I went to a wedding many years ago and the Best Man's wife was heavily pregnant. Nobody cared about that as it's part of life. At the reception during dinner she went into labour, was hauled out in an ambulance. The Bride & Groom were thrilled to get a phone call that they had a nephew. To the wedding party, it was another reason to celebrate. That is how it should be.

My daughter and her husband were in the middle of their vows at an outdoor wedding when it started raining HARD. We had umbrellas that didn't help, but they just laughed and continued the wedding inside. Everyone had a great time despite the rain. It all depends on the bride's and groom's attitudes, and they just wanted their family and friends to share their big day with them ... even soaking wet.

Exactly. My brother just got married a couple months ago. Outdoor wedding, summer. It fucking poured. Like torrential downpour. The deejay didn’t show up, last minute.. like.. 5 min before the bride was to walk down the aisle to her song he was supposed to play. The lady who was doing our bridesmaid dress alterations died. The best man didn’t show up. The spa and beauty salon who was supposed to do our nails, pedicures, and spray tans the day before double booked and couldn’t fit us in when we showed up, and the makeup artist was in an car accident on the way to our bridal suite that morning!! Along with like 40 other “minor” things compared to all those major things. My brother and his wife were literally like…. What the hell else could go wrong lol and just started laughing it all off. They were such troopers man, and we ended up making it all work… and they ended up having a great time. Looking back now, when we tell people who were there everything that went wrong, they all say “wow we had no idea!! Everything seemed so perfect and you were so happy!”.. and I’m so glad that we didn’t let those things ruin their day. It was crazy in the moment but we made it happen lol

At first I questioned why that lady's friends wanted to keep their pregnancies a secret. Then as she showed her bridezilla nature it made way more sense. They were probably terrified that if they told her they were pregnant, rather than celebrating with them she'd uninvite them for not looking as slim as she apparently wanted everyone to work.

At my wedding, (I am a male) two of my friends from my time I was studying and whom I saw once a year or so at that time showed up. One with a little bumb because she was the second time pregnant and surprised me with it. I was so happy for her.
Later, while we had the party, the second friend told me in secret, that she was pregnant too, but it was very early, almost no one (aside from their parents) knew about it, because she lost the first child and it was still the first critical months - but she wanted to tell me already, because it was my wedding.
That was the best wedding gift I got. I cried a little bit in joy for them (yes, I am a grown up men of 2 meters and 120kg and still I cried) and tried to remain calm, so nobody else noticed it.
I knew about their wish for a baby and knew about their loss earlier. What could have been a bether gift then such a message?
The guests where all family and friends. I wanted them to attend they wedding as they are, because that´s how I (or bether, we, my wife and I) love them and why we invited them the first place - and not be, behave or look as something they don´t were, just for a few wedding pictures.

I was a wedding harpist, and I can assure you Charlotte. Most weddings are not like the ones in your videos. They are positive, loving, sentimental celebrations of love. I also had the honor of being a bridesmaid for my beast friend and it was the best wedding I ever attended. Everything went great, I felt like shit the whole time because it turned out I had strep throat but didn't know it, but I managed to act as if nothing was wrong because I wasn't about to mess up her day. Happy to also say, I didn't get anyone else sick. I lost all my photos of her wedding due to a camera glitch which was just downright heartbreaking, but that year either for my birthday or Christmas, she gave me a wedding photo book and a CD with ALL of the photos taken at the wedding and rehearsals. She basically replaced all my photos of her wedding. That's how kind she is. So yeah, not all weddings are bridezillas and unhinged drama. I promise.

Agree but I think I'd prefer the no story after my parents...
My parents ran away... After the ceremony was over with a billion different dramatic insane problems including but not limited to her needing a literal bodyguard, their wedding party not all being there and him pulling people out of the attendees that would fit shirts, and their being more strangers attending their wedding than invited guests. After they hadn't eaten because they were forced to continue taking pictures. After cutting the cake and never getting to eat any of it. And not having a car as he had crashed it the month before. A family friend walked up to my dad palmed him her keys. he grabbed my mom and her extra clothes and waved bye as they drove away.
Long story short mine will be in our field and there are already friends volunteering who will be escorting any and all drama out before I have to deal with it. And if my girls wanna be pregnant all the power to ya just make sure ur dress is comfy and ur shoes don't hurt ur feet and let me know if any of the stress is too much and I will figure the rest out. Some people scare me with their wedding ideas about weight and other people's lives.

Told them that I understand the financial issues and my Dad was able to actually pay for their dresses. He was saving from the time I started working. I gave him a bit of my check as a way to pay for the use of the car my dad helped me get. He was sneaky and opened up an account at the bank with my name as a trustee. So it helped us pay for the girls dresses. They actually paid &10.00. At the reception, I gave them a Thank you card with $20.00. It was awesome.

But I was still best friend enough to be an usher at the church, use my video camera to film her wedding (for free btw), oh and a whole list of other stuff to do for her on her wedding day. Hubby and I got married in California. Our family all lived in the Deep South or the Midwest, so no one could involve themselves in the planning. They had only to show up. We had no bridesmaids or groomsmen. No maid of honor, no best man. We had ZERO problems. Just make it simple & ask no one for help. No need to elope if you’d rather celebrate with your families. Just keep them at arms length and insist you want to do this on your own. The problem comes in when you NEED their money to have the wedding. If that’s the case, yes…go elope. People who fund your wedding typically want involvement. It’s a trade off.

The only wedding I was a bridesmaid at actually did go off without a hitch. Most laid-back bride ever (not surprising, knowing this woman!). Location: alma mater chapel. Pretty enough on its own not to need flowers. Dresses: bridesmaids were not only in different states but in different countries, so she mailed us paint samples and told us to get a knee-length dress in that color, no strapless. Everyone followed instructions. Bride's dress was gorgeous. She wore matching high-top keds with it. No notes. Reception: the bridal party all wore silly hats into the dining hall (which was on the same campus as the chapel). She hired a local DJ and he played Vitamin String Quartet throughout the meal (cue the entire reception singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody). Food was good. Table decor was mostly bought at Dollar Tree and looked great. I honestly think the only thing in the entire wedding that the bride splashed out for was her dress and the hand-painted fans that she had her bridesmaids carry instead of flowers - they were personalized for each of us with things we liked! Very nice bridesmaid gift. Got our hair done separately, none of us knows how to put on makeup so we didn't bother with most of it. Only interruption: ice cream truck showed up on the campus during the rehearsal dinner, so we got ice cream! Lovely day. I wish all weddings could be that laid-back.

I knew that finding an expensive dress was pointless, since she was the only one in my party and I didn't see the point of making her buy a dress she'd likely never wear again. I told her my colors and wear what she wanted, as long as she was comfy. She had a simple yet adorable dress made with a removable belly panel that she could wear for anything else, pregnant or not. It worked out great! The shade of material she picked worked out perfectly because we're both redheads!

My sister's wedding was incredibly smooth and drama free. She let us pick out our own dresses and colors. She said she wanted us all to feel beautiful. She and her now husband paid for the wedding themselves. Planned it all and his family was good about it, as we're my parents. They've been married for 18 years and still going strong. We all thought she'd be a bridezilla. But, she was completely opposite of that. She was really kind and considerate. In her normal, day to day life, she is extremely picky, particular and can be a handful. But, she was so happy and the wedding didn't faze her. She asked for my our opinion and went along with almost all of our suggestions.it was such a good wedding. The vibes were so chill and so good. We ran into one of the wedding guests, we hadn't seen in a few years. She told my sister, it was the best wedding she had been to and she asked my sisters about the planning and how she did it, because her daughter is getting married and she wants her daughters wedding to be just as fun and beautiful as my sisters had been.

DIY wedding, found great deals through family and friends, never went over budget, no issues with bridesmaids' sizes...I purchased my dress (as well as bridesmaids dresses) through the JC Penney bridal catalog, absolutely no alterations needed. I paid a DJ with my own paycheck, i figured out costs ahead of time and I bought silk flowers, etc and made all the bouquets, corsages, and boutineers. I asked my dad for $1,500. I handled all the finances for the wedding. My wedding was on December 15 and we were surprised to find that the church had been decorated for Christmas the morning of. Bonus lol. I even got the reception hall absolutely free as it was on the property where my cousin worked. And get this...i was only 21 years old! Level headedness wins the race! I had 2 cousins who had recently been married so we used a lot of their decorations. My aunt did the flowers. I got my dress and my bridesmaid dress at the JCPenney closeout store (last seasons dresses). His dad was a preacher so he married us and that was free. His grandmother played the piano and his sister sang. Our friend was a photographer and took pictures as a gift. The only thing that really cost money was the cake and the veil. I wasn’t focused on that one day. I was focused on the days after. We spent our money on a new home. That was 28 years ago and we are still married. 💍

She changed plans for her bridesmaid's dresses just to accommodate my pregnancy. I was 8 months pregnant when she got married and the wedding was beautiful. My 2-year-old son even got to help me with my speech by figuring out that his voice could be heard through the mic and loved it. I named my daughter after her. We are now both just turning 50 and our kids are grown and we are still the bestest friends ever. THAT is friendship. (Love you Tatum)

For that first story, I've never been involved in the dress buying process of a wedding (even tho I was in my second-older sister's wedding party) but I HAVE gone prom dress shopping in the past, and let me tell you, as a bigger girl, finding a dress that fits and fits COMFORTABLY is hard. It was last minute for me, and I still had to get alterations done on the dress, and it's WAY more difficult to add material than to remove material in alterations. Props to that bridal store owner for doing the right and legal thing.

As someone who’s recovered from an eating disorder, I would walk away from the entire friendship if this happened to me.
My friend was an absolute sweetheart when I had issues with unexpected weight gain from medication during her wedding and instead of making a big deal of it, she was encouraging and helped me pick a new dress that worked for my weight gain and new body shape. She stayed super supportive (I went from a 00 to a size 6 so it was a massive change to me mentally) and by the end of her wedding, I felt so confident in my new body because she made me feel so beautiful as did all the other bridesmaids.

The biggest drama at my wedding was I had forgotten my cheque book at my parents house (about 45 min away) and had no way to pay my hair stylist, officiant, or music after they were done! This was before payment transfers were a thing (or trusted).
Thankfully they were all understanding about the situation we were in. I mailed them all money orders a couple of days later, with much larger tips then I had originally planned as a last apology for not being able to pay them on the day.

They all wanted to see my dress so they could gage what to get, I had been dreading dress shopping. Finally I just bought a $60 dress off Amazon and figured I’d try it out. It came 2 days later and I LOVED it. My wedding day comes, everyone looked STUNNING, and my photos were more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

My sister deliberately ruined my dress for her wedding. It was really weird, the dress fit perfectly when I first arrived (from interstate) to the fitting. Then they gave it to me ruined. They made me pay for it, and there was no time to fix it. But I smiled and pretended it was all fine, throughout the day. I later learned that it had been ruined deliberately, when I gave it to another dressmaker to fix. She said that it had a weird lining inside it that was sewn with zigzags back and forth, so that it would tightly crease and crush. I don't understand ANY of it, and I would have gladly not attended, if that's she what she wanted. Linda Mogg was the dressmaker/ruiner.

It was the best day of my life and my male best friend helped with music! And everything went just amazing.

I had a similar wedding but even more paired down. Pretty much everything was donated to us or free: my MIL thrifted my dress, a friend made a beautiful headpiece for me, my SIL made our cake, another friend took photos and we were especially blessed to have a cousin that was a celebrant. We chose a spot on a quiet beach with some public picnic tables and barbecues, got married under a tree with no seats, no music, no flowers, no bridal party, just our friends and family gathered around us while we read our vows and signed the paperwork. Then we cooked up and ate a bunch of food that had been prepared/donated by some of our guest and just generally enjoyed each other for the afternoon. It was absolutely lovely and we spent around $300, including the $250 to register the paperwork.

Yes, I've been watching Charlotte for ages and I don't think she's ever told a story about the CRAZIEST wedding she ever worked. I just presumed that the craziest wedding would be someone she still sees occasionally at social events who may or may not recognize themselves in the story. Plus, her style is more reactionary than storyteller BUT, now that it's been brought up and I'm sure we've ALL been very good followers of Charlotte this year, with just a few acts of pettiness doled out only to people who deserved it, hell, they practically BEGGED for the petty hammer to fall, so maybe Charlotte could gift us with a story(ies) of the worst 'zilla weddings she ever photographed!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Miss Charlotte. (I'm from the Deep South and I'm 58 years old, raised with proper Southern manners, where we "ma'am and sir or Miss or Mr." people to death. There's been such an influx of Northerners down here that most of those manners are almost gone. Kids don't even call their parents Mama and Daddy anymore, it's Mom or Dad. I know plenty of you will think that's because they're not small children anymore and I would posit something the "Rock" Dwayne Johnson would often say, "I DON'T CARE what your candy ass thinks", Mama and Daddy are warm, loving ways to address your parents regardless of age. I would also posit that while our Southern accent is often used for comedic purposes, it's also exquisite if used properly to convey anger, disgust, or derision. Just search RUclips for the best Julia Sugerbaker rants and you'll understand, her rants are comedic to the audience, but trust me, there's not a damn thing funny about it if you're on the receiving end of one. And, the person giving the rant better not see a smile or a smirk, because the politeness will get sucked right out of the room only to be replaced with penetrating silence and a coldness that reaches so deep inside, your blood does indeed run cold, and ice almost encapsulates your vital organs, regardless of the temperature outside. I've given and received such rants, and I promise that's the truth. The only reason the South remains a "red" state politically is the wealthy Northerners who used to be called "snowbirds" because they'd come down to the South to escape the frigid temperatures of their home state and they'd go back home when the heat would push the temperature into 3 digits Fahrenheit or high 30s or low 40s Celsius. However, the cost of living was such that they could afford to stay year-round so they moved permanently. And, then their kids would come to visit, and they'd find out that their Mama and Daddy weren't lying about the cost of living, pretty soon we started having gated communities. Locals were finding access to their favorite childhood lakes restricted unless they paid a fee or joined a c😊

When I had my wedding my younger sister had given birth three months earlier. I was stoked for her! My baby nephew was my ‘ring bearer’ (his Dad carried him down the aisle and he was wearing a little white onesie with a tiny green vest and bow tie to match my wedding colours, it was PRECIOUS!). I made sure her dress allowed her to wear the proper bra she needed and allowed for breastfeeding so the dress snapped open. Each of my bridesmaids had the ‘same’ dress but with the top half matching their body type - one had a one shouldered top, one was halter, one was thick strapped (for pregnancy bra and breast feeding). It’s literally not a big deal! The same happened at my SIL and brother’s wedding. We all had the ‘same’ dress with a big flower on it (it was GORGEOUS) that was placed differently for ew h of our body types - my sister has pretty much no chest, so her flower was on her bust; another had her flower on her waist; another had it on her shoulder, and another had it on the centre of her waist because she was newly pregnant and wanted to hide it.
