lowers the standards or not but it seemed like it. I was also mainly the vocal but they said my dance had to improve. After like 3 auditions I started to see flaw in the system and like there were pretty girls who were not really talented that were picked instead of talented people who were still pretty but not as pretty as the other girls. It broke me and now idk where to go to find another entertainment.. could you please help?

@@j2kay93 lol what? The funds to debut are always there as a bigger company, but the competition is crazy with way more people vying for positions. i'm pretty sure bigger companies accept way less trainees. and are more picky. i mean have you seen YG's pickiness? and have you seen SM's looks? jyp might have many trainees but he always loses them, if history has proven anything. surely never guaranteed but debut is pretty damn close to 'guaranteed' in a big company. what groups never debut in a big company? please tell me.. sure, delayed, but never fall apart, predebut.

Which human rights do you think the companies literally disrespect? She was free to go home any time; they would have been happy for her to leave. She says she wasn't being paid and nobody was holding rehearsals or trying to prepare the girls to perform in any way.
Still, she stayed because she wanted to be there - in fact, by her own telling she used her connection to company management to get other girls fired so she could be the training group's lead singer. She did this even though she herself had no singing or dance training, she wasn't a natural talent, and her only role was to "speak English."

@@pim782 You keep saying "disrespect" over and over again and I'm not sure why. The company made it clear that they didn't want her. They didn't train her and they weren't paying her, yet she stayed in Korea and angrily kept practicing whatever she'd been taught before she was cut from the group. By staying - and by posting this video as if she'd been treated badly - she disrespected the company's decision to pick girls who weren't her, and it makes her sound more than slightly nuts. If you get fired from your job and the paychecks stop arriving, do you keep showing up every day at your old office? I wouldn't if that happened to me. The kpop training process is one long audition unless/until you debut. She was cut before debuting: they chose girls to be in the group and she wasn't one of them... so go home or try something else. Don't hang around in an empty office building pretending you have a reason to be there.

The thing is... before the groups have a final line-up they usually have to compete (there are a few that didn't have to, like SEVENTEEN, so they've been friends since trainee period, but most groups have to compete)... So obviously some of them aren't gonna like each other, especially if they have more competitive spirit. But after the line-up is chosen and it's final, the competition between the members is mostly over so now they have time to get to know each other better and get along or at least try to do so. Most groups are awkward in like their first year, you can just see they don't really like or even know each other and then you can see their friendship develop the longer they are together. (I think EXO is an example of it, to me they seemed so awkward at first lmao)
At least between some members, because I'm sure not everyone gets along and there's some beef probably.

It's definitely Nega Network entertainment + NH Entertainment because when she talks about the company having a semi famous boy group she said it started with the letter U this being U-kiss peep this @9:02 and then she talks about the group A of girls which had 6 members that debuted this being Laboum and in some of her old videos you can read it says Nega at the back

I heard so many bad stories. I knew a FORMER YG trainee and a FORMER SM trainee. some awful shit. one of them was REALLY young. stories of managers taking "liberties" with a girl who was UNDER 12 yrs old. out of respect for the 2 girls i never talk about them, but yeah, i hear you and feel you. you're a lucky one though bc you can speak english well and you have a self confidence most trainees DO NOT have. most of their parents COUNT on them to debut so they ship them out almost as soon as they are potty trained, and can walk. the entire k entertainment industry is SHADE AF.
oh and the girls are doing better. one had lasting scars though. one became a dance teacher/backup dancer, the other stayed in the industry but i'm not allowed to say what she is doing now

this is super late but Eunji from Brave Girls was a trainee at Grace's company after the merger (which is basically confirmed to be Nega network which merged with NH Media) at around the same time. i am very convinced of this. Eunji was probably in group B who didn't make it to laboum. Hyosun who also trained with Gracie was probably in group b too. and Hyosun & Eunji follow each other and actively like each other's instagram posts. crazy how small the world is

The key to getting the KPOP industry to change is for more girls to come forward with their stories. Otherwise, nothing will change. Also, it would seem to me that if you get placed in the "B" group, you should know right away that the company has no faith in you, that they are just keeping you around as an emergency backup performer in case something happens to someone in the "A" group. At that point you have to see the writing on the wall and think, "Hey, I'm wasting my time here. I need to leave and do something else."
For some reason, I can't help but wonder if something similar happened to Crayon Pop. I tend to think their experience was not like the other KPOP girl groups. There was never like a dozen of them in training. And I don't think they competed with each other so much. I think the girls in CP really liked and cared about each other a lot. Their company was very small. CP was the only group the company had. Imagine the pressure the girls were under to succeed.
It also seems like each group has its own story. If you go outside of Korea and look at someone like, say, Kyary PP ... I don't think her experience is anything like this. I think Kyary was always more in control over what was happening to her. Kyary's team (and it's an incredibly talented team) was always working for HER. She would say what she wanted to do and the team would help her put it together as best they could. Kyary was --- and still is, apparently --- very dependent on Nakata to write songs for her. But, otherwise, I think she is very much in control of her career. I could be wrong; I don't know anything about the contract Kyary might have with her record company, Warner Bros Japan.
It would be VERY interesting to hear what the girls in Babymetal experienced. I doubt if that will ever happen though. We can't even get Yui to explain why she dropped out of the group. AMUSE is very closed mouth about BM. There is a lot of money at stake with them and nobody is willing to talk at all.

Omg this is sooooo ilegall. Labor laws are so important for this reason. Contracts are void if they make you do something illegal like work for no pay. In the US, if you quit your job and they don't give you your last check that day or on the day you would normally get paid, then they have to pay you a full day's worth of work for everyday your check is late 👏
If your boss ever cusses you out, they can be fired. If they wven make a dirty joke, they can be fired. I'm so so sorry you guys have to go through that. Hopefully someone will fight for you and get laws in place to protect young people especially. Im soooo thankful for ours🙌 That's why it's so important to stay informed every year when we vote on them👌#RocktheVote
