EVERYONE WAS EXPECTING THAT, I was DEVASTATED at the end of the movie, learning that it didn't and wouldn't happen anymore. Lost a great opportunity. Not to Luke tho, I really was expecting Anaking to show up and talk to Kylo.
To be fair, Snokes powers in TLJ were more savage. But I think Palpatine is probably still the most powerful. Sidious once nearlly destroyed a planet with lighting, or was that legends?
When Ben is in the room looking at the horizon, he throws his saber at the wall, turning everything dark and then red, but after he hears his mother through the Force, white sparks come out and illuminate the room, blinking, as if it's his kindness still. inside, giving signs that he was not entirely evil, as if goodness was screaming. Nice idea of you.
I nearly went insane when I heard Anakin's voice. And at the end too, because Luke looked so much like his father! This could be canon, it's so well done!
The light in the room, followed by the red glow after he throws his saber, then the flickering of the light being there after Leia speaks to him, mirroring his conflict. Great storytelling

The part with leia when she tries to reach to Kylo when he is captured shows how conflicted Kylo was even watching the rise of Skywalker makes that scene even more meaningful
Luke thinks Snoke is more powerful, but he doesnt really know that. He just believes he is. So what he said was true, from a certain point of view. Also: I AM THE SENATE!!!
That little bit of dialogue where Luke says that Snoke made him try to kill his nephew is FAR more believable than Luke succumbing to sheer fear. It goes full circle too, with Anakin also being plagued by visions that ultimately caused his downfall. Like father, like son. GREAT JOB ❤️
I am absolutely blown away with this. The musical cues were genius, the animation was stellar, the voice acting was outstanding, and the entire thing fits nicely into the story as we know it so far. Amazing job.
I'm, simply put, shocked. The voice actor selection was spot on, the soundtrack, sound design, plot, ALL OFF IT. So much emotion being portrayed. Bravo. You've truly made a starwars fan happy.

The pain in both Luke and Leia's eyes when he tells her Ben has turned to the dark side is amazing, you have captured the pain and emotion so well! My gosh you can do more of these please, maybe a re-make to the ending of TROS cas after seeing how Disney ruined it, I'd be happy to rwatch a re-make.
It actually makes a lot of sense. His mom was the one with such high expectations for him, I doubt it was Han who named him Ben after Obi-Wan. His Skywalker part of the family always expected him to become this hero Jedi as his namesake was. Meanwhile, while growing up Ben always said he wanted to be a pilot like his dad. His dad was the "not-special/gifted" part of the family. He was just Han (the was hero, yes. But just Han) and Ben wanted that, he wanted to be "normal" just like his dad... he just wanted to be a pilot and fly ships. It was him being born a Skywalker that messed everything in his life.

By my opinion, Rise of Kylo Ren comics is better than this fan film, because there much better idea how Ben became evil. Killing former leader of Knights of Ren is better than just throwing saber.
Amber White I hope the same thing! The entire saga is based on Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader so that Lucas talks about “The tragedy of Dart Vader” for the 6 films .. so is necessary that he will be in the Rise of Skywalker !!!
WOW! The Throne Room scene looks really awesome, with the slightly darker room and shaded off praetorians. It fits well with Snoke's The Force Awakens outfit. There is a nice concept art piece of this in the Art of The Last Jedi.
Because money isn't involved. Because bottom lines are involved. It's a fan with their desire to make something that they love about star wars into reality.

Disney needs to get do more in between episodes spin-offs with the OT cast and show us what happened in the 30 year gap Favorite moment was when Luke talked to the force ghosts and Leia and Luke farewell made me cry ... amazing powerful writing and animation! It's the most bittersweet moment to finally witness Luke lifting the X-Wing...only so he can submerge it as it was on Dagobah. He truly believes that by removing the Jedi from the galaxy, balance will be returned and the galaxy, perhaps even Ben, will be saved. Amazing work to everyone involved in this project! I'm gonna burn this on a DVD for my home collection!
How would balance return if he allowed the Dark to flourish? Leaving Ben corrupted and a power-hungry Snoke to their own devices sound like "bringing balance" to you?
@@8DarthGhost8 Because Luke knew, as Snoke did, that whenever the Dark Side grows, The Force/The Light Side grows as well. Natural balance in the Force.
Very skilled and professional direction and editing. Well done! It is a skill that is unfortunately lacking in the majority of fan film productions out there. Notwithstanding this is all CGI, there is genuine talent on display here: interesting camera angles, good use of motion vs fixed camera shots, good use of lighting, great editing and even a refreshingly original use of the Star Wars swipe between scenes. I hope someone in Hollywood has taken notice.
I just watched this again after seeing The Rise of Skywalker. This film is beautifully made. The creators' passion for Star Wars is evident. I'm looking forward to more work from Ian-Luke Production!
The first minute I saw the animation quality I won’t lie I said man this is gonna suck, but I started to enjoy the rawness, the grittiness. It felt natural. This is some fantastic work Ian. Great job to all. Even though I don’t think Luke would leave as he did, I wished we could’ve gotten the scene where he puts the X-Wing in the water. It was a beautiful call back that we deserved among other things.

Holy sh!t...this has to be one of the best fan films I've ever seen! The animation, the music, the storytelling...it's all perfect. Sir, you did in 15 minutes what disney couldn't do in three movies! You entertained me...bravo sir....bravo.

If you replace that scene, you'll miss out on the whole "save the animals" part and how little sense it makes as they went down there to find a guy that wasn't even there in the first place.

@@mattfairfield9103 I'm not saying that all fan films are stellar?? They aren't? But there are a good handful that treat the Star Wars IP with more care than Disney has with the sequels. This one adds to that short list. If you gave such fans a 100 million dollar budget I can almost guarantee that they would make something truly remarkable and better than Disney's sequel trilogy. That's what I was saying. Still, there is something to appreciate in nearly all the fan films and that is the effort or love for Star Wars of the fan to atleast attempt to tell a Star Wars story even if the execution ends up being dreadful. I'm not sure what you expect from passion projects.
@@mattfairfield9103 Check out Vader: Shards of the Past from Star Wars Theory, Sc. 38 from fixitinpost, and Darth Maul: Apprentice by T7pro. They are all movie quality (or near movie quality) works and are very very well done. I'm assuming these are the fan films that Striker Frost is referencing. The others (and I've seen nearly all of them) range somewhere from terrible to decent. These 3 are AMAZING. Edit: And of course this one :)

Seeing how good this is, I can't wait for Filoni and crew to get their hands on this timeline. The way the Clone Wars completely helped me come to terms with the flaws of the prequels, an official animated show could do the same for the sequel trilogy.
What are the flaws of the prequels? I just started watching Star Wars a few months ago. I binge watched all the movies, Rebels, and the clone wars in about a month. Now I have moved on to reading. I actually really like the prequels more than the sequels
@@amandam120 the dialogues and writing could be done better, it's not piss poor but it's mediocre. But the whole prequel is carried by solid premise and Revenge of the sith.

Absolutely beautiful fan film. As of now, this is canon to me and I'm sure when Lucasfilm goes deeper into what happened, it'll be very similar if not the same.
I hope they use this as a blueprint for whatever they do to tell this story, if not actually have the writer of this actually write it. I would want them to keep it animated, but in a more realistic style (like this, Battlefront 2, Force Unleashed-Jedi Fallen Order-basically one big video game cutscene movie that had an insane amount of money put into it) than previous animated stuff since Carry Fisher is dead and I don't want to see her, or any of the main characters, recast in a live action movie, unless they use CGI like in Rogue One. Chances are, they wouldn't do that, so I think animated should be how they do it, but without ruining it with stylized versions of everything and everyone, like in Rebels, Resistance, and, to a much lesser extent, Clone Wars. This is something they should throw their Disney money at and not let a budget constrain them.. An animated stand alone movie similar to this could make Lucasfilm some serious goddamned money.
@Stoneryoda 937 What? This video is just a visualisation of what occurred in the movies as extended flashbacks or was explained by the characters. Snoke had been manipulating his mind for years, there's no reason why he would surrender as a prisoner. Did you watch the movies?

I believe Disney should pay you for covering their character's backstory. Not that I have a problem with them, but this video really helps cover kylo's backstory
This is an absolute masterpiece! The voices are all spot on! THIS is what the Sequel Trilogy should have focused on! Ben’s fall, and Luke’s exile! If only this had been in TFA or TLJ, I might have liked those films a lot more. Excellent work! This feels like Star Wars! And that is a task that’s hard to pull off.

Very well made! I was afraid this might be one of those cases where the Star Wars "fan" is so displeased by the recent movies and tries to change things arround how he/she belives things should be. Im really glad i was wrong, as this ties into the story of the movies really well
I love the red on one side of his face and light on the other. It shows he's falling to the dark side like grandfather did before him yet there is still goodness in him and I love hearing Vader's theme when he tosses his lightsaber and he's angry. Snoke or shall we say Sidious didn't fully drive the goodness away from him. You think after he committed patricide he'd feel better about it but he didn't he was conflicted and it was the Skywalker in him saying "Why did I do this? My father loves me. My mother loves me, I was my uncle's best student. Why?"

My only complaint is that it didn’t start with a starship battle
for me its just that is so slow, i get that the animation is very smooth but it just feels uncanny being so slow

The fact that you don't show Anakin and instead use a shining light is pretty cool. It adds more grandeur to the character, i think.
This was a much better reveal of Leia’s force capabilities than Mary Poppins flying through space. Subtle and tasteful

It's the most bittersweet moment to finally witness Luke lifting the X-Wing...only so he can submerge it as it was on Dagobah. He truly believes that by removing the Jedi from the galaxy, balance will be returned and the galaxy, perhaps even Ben, will be saved. Amazing work to everyone involved in this project! I'm gonna burn this on a DVD for my home collection!

Very skilled and professional direction and editing. Well done! It is a skill that is unfortunately lacking in the majority of fan film productions out there. Notwithstanding this is all CGI, there is genuine talent on display here: interesting camera angles, good use of motion vs fixed camera shots, good use of lighting, great editing and even a refreshingly original use of the Star Wars swipe between scenes. I hope someone in Hollywood has taken notice.
I just watched this again after seeing The Rise of Skywalker. This film is beautifully made. The creators' passion for Star Wars is evident. I'm looking forward to more work from Ian-Luke Production!

The first minute I saw the animation quality I won’t lie I said man this is gonna suck, but I started to enjoy the rawness, the grittiness. It felt natural. This is some fantastic work Ian. Great job to all. Even though I don’t think Luke would leave as he did, I wished we could’ve gotten the scene where he puts the X-Wing in the water. It was a beautiful call back that we deserved among other things.

@@mattfairfield9103 I'm not saying that all fan films are stellar?? They aren't? But there are a good handful that treat the Star Wars IP with more care than Disney has with the sequels. This one adds to that short list. If you gave such fans a 100 million dollar budget I can almost guarantee that they would make something truly remarkable and better than Disney's sequel trilogy. That's what I was saying. Still, there is something to appreciate in nearly all the fan films and that is the effort or love for Star Wars of the fan to atleast attempt to tell a Star Wars story even if the execution ends up being dreadful. I'm not sure what you expect from passion projects.

They are all movie quality (or near movie quality) works and are very very well done. I'm assuming these are the fan films that Striker Frost is referencing. The others (and I've seen nearly all of them) range somewhere from terrible to decent. These 3 are AMAZING.

Seeing how good this is, I can't wait for Filoni and crew to get their hands on this timeline. The way the Clone Wars completely helped me come to terms with the flaws of the prequels, an official animated show could do the same for the sequel trilogy.
Just imagine if they made a series to fix the sequels...
What are the flaws of the prequels? I just started watching Star Wars a few months ago. I binge watched all the movies, Rebels, and the clone wars in about a month. Now I have moved on to reading. I actually really like the prequels more than the sequels
@@amandam120 the dialogues and writing could be done better, it's not piss poor but it's mediocre. But the whole prequel is carried by solid premise and Revenge of the sith.
They should make a game about this story and uses these as the cutscenes.

Absolutely beautiful fan film. As of now, this is canon to me and I'm sure when Lucasfilm goes deeper into what happened, it'll be very similar if not the same.
I hope they use this as a blueprint for whatever they do to tell this story, if not actually have the writer of this actually write it. I would want them to keep it animated, but in a more realistic style (like this, Battlefront 2, Force Unleashed-Jedi Fallen Order-basically one big video game cutscene movie that had an insane amount of money put into it) than previous animated stuff since Carry Fisher is dead and I don't want to see her, or any of the main characters, recast in a live action movie, unless they use CGI like in Rogue One. Chances are, they wouldn't do that, so I think animated should be how they do it, but without ruining it with stylized versions of everything and everyone, like in Rebels, Resistance, and, to a much lesser extent, Clone Wars. This is something they should throw their Disney money at and not let a budget constrain them.. An animated stand alone movie similar to this could make Lucasfilm some serious goddamned money.

This is an absolute masterpiece! The voices are all spot on! THIS is what the Sequel Trilogy should have focused on! Ben’s fall, and Luke’s exile! If only this had been in TFA or TLJ, I might have liked those films a lot more. Excellent work! This feels like Star Wars! And that is a task that’s hard to pull off.

I was afraid this might be one of those cases where the Star Wars "fan" is so displeased by the recent movies and tries to change things arround how he/she belives things should be.

I love the red on one side of his face and light on the other. It shows he's falling to the dark side like grandfather did before him yet there is still goodness in him and I love hearing Vader's theme when he tosses his lightsaber and he's angry. Snoke or shall we say Sidious didn't fully drive the goodness away from him. You think after he committed patricide he'd feel better about it but he didn't he was conflicted and it was the Skywalker in him saying "Why did I do this? My father loves me. My mother loves me, I was my uncle's best student. Why?"
