I have had this happen the same and I bet it has to do with different specs on the vehicle regardless being the same nr ECU or in your case being 2 numbers off but still the same ECU. It worked and that's the most important . Imagine if it would have been the same issue again😂 grey hairs overnight. Good one Luis.
hello Luis I've been following you for a long time and I love your approach to car repair and I work too, so I'm interested in why you don't try to move the transistors out of the ECU and so you can be sure it will be, it would be a good experiment, you find a gate driver leg and you just pass it out of the ECU and then solder + 12v or - depending on what kind of system it is and so you test whether it will fix the car. You can try this with all systems controlled by transistors or voltage stabilizers such as LM 7805 or current stabilizers. BEST REGARDS. AND WHEN WILL YOU MAKE A REAL WORKSHOP.😄
Hi I swapped them just to try, and as you have seen, it proved my theory... Yes, I could have swapped them an keep the original ecu, but the programming on these is so easy, that was easier and quicker to just program the second one... plus, open this ecu, was a real PITA.... 😋 👍👍👍
Hello Luis thanks for the video it's necessary to read the old ECU data and write it back to the new ECU and what about if the ECU have different part number and the car is the same year , Model , will it work ??
Hi As per the video... no need to read any data, part number can be slightly different, due to different variants, as far as they are compatible will be fine... 👍👍👍
Hi what other ecu fits my car do u know as this is exactly what is wrong with mine. But I'm finding it hard to get an ecu. 37820-RBO-E18 is my part number. Tho I'm getting the same ecu when checking ebey but it's saying E14 and E13 does that matter. Thinks
Hi Luis, great video. I have 2013 Jazz 1.2 with 37820-RC7-G05 and it has one faulty injector SSD 103 transistors (causing misfire). I got 37820-RB2-G17 spare part from ebay - if I move the SSD 103 transistors from the spare ECU to the faulty one, will it work?
@@LMAutoRepairs hopefully so. I tried swapping the ECU itself but it could not communicate properly (RB2 model has a different wiring harness to RC7 model).
@@LMAutoRepairs hi mate My bt50 ecu damage and the mechanic came with the same scanner like yours, he plugged In and tried but apparently the old ecu need to function so he can load data from it into the second hand ecu....
I have got the exact same number on ECU what you have in this video ( I have 2013 honda I have found another ECU for 2009 but the last 2 number is G02 instead of G16 ) the rest engine is all the same will it work ? ( Also my ECU has oe UK the other one is JP ) I would really appreciate if anyone can answer please confirm
Hi Difficult to tell... it might be just a software difference and still work... but unfortunately can't really say... ring the dealer and see if they can help...
Not sure... that might be part of the map, and you might require to flash to ecu with a manual transmission file... Would have to investigate that one... 👍👍👍
Now that the car has a new ECU which must have different miles on the clock, and different miles from the ones shown at the dashboard, wouldn't anyone who buy that car and test it with a good scan tool, notice that the miles registered on the ECU are different from those on the dashboard and may think the car has a miles' fraud?
Hi Not all cars stores the mileage on the PCM/ECU... some only store it on the cluster... Not going to say 100% it is the case on this one... If the car has no big discrepancies against the MOT mileage readings, shouldn't be much of a problem though... But I understand where you coming from... I never actually checked (that I remember), if the mileage was recorded in there... probably should have, but that was definitely not a priority...😋 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs Ok, thanks for the reply. And, by the way, is the owner going to have any problem with the other car key/immobilizer? Is the ECU going to accept the other car key, since it was not programmed with it?

Hi luis! This video just saved me on a job for a 2012 honda jazz (European market) thank you dude! Definitely worth a sub from me 😊

It is good that programming was done in two ways so that we know what to do in case it fails from the first attempt

No... not for this...

Can you use same process to program Renault Scenic 2011 1.6 dci’s body control module?
No...
It is a different procedure...

Does this still work if you have the standard interface rather than the J2534.

For a fiat bravo tjet 2008 is the same?
