Charlotte, I wanna thank you for helping me bond with my dad.
I grew up in a bad home and he was always away. He got me out of there when I needed him to, but we never really bonded. We don't talk much despite having a lot in common (social anxiety, lockdown, both of us being autistic, all that jazz).
I started eating with him recently and I would play your videos while I eat. We started actively discussing stuff in your videos and then we started having active discussions about other things at other times. That only started because of your videos.

This is so wholesome! 😍 As this worked and you seem to have a lot in common, why not share other shows/channels that you enjoy with him and ask him what type of thing he likes to watch, so that you're both opening up to each other in a gentle, non-invasive way? Not everything will work, but things that are relatable and/or funny are often a hit when people have shared interests (things that match both of your senses of humour, for example), and will help you grow that parent-child relationship even stronger.
Wishing you and your dad all the very best 💖👍

My first husband cheated on me so many times, 42x in 18 months. So not only did I kick his sorry ass out very publicly, to Jojo’s ‘leave’ (I’m dating myself a bit). But I also cut off his left pant leg on every pair of pants, took his shoe laces, cut the tongues from his shoes, stole one sock out of every pair of socks, cut holes in his favorite ratty shirt, but I also posted to each of his family members the reason why it was done. His granny didn’t talk to him till our daughter was almost 10. None of his family liked him after that. In fact even his brother quit talking to him. I honestly didn’t want to break him from his family. That was never my intent, but they were done with him after that because he was just that horrible of a human. They finally talked to him again after he married the woman he cheated on me and on his other ex gf with. He still a cheater too. I tell his wife all the time she deserves better. She’s disabled and sick all the time and this man is still out here sticking things where they don’t belong.

The one about the dad giving advice when he cheated on the mom is so relatable for me.
My dad ran away with my godmother when I was 3, decides to ignore the fact that I exist anymore (because i'm his only daughter) he has 2 other kids with this homewrecker and has a 20+ year marriage. Just this past year, this woman goes and cheats on him and takes him to the cleaners for his pension, house, everything. At 54 years old he had to go move back in with his mother.
Everyone is saying I should feel sorry for him... but I don't. You threw me away for this woman and expect me to just welcome you back into my life? Expect me to give you a granddaughter (you have never even met your grandson ever) and life can be all hunky-dory? No.

      Agree 1000%
I think the ONLY way they're ever ok is if you have been discussing marriage, you're sure you're on the same page about it , and you know for sure the person would like a public proposal.
Like, if my husband had proposed on the jumbo tron, I would have been fine with that, we were head over heels in love and had discussed a long future together and even children.
But if my previous boyfriend had tried it, I think I would have literally run out of the building, lol

I hundred percent agree!! I can understand if the husband does something kind of like in the office where they tell her that he's going to propose somewhere and she's comfortable with that, but not where and when and so she gets to look forward to it, thats okay. However, unless it's a very specific exception public proposals are just awful. You're rolling the dice on whether your partner is at all OK with it, and for me personally, it would be causing me so much more stress.

Mine was during a night we were sitting at the table taking shots here and there, and visiting with our grown children. I was wearing a bunny suit onesie with the hood up (so I had giant pink ears on my head) and all of a sudden my love comes out of the kitchen with his hand in his pocket, leans down for a kiss, and swiftly moved to one knee. I must’ve looked quizzical, because he giggled and then our oldest (his first marriage) pulled out her phone and started snapping all the pictures. Me wearing a bunny suit, us all gathered and having fun in our home. Giving my life all of the fulfillment. I was so spilled over with love and happiness all I did was cry and blubber. And put on the ring. Lol

That last one reminded me of the crying fit my ex-husband pulled the day I was moving back home...with our two-year-old son.
I caught him cheating, he didn't even try to deny it. Four days later I packed up and moved home.
He, his father, and one of our neighbors came over to help me pack the truck.
He sat down in the now-empty living room, on the floor, and cried like a baby.
I just looked at him and said: "You did this."

Even if it’s just my kid (he’s a teenager) telling a story about how a kid at school threw a child-like fit or if my husband tells me yet again how his co-workers threw a fit over being told to wash their hands or over being sent home for being sick (they have _paid_ sick days, yet they still come to work with a fever and dripping snot everywhere. Wtf?).
I’ve been tempted to say it to my FIL’s face because lately he’s been going on a tirade because my son wears pink or paints his nails.
Only reason I haven’t is because he wouldn’t get it, so instead we just say goodbye to MIL and leave.

Y’know, like asking him if he needs his security blanket, or clucking your tongue and saying, “Someone needs a nap.” Possibly tell him if he doesn’t calm down he’s gonna have to go into time out. Jingle your keys in front of him and croon, “Look, buddy… shiiineey….”
That’s Boomers/Gen X level patronizing, from a member of Gen X. Seeing as how he would likely not care that pink’s gender associations are a societal construct and it is arguably weird for anyone to paint their nails but hardly serious either way.

The best revenge is really not needing revenge, because NOTHING hurts as bad as someone not giving a shit. I learned that from a guy I dated when I was young. When we broke up, I wrote him a letter and he later explained why it was a bad move and how nothing itself would have been more hurtful, but he knew he had gotten to me. I learned at 16. I remember a guy breaking up with me in college, he came to my house and made his little speech and I just asked "was that all? You can go, I have stuff to do." He later told me how bad that hurt him..... point proven. I don't give a shit anymore about people who don't deserve anything from me. Its freeing, once I let you go, you're gone and I forget you.

If this starting happening to me... yea, I'd walk out too because I wouldn't want this at all. But its not fair to all women to say it means something bad. Consent is key. As for the cheating, any man can do that even if he gives you the proposal you want. I'm sorry your ex cheated on you - especially after 20 years... there are plenty of decent men out there. Early in my parents marriage, my dad cheated on my mom. She gave him some ultimatums and he got his absolute shit together and I'm so grateful for them both doing that. They've now been married 52 years and have a great life in their retirement and a very happy marriage, my dad is utterly devoted to her. I love my dad so much and I can't imagine him not being there everyday for me growing up.

We all like to think we could dump his ass at that point, but like she said she invested in- and loved him devotedly for 2y at that point and JUST found out abt this cheating. I feel like it's good that she took the time to reassess everything, and all the love for her healing journey ❤

Because even though he hurts now, he definitely deserves real love, not guilty feeling fake and obligatory love for the next 30 years. She did a kind and loving thing by releasing him to find someone who'll have long term love for him. I'm sure they can now both find that now they are free.

I remember this time when I went to homecoming with an ex-best friend's cousin. I asked him to homecoming and he said that he was asked out already and already said yes but that if that plan fell through that he would go with me (He was unpopular as was I and he was asked out as a joke by a popular girl who thought it would be funny to just stand him up and I kinda already knew that this was going to happen) so I planned to go with him. The thing is, I didn't realize that he had a huge crush on me. Every time I came to hang out with my at the time best friend, he would come from next door and loiter around us. Long story short, we went to homecoming, he followed me around the entire night until we got picked up by his older cousin and my best friend. As soon as I got into the car, the atmosphere felt really weird. I noticed that his older cousin and my best friend kept staring at us through the mirrors. Eventually, we stopped at a red light and his older cousin told him if he didn't "do it now" that she would sit at the traffic light until he did. At that moment the traffic light turned green and we were at the front of the line and she didn't pull off. I'm looking at him and at everyone else in the car and he asks me to be his girlfriend. Everyone smiled then all eyes in the car were on me. I felt so embarrassed and pressured that I said yes. I shouldn't have, but I did. Everyone celebrated and was happy, except for me. I tried to make it work but after about two or three weeks, I just couldn't anymore and spoke to him about breaking up. I told him that I would be moving back to my home city after the school year anyway and how I needed to focus on finishing school in the first place. He originally said he understood and was okay with it, but about 10 minutes later, I was up where my best friend was and he had a whole different attitude, was crying and threatened to throw himself over the 3rd floor balcony and "end himself". I didn't know what to do, and he was trying to be manipulative and I got upset and I ended up walking off to class after telling him that he could do what he wanted. That was a horrible experience and if I had it to do over again, I never would have said yes in the first place.😓💔

I got such a second-hand embarrassment I had to like look around to make sure nobody was watching me watch that video LMFAO. That was just the most pathetic most childish display of anything ever. I hope she don't have kids with this man because that other baby mama, oh my god. If I was that baby I would be HELLA embarrassed to say that was my father. If I was baby mama I would never admit that I got pregnant by that dude. I would just say I don't know who my baby daddy is and raise that kid on my own LOL I have four children and not one of them have ever acted like this. Neither one of those women need a grown baby to raise.
