Sarah is a master of the cover... check out her Prince cover on spotify or Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” at Bonnaroo a few years back, floating around on RUclips somewhere... was lucky enough to catch that one in person 😊
I would like to nominate two more for the live from here list. Sarah's renditions of Blue Heron and Hildegard of Bingen are just extraordinary. They can be currently seen on the Live from here site on RUclips, but I think they belong here.
@@guyfaulkes3035 The LFH playlist on Sarah's site only has a few choices by Sarah? from the Chris Thiele's LFH site on RUclips. The actual LFH site on RUclips has tons more material with our lovely Sarah on it, including the two mentioned above and many more.
@@charlesfritter9686 Thanks for the explanation - I was a little confused also. I'll look over the list on Sarah's page a little more thoroughly - but two noticeable omissions for me would be "House of Mercy" which I think I like better than the studio version - and the cover of Gillian Welch's "Time the Revelator"
It took me a week to figure out what it was. Sarah is channeling her inner Natalie Maines. That "Duh" could have come straight from a DC album. As some other commenter said, the woman is fearless.
Absolutely brilliant! Indeed there is good music and great musicianship being exhibited these days! Between Thile, Michael League (Snarky Puppy) and others music is in a wonderful place.

I gotta be honest. Maybe one day I'll see the light, but... there's a million songs I'd like to see these talented folks perform before Billie Eillish's name would ever cross my mind. Props to the bass player, though,
Her name came up because it was her 18th birthday, and because she's like the #1 female pop artist right now, bigger than Beyonce. Go figure. Musical taste is 100% subjective.
Now I know how my parents felt. I know that Eilish resonates with an entire generation but I. Don't. Get. It. Whether her originals or covers like this one, it doesn't matter. There's always been music I like and music I don't but this is neither. *sigh* Props to Thile for being able to embrace so many different types of music.
Yeah. I know what you mean...but I’m 67 and somehow I get a kick out of this music. Chris and Sarah love all kinds of music across nearly every genre. They nail it every time.
I've been honestly surprised by the number of people in older generations who have great things to say about Billie Eilish. I definitely wan't expecting it.
Live From Here will not be heard live from these places since 5 weeks ago but it will resume from these places in three weeks at its regular times zone bringing us music from Virginia as LFH bring the music to us. Now Tonight at 6pm from APM American Public Media and NPR National Public Radio, Chris and the gang and guest are Live From Home for two weeks and these youtube cameras are live via sattelites over the website and on youtube.com/watch and youtube.cm/music. that first home guest is all right here. So we'll #GetLiveFromHomeOn! on our home for #LiveFromHomeFix! StayHome, #StaySafe, #KeepSocialDistanceOn and #WashYourHandsDaily until the pandemic ends April 30th so we can see these relatives, people and friends and welcomers normally from being at arm's length. Now That how we felt good. More Music is @SarahJarosz an other sites. @BillieEilish is listening to what Sarah Jarosz cover that version.

@@ronster369 Just goes to show how subjective music taste is. I was a fan of Vampire Weekend before I'd ever heard of Billie Eilish and honestly liked When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? way better than Father of the Bride. To each our own!
Sorry.. Sarah might be having fun with this one, but it presents no challenge for her. Billie is okay, but this song is too simple. Maybe if they had bluegrassed it up a little, but.... nah
I like how Sarah has to pretend that she can't sing and how she has to minimize her vocal so she can do this like Billie, who really has almost no voice.
Listen to Eilish's earlier stuff like Ocean Eyes, before she adopted the idiosyncratic vocal style on her latest album. Although she's no Linda Ronstadt or Sarah Jarosz, she does have a decent singing voice and is capable of using it with normal volume.
Billie Eilish is not music, what she peddles is looped samples over "vocals" that aren't singing or even rapping; it describes like someone making a sleazy drunken pass at someone during a party.
Really,. What a bad song. Sarah covers a hell of a lot good artist. This one was the worst. Not saying she cant sing or play. Because of her she introduced me to buy a banjo. I hope in the future more bluegrass. No more this style of covers anymore.
This show is meant to cover a wide range of music, especially when they're doing songs for artists' birthdays. That means you're doing to hear things you don't like sometimes. Try to open your mind a bit.
Try being more open-minded. That's what art & music are supposed to do - expand people's horizons and explore new vistas. If all they did was bluegrass covers like you want, it would be BORING.
There's absolutely no genre in which Sarah Jarosz can't knock it out of the park.
How about death metal? Jk I get your point
It's a homer in 2023 !
@@francismcalister7811I have every confidence she would knock death metal out of the park too 😁

Freaking CORY WONG chillin in the back there 🤟🏻
Chris, Sarah, the band and a driving bass line prove once again that less is often truly more.
Sarah is just a stone delight.
That bass got it done.
Mike Elizondo doesn't mess around
clearly influenced from the gorillaz "feel good inc"
He rocks
Sarah Jarosz is the fricken greatest
Sarah is one of my fav female singers.
This should have 100 Million views.
Wow this is so good she totally nailed that and seeing Chris dance only makes it better lol
This made my day! I love this show and it got even better when Chris showed how open minded and educational he is! Props.
Congratulations Sarah on your Grammy for Best Americana Album of the year!!
I love this. Don’t know what it is, but I love it. DUH!
Consider Sarah one of the best, but really shows that what Billie does and makes look effortless is a lot tougher than some may think.
I agree with this so much. Exactly what I was thinking. This a real testament to Billie
Thile's open-ness terrifies me. Shakes up your notions.
Why am I just now hearing this for the first time! Huge Sarah fan before her days with I'm with her so this was so cool!
SO great - like a breathy acoustic cover of a breathy dark techno hit -
hey there may be an album in this!

DUH (yeah)!
FFS Sarah is totally fearless; Eilish is the big thing and she covers it down to the mic wiggle. Fun fun fun cover.
They should have brought a fan up on stage and sung through that like that one RUclips video. That would've been hilarious.
