george , this is a great video . i bought x431 idiag. greatest scan tool ever. i have a bunch of dealer scan tools . witech, drb3,gds2 ,hds ,tech2 ,hyundai gds ,ford ids, i use this x431 the most. blows away other scanners on imports. keep up the good work.

What if you purchased a used ecm from another vehicle? Would this scanner let you override and inlut the new vin on the used ecm?

George hey buddy I need a couple pieces of info. I have a check engine light that stays on. I unplugged the o2 sensor while the car was running and now I have a permanent code. Can you point me in the direction for your program you have as well as where you got the ecu/pcm as well that is good quality?
I'm about to replace the connector for the fuel rail pressure sensor. Mine got torn out when my serpentine belt shredded. Causing me to have multiple warning lights, and stored codes. Besides going in and clearing codes won't I need to do something else with the scan tool?

Hey George, I have a 2003 Acura 2003 3.2 TL. ECM wont set Readiness" Lights TCS, SRS, and ABS are always on, even after trying to reset ECM. ECM = 37820-PJE-L62 If I replace ECM will it need to be programmed or can I swap ICs between ols and new ECM?

Hello George I am working on a 2005 acura tl and after a long process of diagnostic and troubleshooting we came to the conclusion that we need to replace the ecu. Problem is nobody here close by can program it for me, I was wondering if I could send you the ecu with my vehicle vin and you can program it for me. Also what would be the price to do that thanks in advance I hope yo hear back from you.
Just by writing new vin in to the new or usrd computer it will not start your car. It needs to be married with your immo system. You can cloan it your self. I do not offer on bench cloaning service. I just showed how it can be done. You can program it just by using cheap launch x431 tool they sell on ebay for around 100 usd. It will do replace ecm pcm procedure

Hi, George, thanks for the amazing video. I have a question. My 2007 Honda Accord was stolen two weeks ago and was recovered recently. The theft's key works but mine does not. With my key, the engine will crank but not start. The police officer allowed me to use the theft's key to start the car and drive it home. On the way home, I noticed that the speed meter and Engine RPM are always at zero. And the Engine light is On. After looking at my car carefully, I found that the ignition switch cylinder was changed/broken, because you can pull out the key when it is the ON position. Also, I found that the theft put a different ECU on at the passenger side. My original ECU was still mounted there. So I reconnected the wire to my original ECU, bought a new ignition switch, and a CK-100 car key programmer to program the new key. But it does not work. Still cranking but not starting. The green Key Light was still flashing.
My question: is my original ECU still having the memory of my VIN? Is that true once the wires are pulled out, the ECU will lose the memory? Can the X431 I-diag tool solve my problem? If yes, what do I have to do? Do I have to write my VIN to my original ECU? What could be the cause of the Engine light On and the speed meter&Engine RPM not working?

I replaced the ecu with new one i can program VIN but when i try to register with same step shows ( The registration of ECM/PCM has been failed ) but the key is smart . any help ? need to flash or pin code ?

+rusco321 yes they all do. You have to make sure it is correct part number. All you have to do is write the Vin an reprogram immobilizer for your keys.

It won't work with a used ECU from another vehicle. I followed your exact steps. Any suggestions on how to get it to work with a salvage ECU?

@@ryancue9240 Yes I did. Turns out I had an early 2006 model. The first few thousand vehicles off the line would not accept a swapped out ECU even new. Problem is in the instrument cluster. So you have to first change out the tachomter for something from 07 or up and then you can rewrite the ECU. Weird. There is a TSB about that.

So I'm not sure if I blew the computer when I put the negative on the positive and the positive on a negative when I was trying to get a battery jump so my car is a 2016 Honda Civic touring Turbo I'm not sure if the prices are the same in my I live in Nova Scotia you don't seem to sound like a Canadian so I'm guessing you're living in the States so you see this help me out I did have a diagnostic thing but I can't find I'm not sure if I blow One of the relays or watch cause some things do work however my computer my touch screen doesn't work that's what's making me feel like I did blow the computer

@@kevinlam1311 I just finished doing an oil change and my dumb self thought I could prime the oil system by starting the car without the fuel pump fuse installed. Well, I couldn't, and when I tried to start the car without the fuse installed the dashboard kept saying "check system". Once I put the fuse back in I got the same codes, U0038 and U0100. Perhaps doing a readiness code run cycle will get rid of the permanent DTC? I plan on doing that tomorrow. Wish me luck!
dario110011 my vehicle was actually previously wrecked and upon installing a new battery and going on a brief test drive all the error codes went away for me. You can always add a bit of oil into the new oil filter to prime after each oil change.
