I think the thing I love most about Sarah is that it looks like she understands she's 'just' another instrument in someone else's song. Watch how she just dissolves into the background when it's not her turn at the mic. Is she the "full send" in this version? Yes. I don't think she sees it that way. I mean look at her smile!
I love that she comes in in full voice. It was kind of startling, especially in light of the gentleness of the original version and most of the covers. Got my attention in a hurry! Killer version
@@Liofa73he's got the preamp hot enough to pick up the band standing far away, and she's right on the mic. That's why she sounds blown out, too. If you watch them when they play around a single mic, they're always backed off. Just something that happens with one-off appearances
The timing in this version is just magical. I mean damn. So much of the mandolin here was percussive, and Thile just brings it. I was skeptical bc the MA versions with various singers are so good. And SJ just pulls you into the song.
That full send voice!! This performance stands out as the best cover of the song I've heard. I keep listening to it. A thousand unstoppable giants slowly stepping towards me. She makes that song into a powerful creeping movement. Unreal!
Saw Sarah about a decade ago. It was Garrison’s last APHC tour. She rocked Dylan’s Ring Them Bells. This is a great cover of a fantastic and underrated band. The Punch Brothers (another APHC alum) are just fantastic.
This version of this song changed my life. Total and complete masters of their art. Every ONE of the band. Damn! Do you see the protagonist and antagonist in the dual between people? Holy fuck. And THAT VOICE! Thank you. ❤
Oh. My. Goodness. From this lineup, we'd know to expect technical mastery *and*inspired adoption of wildly cross-genre material. Even so, my expectations drop on the floor, replaced by "Wow." So the deep roots support strong new branches, particularly where Ms. Jarosz is involved.
It’s different from Elizabeth Fraser’s version, but there’s something to be said for this full-voice belted take. Pretty damn good version of such an iconic song.
“Crushes” is the right word, but not in the way intended. I usually love all these artists but ouch, I didn’t enjoy what they did to a truly awesome song. Original version 1000 x over.
She ate that up, y’all.
Legend has it that if you listen closely on a still, moonlit night, you can still hear her holding that last note.

Just saw Sarah on the Polaroid lovers tour. She includes this song in her set and it rocks the house!
She did such a great rendition

Facts!
But they're 'Annabelle Lee' literally ripped my soul out.
Happy to have been 10 feet from this woman singing.

I was the opposite. I think it’s too much. The sound engineer fucked up there.

Noticed the same exact thing
CHRIS BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN HER
The adaptation for acoustics is genius… the vocals are flawless… the creativity on the percussive strings are intense and dynamic 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A friend just shared this and I've watched it 6 times now. The energy, the way you all build it so beautifully, stunning!!
I've been sitting here with my jaw dropped so long after watching this that my tongue has got a parking ticket. That was SO good!
Such incredible talent. We're all really blessed to have Sarah!
Love it. And Sarah’s big smile at the end says she does too.
Don’t know if anything has ever been slayed to the level that these folks slayed “Teardrop” fucking magnificent!
Absolutely amazing
She is an amazing artist and one of my favorites
Sarah Jarosz is such an incredible singer, and this is a great version of this song.
Jarosz crushes everything. She is so talented.
Wow. That was something I didn't know I needed. Chris and Sarah just get one another.
That last note.... WOW
This is really good.

It’s so funny to see these two types of music, both of which I love, be blended into such a cool version.
Holy shit. Wow. Fantastic cover, that's coming from a HUGE Massive Attack fan. Incredible voice. I hope Elizabeth Fraser hears this someday.
Amazing! Sarah's voice has gotten so solid I think there's no equal.
Man, earworm city. Now I’ll be unconsciously humming this all afternoon….
One of my all time favorite songs- done by Sarah and the Punch Brothers???? Holy crap!
They are one of the best bands on the planet. No question. This was very nice
Suddenly I’m on another planet too bro !👽
That Is Incredible☝️
But..but..I'm lost for words! 🤯 🤩
powerful voice! sounds like Heaven!

Aurora’s the best cover. By a country mile.
Beautiful. Thank you
yowzers! this was epic…what a voice!

Bravo! Cheers from Texas.

Hauntingly beautiful!
What the heck, where were these people all the time? This is amazing!
You speak my very soul. 😢❤ And I love you all for that. It’s what I’m needing, especially now.
Honestly.
Mr big on the banjo kills this.
Dang!.... that was awesome!
Beyond good. Each one on stage is a virtuoso, this time Sarah gets the spotlight.
Indeed. What a set. All of em...

WOW!!
Wow. Unreal.
Yay Sarah!!!! xoxo
3-D, Daddy G, and Mushroom would all love this, as would Liz. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Chris is my new favorite drummer
the version she did on Prarie Home I liked too
This version of this song changed my life. Total and complete masters of their art. Every ONE of the band. Damn! Do you see the protagonist and antagonist in the dual between people? Holy fuck. And THAT VOICE! Thank you. ❤
Killer!
Smashed it
very nice

Unbelievable
Instant Crush
Get yourself to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, Lady☝️
Love you!
❤
LTFP, THANK AGAIN
Thanks for watching Bill!
Kudos to Paul Kowert on bass making great use of his extension. Not easy and perfectly in tune.
Adore and love PBroz but I have a new crush
Fantastic version. Check out Larkin Poe as well.
Killer, Mon Dieu!
😊😊😊😊
Like a minstrel band coming out of the the forest through the big front gate of an old medieval castle
I miss life in Vermont.
Dang
Not often you hear an all-percussion interlude on five stringed instruments...
Omg. Goosebumps edit: now there are tear tracks running down my cheeks. I think this song is about abortion, by the way
Sarah is brave to get near the mic while Chris is having those mandolin convulsions, lol
I love the mandolin convulsions!So cool 😎
It’s different from Elizabeth Fraser’s version, but there’s something to be said for this full-voice belted take. Pretty damn good version of such an iconic song.
WOW sIUper GREAT, but the Punch Bros. do a little more crushing over here ;-) !!
🤍💛🧡💗💚💙💜🤎🖤✌
This totally gives me Dr. House MD vibes just sayin
wait what?! :):)
Noice
I believe the translation of Curly's comment should read, "Nice!"
What is that guy doing??😂
“Crushes”?.. hmm.
As much as I am a fan of Sarah ja Chris, every Teardrop cover after AURORA just seem kind of tame
I love her vocals & the music, but the violin bouncing was not my cup of tea.
My god, Chris Thile is so awkward.
“Crushes” is the right word, but not in the way intended. I usually love all these artists but ouch, I didn’t enjoy what they did to a truly awesome song. Original version 1000 x over.
Nope
Sorry, everything about this is awful.
Terrible
Dam sarah well done
