Of course the church is the people but the building represent the stone and the foundation of St. Peter and St. Paul. The architectural grow from the early persecuted Christians to constantine reign until the renaissance to this day. It symbolised our grow in faith. Its not that the church is grand, its the idea of many people to combine culture and history on one building. Not like protestants kept making excuses lol

The real code of Christianity is to obey Jesus in all He taught in the 4 gospels, including forsaking all in the start. Luke 9, 11, 12, 14, 18. Matthew 7. Work for God instead of money and preach the gospel! Matthew 6, Matthew 28. Take heed and be careful, go to another place if you are persecuted in another one. Matthew 10. The teachings of Jesus are the Way to Life, not wordplay but obedience. John 14, bless.

@Romela Dorado Good sir/madam I am impressed with your knowledge and your accurate factual statements. though I may not agree on some points and some of the facts that you have laid out I do say that you did good research.
I disagree on a few points and I will therefore lay my arguments to some of the facts you have said and bare them to you. as a few follower and Christian in Christ.
firstly the first biblical canon was made by the Catholic Church church, that the Catholic church never destroyed Bibles, that the Bible was first compiled in the late 3rd century, that the protestant Bibles were worse or wrongly translated compared to the Catholic Bibles, that there was only one form of Christian thought that was followed by everyone that it was Catholic Christianity,That the apostles remains are in rome, that without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible for Other Christians, that the oldest Bible is the vulgate with the codex Vaticanus, and that there was only one universal church.
First argument: Catholicism made the the first biblical canon.
Actually that is factually wrong, the first ever recorded form of a biblical canon was the the Marcionite canon not Catholic which was made in the the 2nd century. Though I don't agree to their beliefs I do see that they were influential due to the fact they were the first ones to try and finish a compiled version of the Bible. Marcion of Sinope was the the first to introduce the concept of of Christian canon, to which the Catholic Church didn't agree with the Canon, banned the canon, expelled Marcion from the church, and made their own version after they saw how influential Marcion's canon was.
Second Argument: That the Catholic Church never burned Bibles.
The Catholic Church burned may Different Bibles, the Burning of the Bibles And Scrolls of the Arian Church (After 325CE), Prinscillian Bibles (After 385), Nestorian Bibles (After 435), Cathar Bibles (during the 13th century), Lollard Bibles (1401) and Waldensian Bibles. Though Catholics would say that all of them were Heretical they still had some Christian writings in them like the book of Mark, Luke, and others more but they just burned or destroyed them. Though I don't agree with Arianism, Prinscillianism, Nestorian, and Cathar beliefs they still had some books of the Bible we use but they were just burned. for the lollard bibles they were just latin vulgate Bibles translated into the vernacular so that those that can't read latin can read the Bible, while the waldensian Bibles were in latin but they preached in vernacular.
Third argument: the Catholics made the biblical canon during the 3rd century.
No as I said in the statement on the first argument Marcion was the first to compile the scrolls and made a Bible canon during the 2nd century. Not Catholic but another form of a Christian (though not someting I'd agree with) and not in the 3rd century but in the 2nd.
Fourth argument: That Protestant Bibles are worse or Translated poorly compared to Catholic Bibles.
This simply is not True, Catholic Bibles are beautiful in a lot of things but as it was in Latin it wasn't really too clear the Latin translation that St. Jerome was tasked with by Pope Damascus in 382CE was from Older Latin Bibles that were in circulation so that there would be an order to the Latin Bibles, but not really too clear due to it coming from Latin translations to only a single latin translation, which made it hard not knowing which one of the translations was correct. compared to Greek Translations Latin Translations were nothing, The apostles' writings were actually first written in aramaic and greek so greek translations were much clearer in context then latin was. the Best greek translation was the Greek new testament which were from the original New Testament Scrolls which were in greek. during the Reformation the translations the Reformers translated their Bibles were from the Greek New Testament, and the Latin Vulgate. but The King James Version was done with a 6 panels of translators, 47 men in all, most were leading Scholars of Biblical Scripture the others were jews the for Old testament. off of which the New testament in Greek while Hebrew and aramaic for the Old testament were the scrolls used in the translation.
Fifth argument: there os only one church and its the Catholic Church.
No its not only the Catholic Church, theres the various religious groups like the Donatist, Nestorian, Arian, Waldensian, Coptic, Ethiopian Orthodox, Nasrani, Oriental Orthodox, Church of the East, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, And a bunch of Other Churches. And to be honest Catholicism as a Faith distinct was only separated in The Great Schism with the Orthodox Patriarchs before that they were together in a council Church as the Chalcedonian Church. so in reality there were a lot of churches already.
Sixth argument: that the remains of 12 of the 14 the apostles is in rome.
That is highly unlikely, due to the fact of the places where the apostles died and the fact that the holy relics as well as saintly bones as such are very improbable to be even theirs in the first place. edit: (Continue)

    • @francobienlecias5830
      @francobienlecias5830 3 года назад

      @Romela Dorado
      (Continuation)
Thomas died in India, James the Great in Jerusalem, Simon the Zealot died either in Suanir Persia or in Samaria, Philip the Apostle died in Hierapolis Turkey, Jude Thaddeus died in the Kingdom of Armenia, John the beloved no one know where he died but is highly thought of to be in Ephesus, Matthew the Tax-collector it either in Ethiopia, or in Hierapolis, Andrew died in Patras Greece, James the Less died in Ostrakine (toda El Felusiyat) in Egypt, Bartholomew died in Albanopolis Caucasia, Peter and Paul died in Rome. So it is very unlikely that their remains are in Rome due to all the distance need to collect their remains and the the fact that they were jews means that the burial is processed so that means it is highly unlikely due to them being buried with their family or the place where they died. And During the middle ages there was a lot of saintly fakes like the three heads of peter one in rome, one in spain and one in Germany.
Seventh Argument: without the Catholic Church there would be now Bible.
Actually, even if the Catholic Church had no bibles we would still have Bibles, we could have greek bibles or we would have scrolls rather than having the Catholic Bibles there are still many Churches and as well as groups so there will most definitely other translations not just the Catholics.
Eighth argument: the Vulgate is the oldest Bible translation.
No there have been many others before that in fact the Pope Tasked St. Jerome to Make a translation from the other latin translations so that they could get a order and singularity,
Ninth argument: There is only one Universal Church.
No there have been many groups before and now even today more groups and styles of Christianity some nearer to heresy then according to the Orthodox Beliefs of the Catholics, Protestants and Orthodoxies.
Thats all my counters to the wrong facts but beside from those you did really Good work Sir/madam.
Edit: You Did Great Good sir/madam

    • @francobienlecias5830
      @francobienlecias5830 3 года назад

@Romela Dorado Good sir/madam I would like to say that I am Not a Heretic. Good sir/madam let me ask you then what makes a heretic to you.
well for me heresy as well as heretics, are the beliefs or theory that is strongly at different with established belief. now let me ask you what makes me a heretic?
you said southern baptists are heretics, but what in the scriptures can you point out that you are correct and sure that we are heretics. but can you really prove that we are heretics, with scripture from the old and new testaments.
ok let's lay out the beliefs
firstly we believe that there is only one God which is God the Father, the creator of all things. And in Jesus Christ our Lord, the son of God, begotten of the father, the light of lights, very much God, begotten not made, whom is the same spirit and essence with the Father; off of whom all thing were made; who for us sinners, came down and became incarnate and was made man for our salvation; He suffered then on the third day He rose again and went to Heaven; and from there he'll come and judge the living and the dead; with his kingdom having no end. we believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord and Giver of Life; whom comes and proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified; who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in that there is only one Holy Church (which is the gathering of the spirits and souls of the true believers together to Christ the Lord.) we believe and agree upon one baptism for the forgiveness of ones sins. we believe in the resurrection of the dead as well as the life of the world that is to come.
Let me ask you which of those beliefs is heretical? if you know the Nicene creed you'd see we are the same in our core beliefs, in the beliefs of our forefather christians of the first century we are both of the orthodoxy but the only difference in in structure and the traditions.
In structure we believe in a believers church, and that there should be no higher authority than the Bible Because we believe the Bible is God's word therefore his living word, Jesus is also talking through. we abandon Church hierarchy as hierarchy was what Differed Jesus and and Pharisees (where Jesus became a threat to their power due to his growing number of believers and that they saw him as being a false teacher because he was not a part of the learned priests, even if he preached and held the same concepts the Pharisees had). That with hierarchy (the truth of God's forgiveness as grace is hidden) with the abuse of the believers like in the indulgence crisis, where the Pope Leo X got money for his artworks and his unworthy pursuits (such as masquerades, jests, fowling, hunting, as well as possible sodomy of young handsome men) from indulgences from believers that wished their family would not be burning in purgatory ( also purgatory is not stated once in the Bible ).
And in Traditions not Held in the Bible and were most likely made by man. Just like in Mark 7:1-13 which Jesus Condemn the pharisees. which is also why Jesus was against the structure the Pharisees held, and is our basis as to why we don't have a hierarchy.
      Mark 7:1-13 [NIV]
[vs: 1] The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus and
[vs: 2] saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were “unclean,” that is, unwashed.
[vs: 3] (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.
[vs: 4] When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.)
[vs: 5] So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with ‘unclean’ hands?”
[vs: 6] He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
      [vs: 7] They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.’
[vs: 8] You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.”
[vs: 9] And he said to them: “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
[vs: 10] For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
[vs: 11] But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: ‘Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God),
[vs: 12] then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother.
[vs: 13] Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”
And so Because of this verse we only follow traditions found in the Bible like Baptism, marriage, Communion(though we don't believe that the bread is literary Jesus' body as in transubstantiation which Catholics practice). we also don't believe in Child baptisms because a child can't decide on being a Christian as a baby therefore the baptism won't have any meaning to it there won't be the faithful Choice of becoming a Christian. we also believe in Clerical marriage/Pastors can marry because the Bible doesn't disagree on that but instead says go for it, 1 Corinthians 7:5-9.
      1 Corinthians 7:5-9 [NIV]
[vs: 5] Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
[vs: 6] I say this as a concession, not as a command.
[vs: 7] I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
[vs: 8] Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.
[vs: 9] But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
Also good sir/madam we Don't believe and worship John Smyth infact most Baptists don't even know who he is. we also don't believe that one should worship men so which is why we have also rejected the way Catholics make people saints and venerate their bodies, tombs and artifacts. so we believe instead that all who are faithful to God is a saint not just a single person that would make people bow and worship to them. so we don't really have proper sainthood and that kind of veneration as Catholics to saintly figures because if everyone is a saint there would be no hierarchy on who is higher in belief. because in all honesty believers are all the same just that what they do with that beliefs is different. We also don't believe in icons or statues because they don't reflect the real Jesus and were done after the start of the 3rd century so the Face of Jesus is a mystery and no one can say for sure that those are actually his face so we just don't add them in fear we're making idolatry with that. as well as the fact that in the early days Jesus' face is different to the ones in the middle ages so we're really skeptical if those images are actually accurate and if they can even be used without it becoming Idolatry.
also good sir/madam there have been many movements of Christianity like our beliefs even before Martin Luther, like the Hussite Movement, Waldensian Movement, Lollard movement, and The other Pre-reformation movements,
for all you said before above is all accusation and no valid proof in Us being Heretics so might I ask good sir/madam How might I and my Southern Baptist Brothers and Sisters be Heretics?

Bernadette Kennedy I think Stotts has a Protestant (Zondervan) bias. Anglicans form a very small diocese consisting of most 'low church' members, and among their parishes they have different theologies. The story of the work of the French missionaries in Singapore and South-east Asia was completely left out. Their work in Singapore alone resulted in 32 parishes with schools, charities, homes and hospices of repute. As for Stotts comments on Christianity in this part of the work where I come from, it is very wanting: (a) Timor may be a trouble spot but it does have the highest Catholic per capita in the world, (b) Philippines is already know for their declining faith numbers but remains staunchly Catholic, (c) the regions of East Indonesia comprising Sulawesi and Papua are mostly Christian and Catholic, too. (d) Vietnam has a large Catholic population still struggling under Communist rule, and (e) Myanmar has a large Catholic community, and a largely Christian population partially oppressed in the past by the junta located in the East, the Shan Plateau. The Catholic communities in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei form one conference of bishops, and the work of the church is vibrant. So this episode seem to have missed a lot... each of these territories received the Gospel through various missionary efforts regardless of 'confession' and are still building up the faith in South-east Asia, battling both the rise of fundamentalist Islam and secularism. Keep us in prayer.

I don't know if this was the intent, but it appeared to me watching this video that Catholicism and Christianity were both called Christianity around the 2:40 mark, and right after it spoke of a spread of the gospel, and in the context of the video someone could take that to be speaking of the Catholic church spreading the gospel. I have only been to a Catholic church once, and witnessed with my own eyes and ears a message that seemed to state "everyone goes to heaven", and not a Biblical gospel message that we are saved by the grace through faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, which Jesus accomplished on the cross so that the righteousness of God could be given to those who would believe in Jesus and we could inherit eternal life only by that. My first hand experience with Catholicism was not good, and one I saw that would lead people astray from the truth of salvation as I have read in the Bible. I cannot speak for all Catholic churches.

Protestantism is a relatively new phenomenon in relation to the rest of the faith within Catholicism and Orthodoxy, and generally has an entirely foreign concept of salvation to what the apostles and the early church actually held to. We’ve got a bit more credentials on that end, so don’t throw stones.

@@georgelabe-assimo4365 How do you believe someone is saved? I'll share with you what I have found in the Bible -
You will have eternal life if you place your belief and faith in Jesus Christ who is the sacrifice for sin (for all people have sinned against God except Jesus Christ), Jesus Christ is God in human flesh (according to John 1, and other places which point to this reality). In placing our faith/trust in Jesus Christ our sin is made right before God and the righteousness of God is given to that person. An evidence this is genuine will be that you can "tell a tree by it's fruit" as the Bible says, meaning that when you observe a persons life, does what they say and do show they have their faith in Christ and are seeking to obey him - not to say they don't still sin, but what happens when someone is saved is that they turn away from sin to Christ. Paul in the Bible would be an excellent example of this if you read the story of his life as to the change that happens in someone's life when they place their faith in Christ and turn from sin. In fact Paul called himself the foremost of sinners. So God provided salvation from the punishment of sin which is eternal separation from God. And it is this salvation that the Bible says is by "grace" which is defined as an undeserved gift from God (see Ephesians 2).
      OR -
You will spend eternity apart from God in a place described as an eternal suffering and be thrown into a lake of fire if you do not place your faith and belief in Christ to take the penalty for your sin (based on verses referenced and quoted below). These people will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day Jesus comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed (based on 2 Thessalonians 1). If you bear no "fruit" then it is observed by others that you are not in fact a believer of Christ, and if you say you are there is legitimate cause for concern.
(And don't be deceived that Christ has come back before he has, it won't be hidden somewhere where you have to go to see it, it is rather compared to a lightning bolt that illuminates the whole sky based on Matthew chapter 24)
Here are some other biblical sections that tie directly into this topic. I personally have grown to trust the ESV version, there are some versions that can be misleading I find.
Matthew 25:31-45 (Also read the whole chapter of Matthew 25, it's powerful)-
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Luke 13:"He went on his way through towns and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem. And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’ In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out. And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God. And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”"
Also see the following verses (I can't quote them as the reply isn't able to be posted if I do)
      Luke 13
      Revelation 20
      Matthew 25:1-13
      Luke 16:19-31
I believe what you said about at least some protestants is incorrect if they preach a biblical view of salvation which I have found to be more the case than with the Catholic church I have been to. The apocrypha books of the catholic Bible may lead people astray based on my initial looking into those, although it is not extensive.
