Remember .. patriotism isn't about blindly believing your country is the best. But in continually striving for it to be.
As soon as you believe you have achieved perfection, you stop trying to improve. And that's when shit goes downhill.
If your family member is fucking up..telling them that they're fine and better than everyone else doesn't help them correct their path. If you love them, you have to be honest about their shortcomings

When Reagan adopted that "Trickle Down Economics" mentality and it penetrated the already Capitalist System of America that is at the time being held by Socialist infrastructures... It was at that time America took a World Power Perfection stance towards it's DOMESTIC approach.
Conservatives want to go back to this time thinking human rights progress is their doing when the EU was doing all those already.
And that in those time, living conditions were because of unionised labour, social programs, irs actually taxing the rich.
After that Trickle Down Propaganda came in. Shit went down hill while the fight for Equality, Justice and Social Progress becomes harder to fight for just to survive capitalist gains.
Tell me. After that era, when did a small business entrepreneur that did not have the privilege of a "garage owned by their parents" start up became bigger in their industry?
And how difficult was it compared to before that era?
      Exactly.
Those fda, even the nutritional pyramid was a scheme to increase and change the habits of American foods. Making it legal for corporation to tap into those resources.
When did you think obesity started to increase in the U.S? How about Diabetes? See how that connects to the insulin monopoly?
      Allergy and Epi-pens?
You start questioning the connections of Money to unbridled power towards that control... You realize they take out the human parts in society and changed it with numbers that has human consequences.
Lastly... Water Pipe, lead waterpipes in urban areas.
      OLD Leaking LEAD pipes.
Lead that decreases the mental potential of kids... Connect that to the fight in the dismantling of PUBLIC education and towards to Privately owned Demagogue Schools.
The American Dream is only sustainable if you're sleeping and alone.

    • @leonardomei9021
      @leonardomei9021 2 года назад +71

We actually have a less capitalistic society.
What doomed America was Reagan in the 80’s and neoliberalism as a whole.
As an Italian, I feel so cringed when Americans come here and starts to talk about mafia or government corruption, like we are some type of third world country.
As a republic, like many in Europe, that was founded on democratic values with a little touch of socialism (democratic socialism to be precise), Italy has the second best healthcare system in the world, a free education for all students up until high school and free university for those who have a low income.
Sure, things aren’t perfect, but people here aren’t left to die in the streets in the name of profit and egoism.
Rich Americans are so egoistic that they prefer to pay a higher insurance for themselves then a low tax that covers everyone.
Capitalism is inherently evil, if you don’t add a touch of social programs and welfare, because it pursues only profit, evaluating people not as living beings, but rather as profit-making machines

I think your view of hospitals will soon alter. Mind you in America you have to be able to pay for it. When Socialism is mentioned, you mentioned two Communist run countries. There is this need to put things in place, a need for labeling even ideology. If you aren't conservative then you must be a liberal. If your society aren't capitalist then it has to be socialist. More often or not there is a middle road, a pragmatic & scientific approach where you pick the best of both side. Leaning on one side only create a huge void of shortcoming on the other end is what American's politician doesn't want American to know. An (aka: free country) that make it's people pledge patriotism in school on a regular basis sound more manipulative dictatorship communism than democratic.

I'm free as a bird, but also aware that freedom comes with responsibility and we can't take it for granted. Freedom for most Europeans is not "me first". It's more like "us together" in our own countries and across borders.

Yesterday my son went to pick up 3 prescriptions for me ( I have Systemic Lupus among other things) and when he came back he said that I had reached the prescription threshold and only had to pay for one item. This also means that for the rest of the calendar year, all of my prescriptions are free. My GP bulk bills so it costs nothing to see her, we choose our own doctors and I have had the same wonderful one for 33 years). I had to have the district nurses come out every second day for treatment and the total cost for 2 months was $22.25. Our system may not be perfect, and can at times move slowly, but I have always had excellent care from the many specialists that I have seen over the years. We are so lucky here.

Then you have to pay the costs of the madical issue on your own, as far as I know... I have never been in such a situation, because what ever it is you get the health care you need or demand, immideatly, without paying for it.... Well... After 6 weeks your health insurance kicks in and pays app. your net wage for up to 78 weeks (1.5 years) within a 3 year time-frame for the same sickness. E.g. You have the "rona" and some complications and have to stay home for 3 months, the employer pays for 6 weeks, then the insurance sets in and pays for 7 weeks. You start working again, but after another 2 weeks, you develop symptoms of "long rona" and have to stay home for another 2 months the insurance will pay. But if you instead catch some stomach virus (which is a "new" sickness) your employer will pay you. Bonus: As long as you're sick, you can't be fired.
As soon as a woman tells her employer she's pregnant, she can't be fired. The employer has to provide her with a workspace that doesn't endanger the unborn child (sitting instead of standing all day, no contact with dangerous substances, no lifting heavy goods etc.). She gets maternity leave 6 weeks before the delivery date and 8 weeks after (if the child comes early the "missed" time is added afterward, so she always has 14 weeks off) paid by the employer. Then there are up to 14 months of unpaid parental leave split between both parents (min 2 months and max 12 months for the mother/father), which can be consecutive or simultaneously within the first 3 years. For every month of parental leave taken the German state pays parental allowance (percentage of the wages with a min/max cap). And the German state pays "child allowance" which is a fixed sum of 219 EUR for the 1st and 2nd, 225 EUR for the 3rd, 250 EUR for the 4th and every other child - from the day of birth till the 18th birthday (or longer for all children pursuing education past high-school [university, vocational training], engaging in specific social services [1 year voluntary and unpaid work] or children with severe disabilities until age 25.
All schools are tuition-free. This includes universities - for all students [German and foreign]. You only pay an administrative fee of app. 150 - 200 EUR per month which includes (most of the time) a public transport ticket. If you chose vocational training (2-3.5 years, depending on the profession) you get training on the job in a company (3 days a week), schooling in a vocational school (2 days a week - basics like German and English language, maths and specials depending on the chosen profession e.g. accounting for office clerks or material knowledge for masons or carpenters). And you get a monthly salary of a few hundred EUR.

The people cannot take a stand against those who are robbing them blind (the 1%) when they are too busy arguing, bickering and fighting among themselves like little children. The 1% have the people right where they want them and are laughing all the way to the bank. Not only that the 1% pay zero personal taxes compared to the average American who pays through the ass. Bullshit baffles brains in America and the corporation along with the 1% who own those corporations know this all to well, hence all the BS American corporate propaganda. The healthcare system in The Netherlands is reasonably good, but could certainly be better. It is a mix of state and private system. We all need a mandatory base insurance which costs about €1,300 a year. You can also take additional insurances. I have two, one for dental care and one for a broader spectrum of healthcare. If you don’t have the mandatory base insurance you get fined by the government, which can be as high as the insurance premium. And the bill for the insurance premium must still be paid, it won’t be scrapped if you pay the fine. If you can’t pay the premium because your income is too low, you get a subsidy from the taxation office. If you use healthcare, you have a deductible of €385 a year. We call it ‘eigen risico’ which means own risk. On top of that you have for some items an own contribution (eigen bijdrage). That means that you have to pay 25% of the bill yourself. It is for example for hearing aids, contact lenses, glasses, maternity care, artificial teeth, wigs, orthopedic shoes, medical transport (not being an ambulance for emergency) and some medications. All things not for healing but for making your life easier. So if you need orthopedic shoes which costs €400 a pair, you have to pay €100 out of your own pocket. The other €300 is more difficult, because if you haven’t used up your deductible of €385, you have to pay that not used up part also. So if you haven’t used your deductible ar all, you have to pay the whole amount of €300 also and still have a deductible of €85 for that year. If you fully used the deductible of €385 that year, the insurance company pays the full amount of €300. If you for example used the deductible and there is still a deductible of €175 left, you have to pay the €175 of the €300 yourself and the insurance company pays the other €125. So in this last example, for the pair of orthopedic shoes of €400, you have to pay €275 and the insurance company pays €125. Every year these items change, so you have to be careful and look at the reimbursements of the insurance before you buy, use or ask for it. My father had this about ten years ago when he went to his GP because he was forgetting important things. He wanted to know if this were the early stages of dementia, which was common in his family. The GP referred him to the hospital for a two day test program. After two months he got a bill of almost €1,000 which was his own contribution of 25% of the hospital bill for the dementia test program. He took the test in December, but if he had waited for January it would have been fully covered. He didn’t have dementia but it cost him €1,000 to know this. The insurance company offered to pay the bill in monthly payments of €100. But still he and my mother needed to scrape all their money to pay for this. €100 for pensioners is a lot of money. The disadvantage of our system is that the insurance companies have a lot of influence and by that have a lot to say about the healthcare system. One of them is that almost all the small hospitals have disappeared, only cities have big hospital buildings where you can get lost if you don’t ask the receptionist which colored line or which direction code you have to follow to reach your appointment desk. Another one is that hospitals need to specialize in certain surgical procedures while other hospitals will loose those specific procedures. Resulting in longer travel distances for patients and their visitors. Hospitals have become big medical factories in cities with shops, restaurants, payed car parking, instead of small clinics or hospitals that are close by, logical and simple and where you aren’t a number on a patient conveyor belt. At this moment there is the issue that the insurance companies want to centralize the emergency departments of hospitals so they get more efficient. This means that some hospitals will loose their emergency departments, all together or only at nights and weekends, and the remaining emergency departments get better and more equipment. Which means longer arrival times for ambulances and probably more ambulances because of that.

Some women don't even have that amount of money to give birth in a hospital, so they have to choose to give birth at home, which can be worse if there are complications during labour. I know there are mid-wifes you can ask to help you but even they want to get payed and they might be cheaper as a hospital but still cost a lot of money. Prescription medicine is max £9.80 per item and cheaper if long term. We get a mandated minimum 27 days holiday per year for full-time work/pro rata for PT. Statutory sick pay £19 per day and often full employer sick pay upto 8weeks.. Statutory and Maternity Pay (SMP) is paid for up to 39 weeks. You get:90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks. Then £156.66 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks. Also paid time off for antenatal care and protection against unfair treatment, discrimination or dismissal. Paternity is statutory upto 2wks paid leave for fathers. Our working week is normally 37-40 hrs ( Fbefore optional overtime and higher overtime pay rate kicks in.) PT hrs are usually upto 25hrs before you are duty bound to get FT benefits. Its by no means perfect- and ither European countries are far better- but its a BASIC LIFELINE acriss the course of our lifetimes. Americans are frightened of socialism but we Brits and Europeans are well protected with what we call 'basic' rights. We are sorry that Americans should but don't get cared for when they are sick- this should be a basic human right! The more people see video information like yours then eventually things will change fir the better in USA. Kudos to you for opening your mind and others.👍🏻

I'm an American and have lived in Spain for 35 years. My girlfriends mother just broke her hip 3 months ago. In less than 5 hours she was operated on. 4 days later she was home. Price for it all?: ZERO. Personally I'm ADHD and take Ritalin and go to the psychiatrist once a month. Cost?: 30$ a month. If someone has an accident they don't stop to think about what they can afford. Spain also has one of the best cancer treatment systems in the world. And Spain is the absolute king in the world in transplants.

One thing I’m very glad about is also that you don’t take everything as facts. It’s such an important thing to realize that one video cannot be your only source of information and use it as facts. In the times where fake news is not uncommon and especially in America where fake news and lies are being told on a daily basis by politicians it is important that you can question things until you do your own research.

The sad thing is, that the u.s.a reach a point where it's almost impossible to make a change happen. The handful people that are in charge of controlling everything are become just too powerful and connected to be beaten. The only chance would be millions of people on the streets every day, but how likely is that?

Australia has a mix of Public (majority) and private hospitals, most medical costs are free (but not all) and medications are about $6.00 (again the majority of medicines [common] but not all) state government run and control their public hospitals and federal government the Pharmaceuticals Benefit Scheme (the cheap medicines) this is a very condensed description. It works very well for us, not perfect but definitely very good.
There is nothing stopping the U.S. doing something like this except your right wing politicians. It's your government, your the boss, you pay their wages, make them work for you the majority, get active politically. Tell your politicians what you want (party irrelevant) not just on health but anything and everything when it comes to national or state government jurisdiction/control.
You don't have to go march in a protest (that's ok though) just write/email/tweet/insta or bloody smoke signal them ask your friends to do the same, pressure them and keep the pressure on, the "gun" you carry is your vote, use it. The rich (individuals/corporations) get what they want via the power of money but you, collectively, have the power to remove them (the politician) if they act only for a minority and not the majority, your a democracy make it work for you, that's what democracy is about but you have to contribute by telling your representatives what you want (as a minimum input/effort) and if they don't you'll vote not just for the other major party but anyone (independent) who will represent you, that pressures all of them. Isn't there something in your constitution about government being, by the people, for the people or something like that, make them do that.
Sorry democratic rant. Good luck to you and your fellows.

well just my Dutch 5 (euro ) cents. You guys might want to open up the medical care to countries outside the US . Once they actually have to compete prices will drop making it more affordable. Sure some firms will topple but most will be fine.

American can and do already leave the country for medical procedures. They are cheaper abroad even including the travel costs. Problem is: Many Americans think, there is almost nothing outside the US due to public indoctrination. This majority doesn´t even recognize Canada ("have no cars, drive sledges, live in igloos").

And if you wanna hold your baby afterwards you have to *pay* like 40 bucks for "Skin to skin contact".
Day what you will about the coat for the delivery, at least there is people WORKING for you.

Infant mortality rate is an horrible example and unfortunately, it's absolutely true. The result is a combination of factors, that give you this bad outcome. First is a medical one, in which some tests and procedures are often left out for financial reasons. But another important one is stress for the mother (actually both parents) and the lack of enough free time before the baby gets born and also after the baby is born. Most western countries don't allow the mother to work anymore around the 3rd month of pregnancy, while the US does allow them to work up to the 9th month (basically until they have to give birth) and they keep the mother home after she gave birth, for at least 6 weeks after birth, while staying home for even longer than that, in order to care for the child, is highly encouraged. The US doesn't do this either.

Im 39 years old and live in Sweden.
In almost 4 decades Ive never met a single person who has medical debt.
2 months ago I was rushed to the ER in an ambulance with sympthoms of heart attack, numb arm, chest pressure, tingly fingers all that jazz.
It wasnt, it was just a mucle inflamation in my sternum and the tingly fingers and numbness the doctor chalked up to my mind panicing thinking it was heart attack combine with me working in a wearhouse freezer.
Basically a temporary case of hypeochondria.
I came in an ambulance, stayed for almost 2 days, had two EKGs, one 24 hour EKG, 8 blood tests, 5 meals+fruit.
I hade two nurses, one cardiologist and a Resident doctor attending me and it all cost me about 40 bucks...
Which I later got back from my insurance.
(which cost me 0 btw, as they picked me up at work and in Sweden Its your emplyers obligation to provide you with full insurance as long as youre at work, this is the law, not a perk)
From what I understand, the ambulance alone would cost me between 3 and 5 thousands dollars in America.

In Sweden a new mother is entitled to 480 days, yes that is not a typo, 480 days of paid maternity leave. This can be split between parents so each gets 240 days paid leave.
Parents are entitled to pay if they have to take time off work when their child is ill.
We are also entitled to a minimum of 25 days paid vacation leave.
Emergency treatment is free, Medicine is affordable, and if you have a long term condition and require constant medication their is a cap on how much you must pay a year, then for the rest of the year all medical services are free. (I think it's around a 150 dollars)
Hearing things like this breaks my heart. You've just had a lunatic kill 21 innocent people, and parents are forced to beg on gofundme to bury their children. For shame America. When are you going to wake up?
