Hi gents, great reaction! I really appreciate your take on this show. As you plan your future viewing schedule, I would also suggest The Expanse if you haven’t already seen it. I know that it’s a lot of work to make reaction videos, so maybe you could just watch the show if you have some free time over the summer. The first season is a bit slow, but it really picks up in seasons 2 and 3. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Kamala is still Inhuman !!! I'm gonna quote Jack Kirby ! He said & i quote -" Basically, Inhumans are Mutants except instead of being born with superpowers, they are humans who gain special powers when exposed to Terrigen mist". So going by that when Brian said "Mutation" X-men theme played as an easter egg. But Kamala also said "WHATEVER IT IS....IT'S JUST GONNA BE ANOTHER LABEL(Inhumans)". Think about that !
Fact: the actress who played Aisha ( Kamala Great Grandmother) Mehwish Hayat is actually from Karachi, Pakistan. She sits on the board of the Pakistan National Council of Arts and is a member of the official Oscar selection committee in Pakistan.
Hector, Fawad Khan, who plays Hasan, is a literal superstar of Pakistan and he is well-loved all over south Asia. he has been instrumental in opening up audiences to Pakistani dramas in the whole of South Asia. Fun fact: back in 2010 Fawad Khan starred in a partition-based Pakistani drama called Dastaan. It is probably one of the best but most traumatizing drama serials I have ever watched. His name was Hasan in Dastaan too. He left a major mark working in Bollywood as well before political tensions took over. He is considered one of the most handsome and charismatic actors in the region. Mehwish Hayat, who plays Aisha, is also a Pakistani superstar. She is not too well known outside of Pakistan but her films are huge blockbusters in Pakistan. Something interesting is when Aysha tells her husband that if the family is together they can make a home anywhere has so many layers, because it shows that pretty much everyone in the show is an immigrant. Aysha came from another dimension. Sana and her father left India to live in Pakistan, and Kamala’s parents made a life for themselves in the US. They all left everything they have known for the promise of a better life, and all found that the process is much more difficult than they imagined.
I love how her mom is in awe. Now that she knows all of Nani's stories were real and Kamala is "magical". She's so proud. I cried so much with this episode.

This was very emotional episode. I see a lot of people saying its not the best, probably because they dont like that someone made very good show that is aimed at slightly different audience target. But honestly, I see no difference in terms of audience considering other mcu films or shows. They are all for the same audience in my opinion, but its ok to not like specific heroes, no problem with that. Im all here for it though, its one of the best mcu shows so far for me.
As a Muslim Pakistani-American guy, I love this show so much! I really like the emotional and historical aspect of this episode. The one weakness that I see with this episode and the show is how Najma and the Clandestines are very one-note generic villains. I really wish the show got more time to develop them as characters and I've seen a lot of people sharing this sentiment. Overall, I would say the tone, acting, music, and setting in this show are so well done that it makes up for the issue with the villains.
@@hmdch it's frustrating that we didn't learn more about them too. Like, why were they sent here? They were banished, but why? And why do they want to get back to a place that would send them to another dimension? Were they criminals, or sent away by the corrupt? How long were they here? Hopefully there's a season 2 to provide more details. And why did she see those figures when she put on the bangle? Will she be able to commune with former wearers?
This is such a wonderful show and episode. I think Kamala's mom will make her costume. Also thought it was really cool that they took the arabic K from Kamala's name and turned it into her lightning bolt. Loved your reactions!
Idc what anyone else thinks, I love this show man. People who aren't watching are really missing out becoz the story telling is great, especially this episode. Also, can someone tell me what damage controls motivation is? Becoz they seem like they wanna do more than keep tabs on superhumans. They seem very corrupt and aggressive.
The DODC has very much overstepped their authority and there has to be something fishy going on. We already saw that in Hawkeye, where the DODC was tasked with cleaning up the Avengers Compound after the battle with Thanos and several items ended up at a Black Market auction. And I think it's up to She-Hulk to go over these cases. Ms. Marvel already dropped several hints to that show.
They seem to be enforcing the Sokovia Accords in the US with that SuperMax Prison. She-Hulk will definitely cover this since she's an attorney for enhanced individuals including Abomination
Thank you for the wonderful discussion at the end! I totally agree that Kamala is a breath of fresh air, in the sense that she has her complete family with her and they tie into her story so well. I really appreciate the inclusion of partition, because that is a huge part of Indian/Pakistani history
Tbh Ms.Marvel is in my T3 Marvel Disney+ shows. The hate is undeserved and the best thing about it is that you’re learning shit without even knowing it I love it
I think this is exactly what they've been building towards. She is clearly skilled at making costumes she only spent a day to make 2 Pakistan style hulk costumes, she seemed almost proud to find out her daughter is a hero rather than a rebellious girl, and she's the one who saw the broken necklace in the shape of the ms marvel logo. If her daughter is going to be a hero, she'll make sure she isn't wearing a skimpy costume lol
Yay!!! Thank you for the fantastic news Hector!! The smartest decision Marvel could have made was to have Kamala’s family be part of the movie. They are so ingrained into who she is, that having her just leave to be apart of the Avengers/Young Avengers or saving the world without seeing them in some capacity would make no sense. AND you guys are going to be doing LOTR patreon videos!? As if I don’t love you guys enough. Completely made my day and so happy I joined the homies ❤️
As someone who was never taught about Partition in school in the U.S. seeing how horrible it was and how so many lives were destroyed or displaced broke my heart, and like Kamala I cried my eyes out. I’m so glad that Kevin Feige let the show runner Bisha K. Ali have free reign in terms of showing South Asian history and culture. Also the love story of Aisha and Hassan was so beautiful, and the reveal that the inscription “What you seek is seeking you” was made by Aisha to honor her husband.😭😭😭
As a Pakistani my Grandmother used to told me that it was the most horrific night of her entire life the trains were full of blood and she was 12 years old at that time she witnessed all this probably ever Indian and Pakistani Grandparents are used tell the time of partition to their grandchildrens
As someone that has an interest in history I really respect that we're seeing as much of the partition as they're showing. All across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, which was East Pakistan at the time, this sectarian violence caused by Britain's absolute mess of a rushed land division between the new countries and their withdrawal from the area was happening. Somewhere between 10 to 20 million people were displaced and up to 2 million people died. I should note though that I am just some white guy and obviously the Desi community know a hell of a lot more about this then I do. Also agree with you lads that the family aspect of Ms Marvel continues to be the highlight of the show. It's just so well written.
Hey Agustin - a paratha is like a giant cross between a tortilla and a croissant. They're usually 2+ feet across, layers and layers of buttery dough rolled thinner than a tortilla. You tear them into sections and scoop up dal, etc, and they are bleeping AWESOME.
Yip. I prefer it to the dhalpuri roti (so messy lol) and it's soooo versatile! I mentioned on another comment that I save gulab jamun to have for breakfast.. paratha with grated cheese also pairs well with morning tea
Speaking of Laura Karpman, she is also composing the score for The Marvels as well, so expect some of the same themes and motifs from Ms. Marvel to return in the film next year!
1) Bon Jovi needs to make a cameo in the Marvels. 2) Ask Marvel for recipes in the end credits in your next review, please!!! 3) Evangeline Lilly needs to make a cameo in the season finale: hooks Kamala up with a stretchable, resilient suit; takes Bruno as an apprentice to Pym industries and supports him when he goes to the University of California; introduces the group to Nick Fury's activities. 4) Kamala gets accepted to Rutgers University; stays in New Jersey. 5) Bruno accepts he is closer to Kamala's brother than her romantic suitor; finds sparks with Nakia. 6) Tyesha turns out to be a Skrull. So does P.Cleary from Damage Control. Both report to Carol Danvers.
Honestly, the people who hate this show are really just sad at this point. Especially the people who refuse to watch it bc the power change (which…it isn’t even that big of a change) it’s such a good sho and deserves it’s good reviews
I love seeing the Hispanic reaction to Pakistani culture because I am Hispanic married to a Pakistani and we are enjoying this show so much and then watching you guys right after lol Paratha is amazing you need to try one lol Also our daughter loves watching "the Pakistani Super Hero"!
Iman continues to amaze and seeing Kamala’s family and experiences as an immigrant is so special. This show definitely hits differently and is so reminiscent of my own, and it seems your guys’, families’ immigration stories. Something about Kamala being a part of saving her family is so special. The scenes of the people trying to get on the train alongside the music made me so emotional and I can’t wait for the next episode.
Our families are everything ❤️. I love the history they’ve weaved into this show (very informative). Aisha is stunningly gorgeous. I think a lot of the Superhero origins were made from tragedy because people think that’s the only way to bring drama into their stories, but a person’s history and family has built in drama 😆💀😆.
There's that but also overcoming tragedy shows strength of character & is a powerful motive for bringing justice into the world. Kamala's evolution as a superhero might be slower as a result: her strength of character has not yet been tested & her motivation so far is purely based on self & self-identity (her desire to be seen, recognized & important; the importance of her lineage & the role she plays within her own family & community). I'm assuming a larger part of her evolution to true superhero (learning/ finding selflessness & self-sacrifice for the greater, wider good) will play out in the movie.
@@buffaleen I agree - that’s why the writers (of various comics, etc.) choose tragedy as the start of the different superheroes…the original discussion was that they used the exact same tragedies.
Death of their nearest & dearest as the catalyst for their evolution? Yes, it's definitely a trope for maybe half of the supers we know & love in the DCU/ MCU
Love this Predestination/DARK angle for this episode. I think there never were 2 bangles like they believed, just the same one from two different moments in time.
It could appear in the future and it could make Kamala more powerful. The British could have taken it, but they couldn't do anything with it because you have to be part Noor for it to work
Sometimes, people be hatin' on things they're not familiar with and it's just ignorance at its peak. They should understand that no matter what ethnicity they show, there is something we could relate to. Just have an open mind and be thankful marvel is doing so much effort promoting inclusivity in such a short span of time which the hollywood industry has been struggling to put to screen for the past decades. #moviesforeverybodyeverycoloreverygender
"What you seek is seeking you" is a line from Hasan's favorite poem. He recites the line when she's eating but y'all were talking about the mangos (I don't understand why people like that fruit, haha). Lol. So, it's a line Aisha got from her husband and kind of symbolizes the first moment she fell for him.
There are about 40 different kinds of mango, with very different flavours, textures. Personally, I only like two. Maybe you just need to try different ones. 🤷♀️
Thank you for your intelligent analysis. I so appreciate the emotion and cultural response to the familial and cultural elements. The Arabic letter that is left of her name necklace is the K. Or so I’ve been told. Thanks again.
I expect to see Kamala's mother contributing her design talent to combining the existing elements into the final presentation of the Ms. Marvel costume.
I can't fault Ms. Marvel as a show in itself. Sadly I can't turn off my Marvel brain, and I'm aching to see how her lore connects the MCU. The show is still a fantastic watch. I've learned so much, and it's so creatively directed.
Interesting that the death suffered by the Clandestines by touching the rift was VERY similar to a negative exposure to Terrigen crystals or mist. Certainly this is not by accident.
For the record, Kamala Khan is one of my all-time favourite super heroes. Sometimes when people say they think something is bad it isn't because they're sexist, or racist, or because they have some other agenda. It's because they just genuinely think the thing is bad.
Some of the Pakistani food recommendation for Augustin: Biryani, Haleem, Nihari, Karahi, Chapli Kabab, Chargha, Qeema, Paneer Reshmi Handi and Murgh Cholay. Some of the best Pakistani foods.
I'm not even sure Kamala affected anything in the past. Her grandma clearly made the stars herself. Kamala's moms def making her the suit. The hulk suit tease has to pay off sometime (+ the Kamala necklace breaking)
Loved this episode. So emotional. The story of Partition resonates so much with me & many others around the world. My grandmother & father lived through & survived this event.
I hope Kamala gets back to the Illumin-Aunties and straightens them out about her family. Probably not enough time left, but I will just be happy to imagine it happening offscreen.
Tip: if you’re looking for some good Pakistani food for the finale to order in, you should get some Biryani, karahi, samosas, pakoras. Love me some butter chicken, as it’s a pretty popular desi dish done well in America. I’d also get some good mangos. Finish it off with some sweets like gulab jamun and ras malai.
I think you just helped me understand why the fanbase seems so divided on this show and ones like it. For people who see superheroes as a way to see themselves, only bigger, they become invested in them as people and care about their triumphs and growth. They see the character before the hero and want to understand them as much as possible, to show their humanity and personality. For people who see superheroes as a way to express their own anger and frustrations, they only care about the 'hero' part of the character. The less personality they show, the better; they only want to see them kill and destroy and 'bring the justice', so to speak.
I know others have said it, but worth reiterating... much like Moon Knight, the score for this show is fantastic. The music during the train station sequence in particular ("The Last Train" / "Answered Prayer" on album) really heightens the emotion of that scene - hats off to Laura Karpman.
As someone with no familiarity with Kamala Ms. Marvel I originally had no intention of watching the show. But I'm glad I gave it a chance. The art direction is creative, the visuals are stunning, the cast is charming, the musical score is amazing, and I personally was introduced to a part of world history I wasn't familiar with. It's unfortunate alot of people are not giving it a chance because having a brown, Muslim, female teenage hero is "woke leftist trash".
This reaction helped crystallize what hit me about this episode. As someone with a family that both profited from the British Empire and suffered under it the difference in my family trees is pretty drastic. I can tell you about some great great great uncle on one side, the other, all I have is hope they found happiness. Maybe family legends handed down person to person while being aware the reality was probably far worse. And in this whole series we've been talking about this woman and wondering who she was? What was her life? All the rumors and stories even before we find out she might be still alive. But then we go back, find out she died and her death was so unremarkable that it was lost to history. Even though Kamala gets this amazing moment but she doesn't get what she was hoping for.
I seriously don't understand nor comprehend the hate for this episode and show as a whole. I really don't. Ending scene notwithstanding, this is once again another phenomenal episode. Honestly, this has been a truly wonderful experience. I cannot wait for the finale!
I don't think the current situation in the Ukraine could have been a part of the creation of this show but the show certainly reflects the trauma faced by so many relocating from that country to other places.
This episode was incredible, my favorite so far. Each episode we continue to strengthen the connection of Kamala's family and it's beautiful. Also, her great-grandparents were SO hot, damn.
theory for the Marvels: Monica has an issue with captain marvel, Kamala Worship Capt marvel kamala will learn that Capt marvel is just a person . Maybe a story line "don't meet your heroes kind" but kamala will be kidnap by the kree on their ship she escape but was accidentally misted. capt will save her but its to late.
I love how you men get it because let's face it, you see beyond white. Ms Marvel is about family, substance, history, depth, and much more. There are so many funny moments in each of the episodes too. I appreciate your reaction episode and great job! I can't wait for Ep 6 and something in relation to the other bangle and the Inhumans.
My only concern is the turn that Nadja had. It was VERY rushed, and also didn't really explain anything. I don't have a problem with it happening. But it needed a little more. Nadja saying something like, "This has been my purpose for so long, I don't know how to be anything else." and have Kamala pep talk her into it more. And actually explaining like, "If I give up my Noor, the veil will recognize someone who doesn't belong trying to get through and it will close itself to protect my world. My Noor will go to Kamran, please find him and help him." Boom, an extra 2 minutes of episode and WAY more believability. That's my opinion, anyways.
Iman Vellani reminds me of Tatiana Maslany in that they both erupted on the scene seemingly from nowhere and are both completely charismatically arresting with their every word. So naturalistic, brimming over with talent, but so likeable and compelling. I really hope to see much more of Iman in other projects, as well as more seasons of Ms Marvel.
I hope that through Kamala and her history, we get a fleshed out story for red dagger and just his life in Karachi. A whole series of that would just be great, he can even team up with Dust or something and build him to join the agents of atlas. Also, I am very happy and willing to say it’s not connected to inhumans. I’m not the fan that hates everything that’s not comic accurate, this show is tied with Loki as my favorite so far. That being said, the magic that came from najma to give kamran powers felt the same color pallet and mist like state that I imagined the terrigen mist would look. That paired with najma being covered in a cacoon before dying just like the mist did in the comics makes me think it’s an actual possibility even if it’s not this specific season or series that it comes into reality.
I don't why there are some hating this series ? Even i thought this series is going to be okay cuz it's a teen character but honestly it's 10x better than my expectations. being an indian it's connects more on the way our families are and the past of India and pak. Plus it's good written.
I really do think this show needed a few more episodes to really let some of the story breath and have the intended impact, or they should have taken out the stuff about the Clandestines, because I really feel they were not utilized well and were dispatched way too quickly and the bouncing all over the place motivations were difficult to make them interesting. All the stuff with the family and Kamala discovering her heritage and her history and forming her own story is really beautiful and they should have really have the attention kept focused on that. The stuff with the Clandestines just feel tacked on and distracts from the real story.
Is it just me, or does Aisha look different, almost like a completely different actress, than when she first showed up in episode 3? It must be the make-up, lighting, or something. When I first saw her in that cave with the bangle on the blue arm, the actress gave me vibes like "Quake's" mom from Agents of Shield. Great talk on family, history and immigration as it relates to the "superhero story". Loving every episode of Ms. Marvel!

I thought Pinar Tropak would be the composer.
@@moxyblackfiddler They didn't bring back anyone from the first movie in terms of directors, composers, writers, etc. lol
I love this show so much especially Kamala and her family. Excited to see them in the marvels!
I had a feeling Kamala would be the one to rescue her nan. It reminds me of the Tulsa scenes in Lovecraft Country.
I don't want this show to end!!!! I want to live in her world so bad
I think that'll make the the two of us 😭👏
Iman continues to amaze and seeing Kamala’s family and experiences as an immigrant is so special.
The British could have taken it, but they couldn't do anything with it because you have to be part Noor for it to work
@@nataliajimenez1870 hopefully yes!
They mentioned the two bangles long before that scene though
I love mangoes lol They complement other fruit so well.
mangoes are my favourite fruit
There are about 40 different kinds of mango, with very different flavours, textures. Personally, I only like two. Maybe you just need to try different ones. 🤷♀️
Pakistanis love mangos. I grew up eating them every summer! You were basically shunned in the community if you didn’t like mangos lol!
Pakistan is known for its production of top quality mangos.
Ooh, I really liked how they adapted the lightning emblem for Kamala by utilizing her name here. It's such a clever take on using the letter ک
Remember that Sana drew a picture of her mother because she didn't have a picture. Until Kamala gives her one.
Thank you for your intelligent analysis. I so appreciate the emotion and cultural response to the familial and cultural elements. The Arabic letter that is left of her name necklace is the K. Or so I’ve been told. Thanks again.
Pretty much everyone is tripping on how beautiful her great grands were. John Campea was hilarious about it
Thank you for your positive reactions to this show. As someone who is a first generation, daughter of immigrants. I really love this family!!
Hector and Fawad Khan are like long lost brothers.. 😅😂🤣
I expect to see Kamala's mother contributing her design talent to combining the existing elements into the final presentation of the Ms. Marvel costume.
You three are always my first video to watch. Your commentary and intelligent analysis 🧐 enrich our lives. Thank you - greetings 🖖
really...really...reeeelly appreciate this Reaction-posting...thanks you guys!!! 💪
edit - rivers?? lol
you guys are a hoot...love! 👍
Also....I bet her Mom makes her costume! She saw how her name necklace formed the lightning bolt! She made the "Hulk" outfits! 🤩👍
I can't fault Ms. Marvel as a show in itself. Sadly I can't turn off my Marvel brain, and I'm aching to see how her lore connects the MCU. The show is still a fantastic watch. I've learned so much, and it's so creatively directed.
The movie is on its way! :) We get to enjoy this magnificent backstory first.
Interesting that the death suffered by the Clandestines by touching the rift was VERY similar to a negative exposure to Terrigen crystals or mist.
Certainly this is not by accident.
Watch Gandhi with Ben Kingsley. That film introduced me to the history regarding the partition.
Amazing show! I’m really enjoying it and the great reactions. Haha
Farhan Akhtar in the last episode and Fawad Khan in this week’s. Whoa this show is so delightful!!! Thank you Marvel ♥️
I hope Kamala gets back to the Illumin-Aunties and straightens them out about her family. Probably not enough time left, but I will just be happy to imagine it happening offscreen.
Yes! Aisha's actress is gorgeous!! I had a hard time paying attention to the dialogues XD
I looooooove gulab jamun! I tend to save it for breakfast lol.
0:15 love Ms. Marvel poster, the most colorful and eye catching between them all
I think you just helped me understand why the fanbase seems so divided on this show and ones like it.

"Who has a favourite element?" - Sheldon Cooper!
Hasan's voice is just silk
I don’t think sana had any photographs of Aisha, when showing her painting of Aisha she said she painted it on what she remembered of her mother.
Favorite episode for sure! That song at the end credits was great too!
That Superman curl is lookin' kinda right on you Augustin 👌🏾
This is where the fun begins
Pieces of shit are why countries never change.
"What you seek is seeking you" is a Rumi quote...check out the deeper meaning of this thought.
It makes so much sense to me why the grandma was so attached to Kamala, wow
What? It's her granddaughter. What's wrong with you? Lol
@@bartell20j predestination paradox.
@@bartell20j u totally didn’t read what i just said goofy 😭
Okay... the heroes in the MCU really need to get their secret-identity-game together...
4:25 SAME HECTOR SAME LMAO I WAS DISTRACTED
Lovin' that UFP shirt, Hector!
When the Clandestines present themselves in the veil and died, it similarly looked like the terrigenesis of Inhumans 🤔
I don't think the current situation in the Ukraine could have been a part of the creation of this show but the show certainly reflects the trauma faced by so many relocating from that country to other places.
Great reaction and great commentary. You guys are killing it!
This episode was incredible, my favorite so far. Each episode we continue to strengthen the connection of Kamala's family and it's beautiful. Also, her great-grandparents were SO hot, damn.
I been loving this show love y’all channel love to come see ya reaction
theory for the Marvels: Monica has an issue with captain marvel, Kamala Worship Capt marvel kamala will learn that Capt marvel is just a person . Maybe a story line "don't meet your heroes kind" but kamala will be kidnap by the kree on their ship she escape but was accidentally misted. capt will save her but its to late.
This show oozes heart, and that for sure makes it easier to forgive some of its (minor) flaws!!
Glad to know I wasn't the only one distracted by Aisha's beauty 😅
One of the iliminaunties was right, aisha did kill a man
Man I wish the show and this episode wasn't so underrated god it is so good.
I cried this episode 😢
My only concern is the turn that Nadja had. It was VERY rushed, and also didn't really explain anything. I don't have a problem with it happening. But it needed a little more. Nadja saying something like, "This has been my purpose for so long, I don't know how to be anything else." and have Kamala pep talk her into it more. And actually explaining like, "If I give up my Noor, the veil will recognize someone who doesn't belong trying to get through and it will close itself to protect my world. My Noor will go to Kamran, please find him and help him."
Boom, an extra 2 minutes of episode and WAY more believability. That's my opinion, anyways.
Great review you guys... Can't wait for the finale
Tatiana Maslany was the lead in the show orphan black. She was extraordinary and won an Emmy.
We need a cameo by John Bon Jovi !!!!
Oh man, that would be such a trip!
Also if Nakia and Bruno aren’t in the marvels imma throw hands. They are the BEST side characters since like happy hogan
I don't why there are some hating this series ? Even i thought this series is going to be okay cuz it's a teen character but honestly it's 10x better than my expectations. being an indian it's connects more on the way our families are and the past of India and pak. Plus it's good written.
I sobbed during this episode. It was so good. I would like to figure out if Kamron is good or bad. Poor Bruno.
I m new here and you're great!
I'm glad to watch you guys see you next episode
I really do think this show needed a few more episodes to really let some of the story breath and have the intended impact, or they should have taken out the stuff about the Clandestines, because I really feel they were not utilized well and were dispatched way too quickly and the bouncing all over the place motivations were difficult to make them interesting.
All the stuff with the family and Kamala discovering her heritage and her history and forming her own story is really beautiful and they should have really have the attention kept focused on that. The stuff with the Clandestines just feel tacked on and distracts from the real story.
Yes, Adam said the thing!
Penultimate episodes are the best ones :D
Is it just me, or does Aisha look different, almost like a completely different actress, than when she first showed up in episode 3? It must be the make-up, lighting, or something. When I first saw her in that cave with the bangle on the blue arm, the actress gave me vibes like "Quake's" mom from Agents of Shield. Great talk on family, history and immigration as it relates to the "superhero story". Loving every episode of Ms. Marvel!
