    You sir, have restored my faith in the modern generation. Nice job of explaining the tune without over complicating it.

    I was thinking ‘Oh great I’m going to learn the names of those notes and chords (& strings)’, only to learn Josh doesn’t know them either.

    Dude.... the fact that you don't know all the termonology was much more helpful to me than all the other banjo lesson videos..... descriptions like, "string closest to the ground" works great for me! I think I just learned this song...... gonna have to get my fingers used to doing it faster, but yeah.... Thanks! This was super helpful.

    Great work. I love that you're not using any of the fancy terms no one understands. This is how tutorials should be!

    Thank you, Josh! Best banjo instruction yet. Thanks for the pick pattern especially. I just can't do the three finger roll after playing 12 string the last three decades. All the best. Great work. Keep the videos coming. Thumbs up and I subscribed.

    Man, This video is great, and I'm glad you threw it up on youtube. Unfortunately my banjo pretty much imploded last night. I'll just fave this and save it for later. Thank ya in advance and once I get a new banjo I'll see about making a video response.
    You should do more tutorials. Very few people who do make them make them as clear and straight forward as you.
    I'd also like to say that is a Beautiful instrument! I said "Wow!" out loud when I saw the tuning head.

    Hi Josh, you make it sound easy which is encouraging. I'm a (mediocre) guitar player and I've decided to buy a banjo to play this kind of music and I'm interested in exploring a softer blues sound with a banjo rather than a full hoedown sound - although I hope there'll be occasions for that.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions / advice about what to buy if you've got time. I'm thinking of spending something like £300 on one which from the research I've done so far would be something reasonable.

    Whats the benefit to having a curved bridge on your banjo

    • @CraigRison
      @CraigRison 6 лет назад

      It's a "moon" style compensated bridge, It's for better intonation (then a straight bridge) there are other types of compensated bridges, the simplest just makes the G string a little longer than the rest - Grover uses just that and I like it - but havn't tried a moon yet

      Josh Turner I am a 63 year old who has played for my own peace of mind since I was 16. Still not too accomplished but I can play some pieces. LOVE your videos. All of songs I play regularly to unwind you and your friends have done...wonderfully. Great fun to watch and it makes me try to up my game a little....although my dogs and I are the only ones attending my concerts.😀 Thanks for the music. It makes me smile.
