My personal favorite is Peregrine Runner which gets animal companion but can only choose a peregrine falcon as the animal.

BUT _FRICK_ CLINT.
THE MF CAN ONE SHOT YOU IN BOTH THE SOLO RUN (IMMEDIATELY ENDING YOUR TOURNAMENT MEANING YOU HAVE TO DO IT _AGAIN_ AND PRAY HE DOESN'T KILL YOU) AS WELL AS IN THE TEAM BATTLE (AT LEAST YOU CAN REVIVE YOUR CHARACTERS THERE AND IT'S NOT AN IMMEDIATE GAME OVER!) WHICH IS WAY MORE ANNOYING BECAUSE THERE'S PRETTY MUCH NO WAY TO COUNTER IT SO YEAH, FRICK HIM IN PARTICULAR.
It's so funny looking at the Harry Potter world in hindsight and going "Oh... maybe the signs that Rowling was going to be problematic was already there"
Super Excited about Jonathan Coulton
I feel like Murph's Rivendell was pretty close
I think it's hard to get precise with those huge labels. One of their Isengards was definitely pretty close. (I also can't believe that not only did none of them get any points, but that pronunciation of barad dur made me feel physically ill)
I have to um, actually the "time travel" element of A Christmas Carol, because while they are seemingly traveling in time, it's more akin to seeing ones memories in the period where they took place, as you cannot interact with anything. I don't care this episode is over 2 years old 😂
Oh my god, Demi's cockatrice made me burst out laughing.
I actually remembered her name. I remembered thinking 'what an awful time to be named Karen'. Also I was shouting squib at the screen on the first question
Um actually for animal companions, there is more than one other class with animal companion as a class feature. There is also a bard variant and a few prestige classes that give animal companions including Gatekeeper Mystagogue and Planar Shepherd.
There is also a few ones that give interesting variants of animal companion but the feature isn't called that. My personal favorite is Peregrine Runner which gets animal companion but can only choose a peregrine falcon as the animal.
I'm really glad to see this channel grab some sponsors. Hopefully we will get more new episodes in the future. :)
I'm actually great at remembering names. It makes people feel special when you remember their name and use it to greet them or bid them farewell.
I love how sad T gets when he says:
"We dont get lost in Middle earth..."*sad gasp*".. Cause it doesnt exist"
I feel like it's (un)important to note that Murph is technically correct. Paladin's can take the divine bond mount, which explicitly counts as a druid animal companion that's 3 (i think) levels lower
Quite a nice cast on this episode!
Um actually, the song isn’t what spawned the meme. The song references the scene in Portal that spawned the meme however, in which GLaDOS promises cake after the final experiment, but in fact she is sending Chel to an incinerator room.
Um actually, while GLaDOS does makes the referenced lie, the meme is specifically from graffiti written behind a test room panel where, presumably, a previous test subject had been hiding.
@@brianskog9947 oh right. I want to say the Ratman comics explained that that was him that wrote that.
Welcome to "Um Actually!" the gameshow of hyperspecific, pedantic corrections for minutia that no reasonable person could possibly be expected to remember! Like Karen's name.
That is in fact the whole point of the show! It celebrates the worst behavior of fans so as to laugh at it.
@@randolphcarter9163 The joke is in the second sentence...
It's ok. I'll improve.
The 21-sided dice is an abomination and it gives me physical pain.
Um actually, a ranger or Druid’s animal companion is an actual animal, but a Paladin’s mount is a celestial spirit disguised as an animal.
Um actually, the paladins mount is riding animal from a celestial plane and is treated as a magical beast for all purpose related to spells and effects.
@@DM_it_All “ You summon a spirit that assumes the form of an unusually intelligent, strong, and loyal steed, creating a long-lasting bond with it.... The steed has the Statistics of the chosen form, though it is a Celestial, fey, or fiend (your choice) instead of its normal type.”
Um actually that is the description for the paladin find steed spell of 5th edition dungeons and dragons. His statement was about 3.5e. In which they are just animals from another realm.
@@DM_it_All good point, I forgot that.
That said, are they specifically classified as beasts? Because if not, “a creature native to a high energy plane” IS the definition of a celestial.
Rule wise nope they are just magical beasts with no subtype like outsiders from other planes generally have.
Juggernaut's change is irreversible, although it was lessened after Black Tom also touched the Ruby of Cyttorak. Also, pretty sure druids and rangers summon a companion, they don't choose them
Um, actually, the Gargoyles do not have bodies made of stone, they just turn to stone during the day.
I hope they do a Crunch Time with the Jeremy Bearimy at some point.
Top 5 favorite episodes. The Players were great, last question was brutal and amazing pacing. 👏 👏 👏
That last question was amazing
I really love the time travel diagrams.
Um actually, in Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure they make a stop in caveman times when the phone booth malfunctions. The oldest date on the timeline is Ancient Greece where they pick up Socrates
I can just imagine dark wizard families where the older brothers are casting imperio on their siblings and actually making them hit themselves whilst repeating "stop hitting yourself"
So happy semi ended up in the show. Loved Gilmore guys.
That Susan G. Komen crack was hilariously appropriate since the points are worthless and the Komen organization is pretty much worthless when it comes to anything other than lining their own pockets. Well played!
So fun fact about Harry Potter, because squibs can't use magic, they often integrate into the muggle world and just live basically as muggles. Because of this, this is how muggleborns are born, all or most muggleborns have an ancestor who came from a wizarding family, probably a squib.
um actually there is no proof what so ever that squibs are responsible for muggleborns. While it's a brilliant thought exercise used in fanfiction its not canon. It just seems canon because a lot of fics use it- just like how Sirus Orion Black doesnt actually have the middle name Orion, even though it sounds right. Never mentioned in the books at all.
An absolutely brutal shiny question. Straight up killed the contestants like we were in the Eric Andre show
Now thats an unpunchable Jam.
Wait I found his songs on Spotify a while ago and they are so good this is epic
My favourite part of the ad is the popup captions to avoid um actuallys
The name guessing was so funny!
woah um actually getting that sponsorship!
I had no idea what Jonathan Coulton looked like but I listen to him almost every week on Ask Me Another.
that last question is literally an snl skit and it's even funnier with actual people
Um Actually, You can make weapons from Materia...
That was the whole point of the Proud Clod boss fight...
