Our world was BRIGHTENED by the sunshine when Paul was with us! There was laughter that was so SORELY needed and is even MORE NEEDED in these tumultuous days we are now living in! There was imagination, there was fantasy, and the ability for all of us to travel back to our childhood again. Paul so skillfully transported us there! You were a beautiful soul. Now the sunshine has gone out. But it’s gonna forever live in our hearts and through his movies. RIP, Pee Wee. You’ll never be forgotten!
You didn't Google search for the former child actor Mark Everett. You just didn't see Mark Everett get acquainted with Paul Reubens off the "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" set. The crime shows host: John Walsh showed me that on AMW (America's Most Wanted). This was when Mark Everett became a later-life fugitive.
Great entertainer. Nice person. A human of much depth, hidden behind a superb persona. He will never be too old to be/do Pee Wee. Open your eyes as a child does. My granddaughter and I watch Playhouse every day. Short sweet and fun. She love it.
He couldn't be Pee Wee at 100 or even Paul Reubens at a hundred, but we would've loved him if he had. I hope he's getting to be silly in heaven making all the kids that were down trodden in life, or worse, happy.
In this interview, He's kind of a Pee Wee /Paul Reubens hybrid. Not quite in character, and not quite out of character. Would be easier to give an interview out of costume, as Reubens himself.
7:35 "Kind of loosely inspired by the dancing bear from Captain Kangaroo." Been many years since I thought of that guy. Watched the show when I was a kid. Of course, "Pee-wee's Playhouse" will always be my favorite kids' show... even though I watched it as an adult.
Pee Wee Herman was still going on strong. Even during the time when I was in Sants Cruz adult school. From late 1988 to late 1995. This was also during the time when Trader Jim's Antiques used to be in business. Just imagine if Pee Wee Herman ever reunited with the former child actor Mark Everett.
Paul Reubens created Pee Wee Herman. His character is known all over the world. If you like it or not he gave it his best shot. What have you critics accomplished in your lives?
Haters who can't handle pee wee herman I can careless about because he's awsome unlike other creeps who call themselves entertainers these days...this man is a legend no what haters say about him.
i can see in his mannerisims in some of his responses hes tired of people asking stupid questions or thinking everything is a joke when hes trying to be serious.. i bet it can get really annoying, he has alot of patience
Just so y'all know CBS were the ones that cancelled his show and now they're interviewing him on their channel seems a little hypocritical don't ya think
@plan8sk8er: He and Michael were from the same cloth. Both of them were adult, but had a manchild quality to them. Unlike Michael who was a manchild in both public and private, Ruebens separates his private self from the timeless loveableness of the Pee-Wee character. Unfortunately, the police that busted him back in 1991 couldn't make the distinction, so the "Playhouse" was put on a hiatus for a long while. Now, he is back and ready to begin anew.
Reuben looks tired, it must be from production. Anyway, he seems to be really stoked about re-launching Pee-Wee, and I must admit that I am kinda stoked as well!
@LadyEdgar idk, it's kinda weird because he used to be strictly peewee when he wore the suit and paul reubens outside the suit for interviews on other acting roles.
He married Miss Yconne, like how they were pretending in the Ants in Your Pants episode. I wish I could have been there. Oh thr questions I would have asked.
a lot of people don't understand he was always an incredible artist , creator , and thoughtful human being , we should always put good talented people up there even when their alive. give them a pat on their pack and thank them, it may help their lives too, no one is perfect were all err to human and human is to err, he' was always giving care and had a real heart full of compassion.
@VideoMusicManiac : I agree! I still love it! I was a child's of the late 80's & 90's so i remember the original, but any Pee-Wee is good in my book... u ppl that say he is too old don't know what you're talkin bout!
@jacoboscar79 He looks older because the man is nearly 60. See as time here on earth progresses generally the living beings on it AGE. Somehow Paul Rubens hasn't found a way around this, crazy huh?
Now you need to know that Fred Rogers was a brilliant man, and he was all about promoting ideas, which is something that you just don't understand about that gentle man. The truth is that Dr. Fred Rogers was all about setting out unselfishly to give respect to children, and that is extremely important. Make no mistake about this one, and that is that there was nothing fake about Dr. Fred Rogers, and that is a fact! Fred Rogers was all about a love for the natural Earth, & that's the truth!
Now I will tell you that I always found comfort with Fred Rogers America's Favorite Neighbor, & it is the truth that he was all about getting children to be gentle with everyone, & that is extremely important. The truth is that we cannot be Mister Rogers, because there was only one, & he was that real of a man, that says he was the Patron Saint of children's television. He was all about being helpful, and you can research the facts about who this gentle man was in life for what you already said.
@Jstruzz That couldn't be more inaccurate... he was arrested for supposedly masturbating in an adult theater. (Not "stark naked.") He claims that he wouldn't have done that and that the cops made an example of him - I believe him. Paul has more brains than to expose himself in public... I mean, come on.
Now you listen to this, and that is that you said something about Fred Rogers who was the creator of Mister Rogers Neighborhood, and he was a real person who was a teacher in public service, as well as an ordained minister. Make no mistake about any of this, because whether Dr. Fred Rogers was on Mister Rogers Neighborhood, or any other television program the truth is that Dr. Fred Rogers was the exact same person all the time. Dr. Fred Rogers always made me feel at peace the way he was fact.
@4freespeech: Well, the "Playhouse" *was* originally conceptualized as an adult product. CBS just approached Ruebens with the idea of making a Saturday morning kid's show out of Ruebens' irreverant humor--which is for all ages (within reason)--and it snowballed from there, due to the success of the loveable manchild that is the Pee-Wee character. Anyway, after decades of hiding, Ruebens has revived his beloved persona, because he's making a full-scale "Playhouse" film set for a 2011 release.
Now you said Mister Rogers was cracked out, or something, & that is not true, because the word genius does in fact fir absolutely well with Dr. Fred Rogers. Make no mistake about this, & that is that he did have his Doctorate in child psychology, & that is an absolute fact! The words to use to describe Dr. Fred Rogers would be that he had inner mission through inner communication. Now with all of what I said about Dr. Fred Rogers will say the he was the exact opposite of Pee Wee Herman truth is!
The girl asking him questions has a lot of negativity, Paul's positivity shines right through it
She was never a child it seems lol
Our world was BRIGHTENED by the sunshine when Paul was with us! There was laughter that was so SORELY needed and is even MORE NEEDED in these tumultuous days we are now living in! There was imagination, there was fantasy, and the ability for all of us to travel back to our childhood again. Paul so skillfully transported us there!
You were a beautiful soul.
Now the sunshine has gone out. But it’s gonna forever live in our hearts and through his movies. RIP, Pee Wee. You’ll never be forgotten!
I wish I could have met him. He is so sweet and talented.
I grew up with Pee Wee Herman it was an awesome show I'm glad I grew up in the eighties thank you for having a great show Pee-wee Herman
You didn't Google search for the former child actor Mark Everett. You just didn't see Mark Everett get acquainted with Paul Reubens off the "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" set. The crime shows host: John Walsh showed me that on AMW (America's Most Wanted). This was when Mark Everett became a later-life fugitive.
thank you for posting this. Im so happy that he has shown that there is nothing that can break his spirit :)
"People like this (points to a child) become people of all ages." Pee-Wee
And he was right.
Great entertainer. Nice person. A human of much depth, hidden behind a superb persona.
He will never be too old to be/do Pee Wee. Open your eyes as a child does.
My granddaughter and I watch Playhouse every day. Short sweet and fun. She love it.
Approach it the same as yourself as a child would.
had the absolute thrill of seeing this on Broadway - he was not kidding with the audience reaction!!!!! such a great interview- thanks for posting
I love you Pee Wee / Paul. You are handsome and wonderful. I am excited for your new work.
That's really cool he did the interview as Pee Wee because there was a kid at the table.
YES YES YES. We have all been waiting. WELCOME BACK PEE WEE. WE LOVE YOU.
I know this is an old post, but so am I! But at 60 years old I still think Pew wee is an awesomely personality! The world still needs him today.
He's such a cutie-pie.
What a beautiful soul. Rest in peace Paul. I wish I had met you before you passed. Thank you for everything ❤
The wait is over, Pee Wee is back where he belongs, in the public arena where his peeps adore him.

PEE WEE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so glad to see Paul Reubens back playing one of the funniest on screen characters of all time.
When you think about it, there really _is_ no time but the present.
My childhood dream, was to meet Pee Wee Herman. I want it to come true so bad!!!
Who else is here after pee wee is gone but not forgotten?? 2023 ?
He couldn't be Pee Wee at 100 or even Paul Reubens at a hundred, but we would've loved him if he had. I hope he's getting to be silly in heaven making all the kids that were down trodden in life, or worse, happy.
that is such a beautiful thing you said about kids who had a bad life. Pee Wee is there to make them happy.
We need his genius again and again.
Time has been good to Pee-Wee. He still looks like Pee-Wee after all these years.

Wow. He's such a natural when doing Pee Wee's characteristics and mannerisms. Never lost it.
RIPeeWee
The show was just fabulous and I bought my Pee-wee Herman University jacket there! ❤
When you wear a ring on that finger, it usually means you're married.
Dottie!
Lol
What's your point?
Paul Reubens created Pee Wee Herman. His character is known all over the world. If you like it or not he gave it his best shot. What have you critics accomplished in your lives?
+caveman Versace Because it was 35+ years ago.
Haters who can't handle pee wee herman I can careless about because he's awsome unlike other creeps who call themselves entertainers these days...this man is a legend no what haters say about him.
Well said

Just so y'all know CBS were the ones that cancelled his show and now they're interviewing him on their channel seems a little hypocritical don't ya think
Times change.
This is sad and joyous all at the same time. 💜
Reuben looks tired, it must be from production.
Anyway, he seems to be really stoked about re-launching Pee-Wee, and I must admit that I am kinda stoked as well!

He married Miss Yconne, like how they were pretending in the Ants in Your Pants episode.
I wish I could have been there. Oh thr questions I would have asked.

Chairry
a lot of people don't understand he was always an incredible artist , creator , and thoughtful human being , we should always put good talented people up there even when their alive. give them a pat on their pack and thank them, it may help their lives too, no one is perfect were all err to human and human is to err, he' was always giving care and had a real heart full of compassion.
Ten days, for sixteen hours? No wonder Herman grew tired for shouting so much in Playhouse for Sale.
Pee Wee The Best!
haha
Memories...sounds good
1:36 keep pressing it
All that potential for only 1 movie
The world needs a hero.
@VideoMusicManiac : I agree! I still love it! I was a child's of the late 80's & 90's so i remember the original, but any Pee-Wee is good in my book... u ppl that say he is too old don't know what you're talkin bout!

he sounds a little like a child friendly Steve-o lol
Lol yeah never put those 2 voices together till now, but makes alot of sense, both their voices sound the same.
I wonder if John Paragon will be playing Jambi...
Damn, I'd really like to go see this.

I will miss his presence in the world so much. 🤍❤🖤
he called the ring his 'absense ring.' he is not marred. he said he had a messy devorce.
GENIOUS !!!!!!!

Glad I grew up in the 80’s. Today his character would be called gay mostly
@Sk8Bandits yeah i wonder how he looks in thie year 2011 o-o
@T97Frida thanx
I love RUclips PeeWee 2020
@DiatonicSoul Heck yeah! AND he went to a biker convention w/ 700,000 bikers! That's brave as hell! I couldn't do that! PEE WEE ROCKS! GO PEE WEE.

A whole generation of kids will see the genius us older GenXers did, when he was on Letterman in ‘82.

Cant wait to my boy come back!! Pee Wee

@saragilbertfan1805 You should check out the HBO show for your answer...
I mean if the guy wants to go for it I think he could do it.
@vTmGFX Pushing 60......58 actually.
If only I was there!
