Final Story - Wooow… this was a crazy one. No doubt Adam saved that young woman and her child from years of emotional trauma and abuse from that horrible excuse of a human being. Glad to hear that the other officer is doing better and the young woman is away from him.
I loved the fact that the manager let OP leave without paying for the beer. In other words, the manager was thinking 'Gawd, I wished I could have said that!'
I wish cops would start doing some if that when Karens start spitting horrible insults at them. Lord knows they are always getting in trouble for using what Monday morning quarterback bureaucrat considers to be excessive force, so if they just use words I doubt they could really get in that much trouble.
"That one Karen"... does not narrow it down. Especially if getting roflstomped by someone meaner than her is a way to go out. I'm reasonably sure you meant the rich gas station Karen. I agree.
Reminds me of the story I heard of a young woman who called 911 to order a pizza. The operator was quick on the draw to realize it was a domestic violence situation and all ended equally as well. I envy those who are so quick to pick these things up.
Dead squirrel breath Karen story: Would really like an update on this one about whether Karen ever actually showed up at that store again and if she did if her behavior had changed. Gas station story: I'm old enough to remember when there were full-service gas stations everywhere, then the change to stations with full-service and self-service pumps, then finally the change to all self-service pumps. But I'm also aware there are a few states that still mandate that employees only pump your gas. But trying to light up next to the pumps and with an open gas cap. That takes a special kind of stupid who NEEDS an electric car. Drunk guy story: You're best off not turning your back on drunk and crazy. And while I'm in the US, not the UK, I would assume the guy was charged with drunk and disorderly and attempted assault at a minimum. Hopefully the store had CCTV. Vendor story: In some ways I can't blame the actual employees for not wanting to get involved. They really don't get paid enough for that nonsense. But the manager should have been called as that IS a part of his job. I also suspect the guy was a regular and treated all the employees like crap, so they didn't want to get involved with him. Racist Karen story: Imagine that, a latina that doesn't work at a Mexican restaurant. I'm glad the owner didn't try to placate her, though I doubt Karen learned anything. Officer down story: I'm definitely glad the officer was okay and the woman was fast thinking enough and felt (correctly) that her husband was strung out enough he wouldn't recognize she was talking to a police officer. Adam also did a terrific job of alerting everyone who needed to be told and safeguarding the woman until the situation was handled. Well done.
@@anndownsouth5070 It's not the phone itself that causes the problem though, if you do not touch it then there is zero chance a mobile phone can start a fire. It's static electricity that causes the problem, it's the reason they have metal pumps and poles near the pumps, you touch the metal first to discharge safely before pumping.
The first story had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣 "you look like a dumpster fire with lipstick on" and "it smells like a family of squirrels died in your mouth and the only way to find them is to follow the trail of dead teeth" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was in a store once and this lady from out of town comes marching up to me and asks where something is. I told her "Isle 16 in the back" She runs off to the back of the store. Then an employee comes up and says "There isn't an isle 16 in this store, and that item isn't in the back of the store either." I replied "Ofcourse it is, everything is in isle 16 in the back." He stood there silent for a minute and then winked at me before walking off. He was purposefully avoiding her, probably because of her attitude. Just a note, the employee was new aswell. There was an isle in the back that didn't have any official name or anything and wasn't labeled. A bunch of locals call it isle 16 because the last official isle in the store is isle 15. Whenever someone decides they don't want an item in their cart, or their kids run up with something they don't want to buy, they'll just drop it off on a shelf on this isle. The employees don't mind because it makes their job easier when picking up all of the misplaced items, they just go through one isle instead of all 15 others, and the shoppers will go here if they are looking for something that's sold out and usually will find it here. Its a win win. But the isle isn't labeled and there's no guarantee that your item will be there, it's just a bunch of random junk strewn about completely randomly. The isle isn't there any more, the store is actually using it for something now, but it was great while it lasted. I could only immagine the look on the ladys face looking for isle 16 and if she actally guessed right, going through all that junk to find the right item...
That "Aisle 16" is actually a brilliant idea. Every store should have one. Signs everywhere saying "Can't find what you're looking for? Try Aisle 16". Would take some burden off staff too.
Story 1: I wish that OP had thought ahead and just demand the manager BAN Karen from the property for life for harassing other customers...but I bet it felt GOOD though! Story 2: Karen is VERY lucky that the officer didn't arrest her for Felony Reckless Endangerment...with a charge count of however many people were at the station.
9:00 if using electronics by gas pumps is dangerous how the hell did she think smoking a cigarette with flame open is okay!!! that’s beyond stupidity that’s extremely dangerous and reckless
Technically because of state laws...some states can't arrest people from out of state...so they normally call the state they're from to get them handled
@narinightshade4474 I've never heard of a state law that prevents someone from out of state being arrested for a crime committed inside that same state. Perhaps you're thinking of extradition, where someone who is wanted for something in one state will get arrested in another state, and then will be extradited to the first state to face charges?
@@robertc.9503 ...maybe I know sometimes when people drive off heading back to their state the cops won't chase them cause they legally cannot follow across state borders...

Sounds like the girl in the last story was using the "can you please get this for me" as a way to silently and calmly notify OP to the situation...and kudos to him for how he handled things; sounds like the guy was tweaking and dangerously aggressive, and they couldn't have done a better job of getting her away while handling things without alerting the guy as to what was going on.
Number of years I've been smoking: more than some people reading this have been alive. Number of times I've lit up within a hundred feet of a gas pump: zero, because I have an IQ above sea level.
Some people can't understand the gas itself isn't what will explode. They think the gas is in the tank away from me. It is the fumes that comes off the gas that will kill ya.
@@huntjl88 Actually, you have that backwards. The fumes are NOT flammable as they dissipate far too quickly in the air. It is the gas on the ground that ignites.
@@protoborg Nope. The liquid won't ignite. It's the vapour which ignites, but only when the mixture between vapour and air is within the right range (technically known as the stochiometic ratio, I think). The fumes being emitted during filling of a tank definitely can ignite, and have done so on more than one occasion. Further away, the fumes are diluted by enough air that ignition is unlikely, but it's still a very bad idea to play with fire anywhere nearby when you're handling gasoline/petrol.
The last story of that Officer saving that woman from her now ex. Did the right thing and kept calm and made sure to keep the situation under control. There was a case where a Dispatcher saved a mother and her children from her abusive husband when she called 911 and began acting like she was placing an order for a pizza he was about to hang up on the call when he suddenly caught the hint of fear in the woman’s voice. So he played along and began acting like he was asking what kind of toppings she wanted on the pizza, and as soon as he got the address police officers were dispatched right away to the address
That last story is a scary situation & I’m so glad it ended ok with no one else getting hurt. I hope the pregnant wife in this story has only happy moments with her baby after it’s born & never has to deal with or see her psychotic ex husband!
Story 2: The cops should have arrested the woman for endangering the lives of others. They should at least give her a ride around in the car to give her a little scare.
In the first "Clerks" movie, Randall says a line to Dante I will take to my grave. "You know that this job would be great if it wasn't for the f-ing customers."
Story 2: intentionally blocking someone in is false imprisonment or unlawful restraint, which in Texas is a Class A misdemeanor or possibly a felony (probably not in this case).
Yup. Oregon used to be that way, but changed the law last year. Gas stations still have to have attendants on hand for people who don't want to pump their own gas, but it's no longer illegal to pump your own.
Story 2: seeing as the woman sped out of the gas station and almost hit a family that was walking out, i genuinely hope the cop got on his radio and reported it another unit close by since he was too busy taking the report to go after her and thinking she got away ends up seeing the dreaded flashing blue lights behind her.😂😂😂
For story two I'm surprised the woman wasn't arrested for attemted manslaughter, for the cigarette next to the pump and for almost running a family over.
Last story. A cousin of mine pushed an officer to the ground for being in his way while high just 20 minutes after running from cops at a drugs bust. He said it was unfair because he didn't know it was an officer even though the officer was wearing a big coat with the department initials on it. People who are crazy high aren't very bright.
Last Story: While I do recognize the story from other channels who have read it, I don't mind it as it's still a great story to tell. I will give props to the original poster's husband for remaining calm in the situation, especially since he's a cop who's doing his job.
I was washing out paint brushes with paint thinner once when this kid we had working temporary walks up on me with a lit cigarette. I'm literally up to my elbows in pain thinner, and there's a whole industrial sink wet with paint thiner in front of me. I'm SCREAMING at him to get away from me. A couple of my coworkers heard the yelling, and gently escorted him away from me. He was trying to explain that it was no big deal, that you could throw a lit cigarette into a bucket of gasoline and it wouldn't explode, etc. Still kicking myself for not discussing the matter with him in detail outside the workplace.
Story #2 reminded me of when I worked at a gas station in Spring Branch, Texas. The number of times I had to shut off the pumps from my register because some idiot decided to try to light a cigarette was ridiculous. I also had to tell people to walk at least 50 away when I worked at a fireworks stand when they wanted to light one up. Like sir, I really don’t want to explode today! That fireworks stand had a fine dusting of gunpowder covering every surface!
1) Nice to be able to finally be able to tell someone what you actually think of them. 2) It is sad she was not arrested for her reckless driving since she couldn't be arrested for her stupidity and endangering OP at the pump. 3) I think OP should have stayed to file a complaint or at least have voluntarily given info and not have to be tracked down to give a statement. Always press charges. 4) What an AH. It is disgusting that no employee did anything about this. 5) I am so happy the owner told that obnoxious woman to GTHO. 6) Wow, what a situation, so glad this worked out the way it did.
Story 3: OP really should have tracked down an employee and let them know they had an unstable customer in the store. I work retail and we keep our eyes out for people like that, because you never know what they are capable of, or what their intentions are.
I will never figure out the thought process that tells Karens. That if a resturant is Mexican, Itailian, French, ETC... that every person in that resturant of that ethnic group MUST work there. Do they think Mexicans don't eat at Mexican resturants?
It depends on the restaurant. You know that there food is good and authentic when it's full of people of the same ethnicity/cultural background as the food served in this restaurant. They flock there, and not the competitors, for a reason 😅
The karen abuses staff for years and doesn’t get kicked out. But the minute op spouts truth he’s booted out. Backwards, yes I know he can come back but something should’ve been done about that Karen a long time ago
Back in the early 90s my husband worked in a very small country town petrol station. One of the local young fellas (about 16), who was not only a bit of a twat but useless according to hubs, was working part-time there. One day hubs had to open the big petrol thingee in the forecourt & measure the petrol/gas level (where the bowsers pump from) when this idiot comes strolling up, leans over the open hole/tank looking & gives the old "what's up" - leaning over the open petrol tank hole with a LIT BURNING CIGARETTE. Hubs said he's never wanted to slap a kid until then lol
For story 4, damn right no employee approached that psycho. He was huge, implied to be a marine so combat trained, and already bordering on violence. That's not a job for a 19 year old trying to make ends meet. That's a job for security.
Story 2: @_@ as far as I'm aware, New Jersey is the only state in the USA where it's illegal to pump your own gas (fuel). But jeez that Karen was terrible...
The Gas Pump Lady ... I Would Have Taken The Pump, Had Her Put Her Debit Card ... Then Fill Up MY Own Car ! To Teach Her A Lesson. Ohhh You're So Rich? Thanks For Paying For My Gas. 😂🤣
@@StealthTheFoxzIt's actually against the law to pump your own gas in New Jersey. Oregon just removed that same law in 2023. Those were the last two states that mandated full-serve only.
I was interested in the story of the lunatic with the cig. lighter at a fuel pump. On my first trip to the US from here in Australia two things really threw me for a bit. I was surprised when somebody rushed over to fill my tank when I was driving a rental car and stopped for fuel. I thought this was was some sort of novelty at that particular place. The next time, differrent place, I had to fill myself but the pump wouldn't start, I was told I had to pay for it first. Neither of those things happen in anywhere in Australia that I've evere been. Novelties like this are why I used to travel overseas, makes life interesting. :)
the last story: Glad that Adam was able to help the young woman. She won't have to worry about his crazy ass for YEARS. Shooting a police officer, he is Sooo gone from her life and her baby as well. Its like Adam was supposed to be there to save this poor girl from this criminal. The Lord works in mysterious ways 🙏

Fun fact about story 2, Oregon and New Jersey where the only states without self service gas stations. This recently changed for Oregon (August 2023) as now our stations can allocate up to half the pumps for self service. Its been a god send as the lines at the pumps are not nearly as long now that people have learned how to pump their own gas. As far as I know NJ is the only state left with full service stations, other than NJ only a few towns/counties in like New York and maybe some other places have this law in place. I personally think Oregon's system is pretty good as elderly and those with disabilities can get assistance with getting gas while those who don't need the help are able to do it themselves.
She probably got the stupid idea in her head that since she heard that you can't light liquid fuel on fire with a lit cigarette like in the movies that she would be fine, completely ignoring the liquid part and forgetting that fumes exist and are far more explosive and flammable.
Next time a Karen tries to belittle you with her wealth. Tell them too bad money doesn’t buy common sense, brains, or manners. I work retail. Have gotten my fair share of Karen’s like that. However I also live in an affluent neighborhood. Most of my neighbors make more each than my husband and I combined. My house has also doubled in value since I bought it 6 years ago. I got lucky in real estate 10+ years ago. I doubt any of those Karen’s own a home. Let alone one as expensive as mine. My husband is also a well liked elementary school music teacher in the area and has connections with a lot of city officials and prominent figures due to being their kids’ teacher. Do you know who I AM Karen?
Well, there actually are a few full service stations in Texas. But they are typically in small towns and have been there forever. The gas is more expensive, but it is nice, and they wipe you windows down, and will check under your hood if you ask them to.
Story 2 is complete bs. Why do I say this? How often do you see really rich people, in furs, driving a minivan? And a Texas cop doesn't arrest her for nearly blowing up a gas station, or nearly running over a family - or even ticket her? Total bs.
A long time ago I was parked at a local gas station near the area where the gas truck fills the the pumps. When I came out of the station there was a truck there filling up the pumps. The gentleman working the truck asked me if I could refrain from starting my car as a spark from my ignition could cause an explosion. I complied as I'm not an ass hole nor am I stupid.
Question: How long ago was the gas station story? Because, to my knowledge, only two states required full-service gas in recent years, Oregon and New Jersey (and Oregon only recently changed that). How did that woman cross half the country and not pump her own gas?
OP #1's former manager had to ask them to leave for appearances, and needed the next few days to savour the moment OP took that Karen down to the bottom peg.
Too bad the manager isn't allowed to ban Karen from the store. I know they would if they could.

That first story has OP spitting a whole fire ball jutsu at Karen
That was an Ultra Instinct Kami Hami Ha.......
The second story has OP preventing a Karen from causing a fireball.
What a roast!
I loved the fact that the manager let OP leave without paying for the beer. In other words, the manager was thinking 'Gawd, I wished I could have said that!'
Literally the best comment here 🤣
O.P. No' one, you are the hero we all deserve !
Absolutely
For the first story the manager messed up big time by not banning Karen and kicking out the OP. We need to normalize banning repeat Karen's
I wish cops would start doing some if that when Karens start spitting horrible insults at them. Lord knows they are always getting in trouble for using what Monday morning quarterback bureaucrat considers to be excessive force, so if they just use words I doubt they could really get in that much trouble.
The lady in that last story was so incredibly brave. So glad she's out of that situation and doing well.
That one Karen is gonna win a Darwin award one of these days...

Well done.
To the Karens, worldwide... I'll say it as often as I have to, you are *_NOT_* excused nor is there any excuse *_FOR_* you.
The Karen from the second story is the reason why gas stations have multiple emergency stop buttons for the pumps.
You can't cure stup1d.
For lighting of cigarette or people who turn cell phone on/off or simply answering the phone. The spark of electricity can and has ignited the fumes.
@@stephaniefarley1236I was looking for this comment because we also have "no cellphone" signs at filling stations.
@@anndownsouth5070 one of my fun jobs in life was working at a gas station. Some things I can't unseen or unheard ever in my life😂
The first story had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣 "you look like a dumpster fire with lipstick on" and "it smells like a family of squirrels died in your mouth and the only way to find them is to follow the trail of dead teeth" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
In the gas pump story, the guy said this started with the woman grabbing his shirt. She assaulted him 1st.
I need to remember that one if I find a crazy Karen who mistakes me for an employee.
Story 1 - Daaaaaaamn!
That was… awesome 👏
Story 1: I wish that OP had thought ahead and just demand the manager BAN Karen from the property for life for harassing other customers...but I bet it felt GOOD though!
Story 2: Karen is VERY lucky that the officer didn't arrest her for Felony Reckless Endangerment...with a charge count of however many people were at the station.
9:00 if using electronics by gas pumps is dangerous how the hell did she think smoking a cigarette with flame open is okay!!! that’s beyond stupidity that’s extremely dangerous and reckless
That's a Darwin Award nomination.
story 2: ...and they just let her go?
Technically because of state laws...some states can't arrest people from out of state...so they normally call the state they're from to get them handled
They didn't want to deal with a Jersey Who ore.
@narinightshade4474 I've never heard of a state law that prevents someone from out of state being arrested for a crime committed inside that same state.
Perhaps you're thinking of extradition, where someone who is wanted for something in one state will get arrested in another state, and then will be extradited to the first state to face charges?

That first story was SO satisfying!

Story 3 - Hopefully that drunken idiot was charged to the max for assault on OP, destruction of property, and disorderly conduct.
Wow, the last story had me on the edge of my chair 😬
Story 2: The cops should have arrested the woman for endangering the lives of others. They should at least give her a ride around in the car to give her a little scare.
In the first "Clerks" movie, Randall says a line to Dante I will take to my grave. "You know that this job would be great if it wasn't for the f-ing customers."
I mean heaven forbid a mexican person buying mexican food at a mexican restaurant!?! Karen cant figure that one out
I just don't understand the xenophobia you Yanks have towards the United Mexican States. WTF?
Story 2: intentionally blocking someone in is false imprisonment or unlawful restraint, which in Texas is a Class A misdemeanor or possibly a felony (probably not in this case).
New Jersey is the only state still that has full service gas stations because it's illegal to pump your own gas in that state
And it can be a real pain in the neck when you're in a hurry!
But at the same time, it's nice if the weather is nasty. 😅
Yup. Oregon used to be that way, but changed the law last year. Gas stations still have to have attendants on hand for people who don't want to pump their own gas, but it's no longer illegal to pump your own.
I'm from the UK but somebody I know from New Jersey (I'll call him Kevin) confirmed that this is indeed true.

While I do recognize the story from other channels who have read it, I don't mind it as it's still a great story to tell. I will give props to the original poster's husband for remaining calm in the situation, especially since he's a cop who's doing his job.
Last story: Best IDWHL story ever!
Story 1: OP was the final boss in that encounter. Man, that was the most satisfying comeback I've heard in these stories.
That roast in the first story was well deserved 😂
The more I hear about these sad angry little men, the more I understand why the Vulcans didn't want jack to do with humans lmao.
I will never figure out the thought process that tells Karens. That if a resturant is Mexican, Itailian, French, ETC... that every person in that resturant of that ethnic group MUST work there. Do they think Mexicans don't eat at Mexican resturants?
It tells me the food must be great.
It depends on the restaurant. You know that there food is good and authentic when it's full of people of the same ethnicity/cultural background as the food served in this restaurant. They flock there, and not the competitors, for a reason 😅
ohhh i love the first one more than anything i saw ever... Hope karen got the advice.
Yeah - yeah - yeah - Why do these OPs talk to strangers!? So I DO enjoy these stories - and enjoy the pinch of salt that comes with `em!

Did she ever get gas or was she stranded alongside the road? Texas is a big state.
My question is, did she pay for the petrol? I know stealing is a major No in Texas.
@@AndyJade-df6dj as I read it, she had to pump her own and did not.

I understand wanting to give product for free, but never ever do it with alcohol. Big no no with laws.

As someone who works at Price Chopper, I had to do a double take
Easy solution to stop the explosions, ban smoking in the country.

Total bs.
Story two: a few gallons of diesel and she’s got her karma.
Thats a really funny idea 😂
Unfortunately that wouldn't work as diesel pumps are a different size and won't fit regular gas vehicles.
