Not that it is wrong to reveal a serious illness to others, but Paul did make the decision to keep his illness from friends, fans and supporters. It was very kind of him. And yes, it was brave of him to go on interviews, likely knowing his didn't have long to live. We are so fortunate to have had him in our lives. He is loved, never to be forgotten and will be so missed.
The franchising of PeeWee Herman would have been a great sketch. They could have had an East Coast PeeWee and A MidWest PeeWee and the punchline would be Luis Guzman perform a version as PeeWee Guzman.

Since this last interview on Conan, I had to watch Pee wee’s big adventure late night this past weekend. I forgot how he pops with Tim Burton directing it. Being 39, it has brought back a lot of good memories!!

We watched PeeWee's Big Adventure in our 20s and the Playhouse when our twins were able to watch with us; even though they were 2 or 3 they adored him and I think they liked seeing their parents laughing. Yes, this has been real hard to deal with for me. I think about watching Pee Wee's Big Adventure and, right now, I know it would hurt too much. it will take time, but we all will get through this. That's how I felt when, in 2020, found out about his 2016 movie, Pee Wee's Big Holiday. I think I saw the trailer, but at the time I had so much going on, I just forgot about it. I was puzzled as to why he had not done anything since, but like everyone else, I didn't know he was sick. He did do quite a bit of work even while sick. I admire him for that.
His small parts in "The Blues Brothers" and two "Cheech and Chong" movies were really good."Mystery Men" and "Blow" were great! It really sucks to see your favorite actors and musicians age and pass on.

Pee-wee and Conan have some great magic together. I could have seen them in a movie together. Really working off of each others humor. Pee wee was a true legend and deserved way more recognition then he was shown. His original adult comedy club skits and early dating show he was on showcased he was wayy ahead of his time in 1977. I just recognized this guy's face after trying to recognize where else I've seen him. Turns out, he played Amy's brother Russell in Everybody loves Raymond. You can see him on the episode when Ray tries to get a special card for his daughter Ally

Hmm, I assumed you were talking about Chris Elliot who was Amy's brother Peter in Everybody Loves Raymond (and that he was in the later part of this clip), but then I looked around and was surprised to learn Paul played Amy's brother Russell, in an episode I'd never seen! Funny scene.

I think Conan and Paul -- and Andy-- are all that similar kind of person --- big hearts, giant intellects, creatively unique, kind....but down deep, angry. And rightly so....which is where their quick witted humor mostly comes from. Their humorous take on everything in this absurd life and making others laugh, turns the darkness into positive energy.❤❤❤
