And for videographers, you can do amazing things with that USB-C port, using the Tamron Lens Utility. Turn your by wire MF behavior to linear mechanical MF with a programmable rack: choose from 90, 180, 270, or a full 360° turn for minimum focus to infinity. With those hard stops you're looking for! Program focus pulls between two spots (and set the speed of that pull!). Program a specific focus distance for immediate memory. Change the MF ring to control iris. So much good can happen in a smart lens well set for its user. You can even change the direction the MF ring turns, if you're one of those cats who thinks Tamron goes the "wrong" way 😂

I'm very satisfied with this lens. It delivered what I needed for an event using it on the A1. At one point, I did have to pull out the old 70-200 GM for that extra reach. So, I had the A7Siii with the GM and the A1 with the Tamron. The Tamron AF felt like the old GM AF which is a testament to how good this lens is with motors that are being used for the amount of glass in the lens. Very pleased with the results I got. Now, if only Sony would get the 70-200 GM II shipped out to me. :)
For any infrared shooters, the lens is not good for IR going smaller than f/4. I use the Tamron 28-200 for IR and love using it for general usage.

    • @rasimons1
      @rasimons1 2 года назад +1

With the A1’s megapixel count, you could absolutely use Super 35 mode on it to give you 50% more reach. The 150mm end becomes 225.

For anyone interested, the Canon C70 with the EF to RF speedbooster works with Tamron's 35-150 f2.8 - 4. Because of the speed booster it'll ramp it up to a f2.0-2.8 That's what I have been running lately and it works incredible. You'll also have way less weight and you'll get VC with the 2.8 to 4 version.

Great review on this lens as it is one of the main reason why I switched to the Sony FF body over all the other FF camera manufactures that are trying to eliminate 3rd party lens. When paired with the Sony A7RV with 8-stop IBIS, the 60MP FF with the sharp Over Sampling 26MP APS-C images that is sharper than the 33MP image from the A7IV it provides incredible flexibilities that covers most of my needs.
Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-f/2.8 focal range including in APS-C mode:
    @ f/2.0: 35mm-39mm (APS-C range: 52.5mm - 58.5mm / Total available range: 35mm - 58.5mm)
    @ f/2.2: 40mm-59mm (APS-C range: 60.0mm - 88.5mm / Total available range: 40mm - 88.5mm)
    @ f/2.5: 60mm-79mm (APS-C range: 90.0mm - 118.0mm / Total available range: 60mm - 118.0mm)
    @ f/2.8: 80mm-150mm (APS-C range: 120.0mm- 225.0mm / Total available range: 80mm - 225.0mm)
Personally I rather carry this one lens than have to miss precious moments during lens swapping, not to mention dealing with increasing frequency of sensor cleaning and dust entering into different lenses and while have to carry the weight of all the extra lenses on a much larger and heavier camera bag.

For photography as well, the only time i think how much the lens will close will only really matter if you're doing long exposures and want the starburst affect with the lights or want that extra long, multiple minute long exposure. Also, apparently every lens has a downside after about like f/8 or so where the images get less sharp the more you stop down so it's sometimes not even worth it to go past f/8 or whatever the lens' downside is at (it's different for all lenses)

I had a 100 to 300mm zoom lens for my Canon AE-1 back in the day. The Canon lens cost was $360 in 1979, in today's dollars comes to about $1,500.

Hi, how performance AF and Picture Quality ? Shall I purchase single lense is enough ?

@@selvaweddingphotography3060 This lens is definetly a beast !!
the Quality is better than the 28-75, I think is better glass , I shoot pretty much all my events at 2.8 ( with ND filters) and Bokeh is very nice !
      I used all the time,
      It works for me !
for small Venues I use the Tamron 20mm 2.8
Cons : Expansinve and heavy, I use a Monopod and a Tripod for ceremonies,
also,You can use it with the Crane S Pro ,works very well,

for Cameras I still shoot with Sony A7III for Weddings but I also use a Z Cam E2-S6 for short films this gimbal can hold this Cinema camera and Cine lens ! Gimball is very strong !!
Canon is my favorite for photography but I preffer Sony for videos Im waiting for the A7IV to arrive ( pre ordered 2 weeks ago ) they said it will be shipped next wednesday !

It’s signal hill. We never get the predicted rain. But I love that park. That’s the spot my wife chose for our engagement pictures. It’s weird seeing a photo RUclipsr from this area. Everyone is east coast or Canadian.
