Mark Cruz it takes place several thousand years before The Phantom Menace and the empire that is mentioned is the original Sith Empire. Since the trailer takes place several thousand years before the Ruusan Reformation the Republic actually has a standing army so no there are no clones during this time period.

I always thought the best thing about _Star Wars: The Old Republic_ was that you could create a character of any of the 8 archetypes typical to the series, *and* determine their "alignment" throughout the story.
For example: You could make a *_Sith_* character, but also make noble & honorable choices when playing as them. You could end up with a supposed "bad guy" who's actually _Light-Sided_ and merciful; only killing as a last resort.

Since these trailers were introducing the game before it's launch, each of the characters represents one of the playable classes in the game. They even show them using specific powers players actually get. The female Jedi, Satele Shan, is the head of the Jedi Council at the start of the game.
The head of the Jedi council is known as the Grand Master. Yoda was the Grand Master of the Jedi council in the Star Wars prequels.

The apprentice has to kill his master once he becomes more powerful/has nothing left to learn.
The master in the video was defeated in combat by a jedi, the mortal enemy of the sith.
In Malgus' eyes, his master was pathetic and weak to have lost to a jedi, regardless of how strong the jedi is.
So once he defeated the jedi master himself, he killed his own master and took control. This is the way of the sith.
While they may work together to achieve a larger purpose, there is no brotherhood in the sith. Only a common goal to achieve ultimate power.

Malgus only killed his master at the end cuz he was "upset" with him for "failing" to kill any of the jedi xD
the relationship between a sith master and apprentice is very specific. a sith apprentice owes his master absolute loyalty, but only while that sith master is meeting their own obligation. a sith master is required to give knowledge to their apprentice and to only display strength. Malgus' master was defeated by a jedi that Malgus defeated, and that required Malgus to slay his master according to Sith teachings.

Basically he killed his master, because though Malgus was his “apprentice” they have the same responsibility. If one messes up, or shows any sign of weakness, it’s part of the sith to get rid of em.

I love that a) you're doing these now and b) you obviously got that in-depth knowledge of the lore even if you didn't play the MMO. I can respect that. Basically they were showing off the classes here, Soldier with the minigun, Scoundrel (smuggler) with the dual wield, Sith Inquisitor (skinny master) and Sith Juggernaut (Malgus) and Jedi Knight (master) and Ambassador (Satele).
First off, it's Jedi Consular, not Ambassador. Second, the name of the specific class for your trooper character if they have a minigun is Commando. And finally, the name of the specific smuggler character class in which they use two blasters is called Gunslinger, not Scoundrel.

Star wars geek fact of the day: That jedi that goes 2v1 with the sith is Jedi master Kao Cen Darach. He held the title of battlemaster for a while, battle master title reserved for premier lightsaber combat instructor of the Jedi Order.

The Sith abide by the Rule of Two after Darth Bane established it: When the Sith Apprentice becomes strong he battles the master to the death; of the student wins he becomes the master and searches an apprentice to train him and to later die by his hands, if the master kills the apprentice in the fight he searches for another apprentice.

So what is your guys opinions on the prequels? Not the subscribers, but M Dogg and Struggle Soldier. I personally love the OT and Prequels equally. Both have flaws and contain elements that are just superior than the other trilogy (which can be subjective, obviously). Never known if y'all are purists or all around fans. The reason why Malgus killed his master is because it’s always been that way, it wasn’t refined till Darth Banes rule of two.
The Sith code goes as

The force shall free me.”
While the Jedi code follows
“There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.”
The Jedi code is missing something add the word when to every line only then it makes sense.
But there’s also another code, one a bit more complex than the two if you ever played Knights of the old republic 2 you would have been taught it just look up “The Philosophy of Kreia”
