@@Sherwood.Photography can you please share me the reviews of the samyang lens how it functions in wedding about auto focus also it would really help me about buying the lens
It's really is magnificent. Coolest feature is ability to customize focus ring, setting it to linear, and choose custom degrees of focus travel in the app. With very little breathing it's the best hybrid (video/stills) lens for sony I've seen yet
I'm very satisfied with this lens. It delivered what I needed for an event using it on the A1. At one point, I did have to pull out the old 70-200 GM for that extra reach. So, I had the A7Siii with the GM and the A1 with the Tamron. The Tamron AF felt like the old GM AF which is a testament to how good this lens is with motors that are being used for the amount of glass in the lens. Very pleased with the results I got. Now, if only Sony would get the 70-200 GM II shipped out to me. :) For any infrared shooters, the lens is not good for IR going smaller than f/4. I use the Tamron 28-200 for IR and love using it for general usage.
With the A1’s megapixel count, you could absolutely use Super 35 mode on it to give you 50% more reach. The 150mm end becomes 225. I have Super 35 connected to a custom function button on my body.
Absolutely amazing event/wedding/portrait lens. I don't need it, but it would make life so much easier in many instances. Currently using 2 cameras on lot of shoots and this would totally fix that issue.
Great lens that gets slept on - Sigma 40mm f/1.4, literally one of the sharpest lenses of all time, like Otus level or higher. It's big and heavy, but it's a beast. Was on sale for $789 recently, total steal at that price.
For anyone interested, the Canon C70 with the EF to RF speedbooster works with Tamron's 35-150 f2.8 - 4. Because of the speed booster it'll ramp it up to a f2.0-2.8 That's what I have been running lately and it works incredible. You'll also have way less weight and you'll get VC with the 2.8 to 4 version.
@@LoightaFluwid why did you switch, it's expensive to switch brand. as for me I'm still okay with canon since I don't the latest and greatest. We're not RUclipsrs that talk about gears. Kind of surprised you didn't mention that for a video lens this has a couple other advantages: It's reasonably parfocal and has minimal focus breathing. Now I just need B&H to get it in stock!

Great review on this lens as it is one of the main reason why I switched to the Sony FF body over all the other FF camera manufactures that are trying to eliminate 3rd party lens. When paired with the Sony A7RV with 8-stop IBIS, the 60MP FF with the sharp Over Sampling 26MP APS-C images that is sharper than the 33MP image from the A7IV it provides incredible flexibilities that covers most of my needs. Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-f/2.8 focal range including in APS-C mode: @ f/2.0: 35mm-39mm (APS-C range: 52.5mm - 58.5mm / Total available range: 35mm - 58.5mm) @ f/2.2: 40mm-59mm (APS-C range: 60.0mm - 88.5mm / Total available range: 40mm - 88.5mm) @ f/2.5: 60mm-79mm (APS-C range: 90.0mm - 118.0mm / Total available range: 60mm - 118.0mm) @ f/2.8: 80mm-150mm (APS-C range: 120.0mm- 225.0mm / Total available range: 80mm - 225.0mm) Personally I rather carry this one lens than have to miss precious moments during lens swapping, not to mention dealing with increasing frequency of sensor cleaning and dust entering into different lenses and while have to carry the weight of all the extra lenses on a much larger and heavier camera bag.
I'm always looking for that one lens to do most what I need, and I think you found it. Now, I just have to save up for a full frame and that lens. God, why do I have expensive tastes.
After watching enough reviews for this lens, I think I'm going to buy this over getting the 28-75mm and the 70-180mm from Tamron. My sensor is always getting dust when I swap my primes so I'd love to replace most of my lenses with a single good zoom. It's time to start saving up for it
You're asking for a ridiculously massive lens, the Canon 28-70 f/2 is already as big and heavy as this lens. I couldn't imagine going even wider and longer with the only "downgrade" being f/2.8 on the long end, that would be a huge and expensive lens.
I've been waiting for this lens. Not this one specifically but I was told that we would get more lenses like this with the next gen lens mounts. You know long zooms with wide apetures. I want a 24-105 f/2.8... from canon.
No, I want a 12-7000mm f/1.0 zoom with zero breathing, parfocal, 7 focus motors, and I want it to fit in my pocket, be sharper than the hubble space telescope, and cost less than a pack of gum. And I want Canon to make it.
Finally, a lens of my taste, from my RX10II with the bridge lens of 24-200mm (35mm equivalent) constant f2.8, I can say that this will be my first lens paired with my dreaming A7SIII, and we are going places ☺
But it is not f/2.8 equivalent, it is about f/8 equivalent. It is 73.3 mm f/2.8 at the longest. That means a 26.2 mm aperture. Real 200 mm gets that at f/7.6, a 200 mm f/2.8 has a 71 mm aperture.
the only youtuber that says it right, shallow depth of field meaning less detail the background. Many other youtubers including the famous ones mistakenly understand by saying : "to get more depth of field' to say "getting more bokeh" :)
If you haven't already, check out Tamron 28-200 f2.8. And with the APS-C mode on Sony, the range is even more. On top of that, it can focus real close, so need for a Macro. The only lens you will ever need as hobbyist.
Love your videos! Was suprised I was not subscribed. I switched from sony a7rii to canon Eos R, but this lens is very exciting. If I didnt have so much RF glass id think about switching for size alone. Do you have a smaller everyday carry camera? Ive considered getting like a fuji X-e4 or Olympus e-m5 III with a wide or 35mm, but not sure if theres something better out there.
For photography as well, the only time i think how much the lens will close will only really matter if you're doing long exposures and want the starburst affect with the lights or want that extra long, multiple minute long exposure. Also, apparently every lens has a downside after about like f/8 or so where the images get less sharp the more you stop down so it's sometimes not even worth it to go past f/8 or whatever the lens' downside is at (it's different for all lenses)
