Agreed, the buildup in ACI was already great and then we see that there were so many references to the Apple of Eden in artwork and older civilizations.
The voice actor for Ezio is incredible. The amount of passion in his voice. He has made him one of the best characters in gaming history. Obviously game developers deserve a lot of cred to. Altaïr was a cool character and loved in that game he wasn't a typical good guy. Loved his arrogance and watching him grow as a character. But how they made there second main hero not just likeable but loveable is incredible and a massive accomplishment.

This was my first game when I got my ps3 in 2009 for Christmas. I played the first one shortly after this, however AC2 is still my favorite. It had this mystery to it because we knew so little about who or what the first civilization was and how they predicted Desmond would see these messages in his own ancestors memories was mind blowing. After ac3 they totally dropped the ball on the modern day story.
AC 2 was the best game ever. AC 1 left big shoes to fill but AC 2 surpassed it. Young Ezio, his family, the public exec, the promise for revenge, the personal vendetta (compared to political asasinations for Al Mualim to bring peace to the holy land) of taking down all those who ended half your family, rebuilding the town of montereggioni, traveling to san gimignano, to forli, to venezia, and then analyzing all those paintings, finding apples of eden in the hands of so many historical figures, subect 16's glyphs, realizing something much greater is going on, traveling to rome, finding out the big bad borgia guy has actually managed to become the pope and finding out why, and then this ending. All paired with that soundtrack. The best game in the entire series.

Just finished playing AC Valhalla thinking that the story was pretty good. Then I came to watch this and it came back to me how amazingly good was the story and AC2 in general. It was so mind blowing. Ubisoft never managed to create character so good as was Ezio Auditore Da Firenze.

That's all fun in a gameplay perspective but it's a drawback when you are trying to create a good story. Ofcourse that is just my opinion.

Despite what Assassin’s Creed has become now, I still love this era of the franchise, more specifically AC1 to AC: Revelations, and AC: Black Flag. This was the golden age when story-telling and innovation was being pushed.
I have finished this game so many times and I always love playing and watching the ending over and over again! I doubt there will be any assassins creed game that will ever top assassins creed 2 this game was and still is amazing with a true assassin creed feeling I find.
After 10 years playing AC2 in PC , I realized that it has some advantages, rather than PS. Especially in performing wall jumps in visitazione's secret and fightings. but had faced problems in free-runs. Video owner has serious pro skills in combat.
This is one of the best storylines iv ever played. I really like how it incorporates real history too it and all the conspiracy theories like the assassination of jfk. It kinda feels like Ubisoft is telling US the TRUTH

After 10 years playing AC2 in PC , I realized that it has some advantages, rather than PS. Especially in performing wall jumps in visitazione's secret and fightings. but had faced problems in free-runs. Video owner has serious pro skills in combat.

This is one of the best storylines iv ever played. I really like how it incorporates real history too it and all the conspiracy theories like the assassination of jfk.

The Templars are at the modern day! They could have been smart enough to use guns to kill Desmond. In fact, everyone could have been smart enough to use guns.
