I'm such a big museum person, and your videos really resonate with me. The way you explore history/art/culture (or whichever specific subject they focus on) reminds me of the joy I get from visiting museums. Your content is just as educational and engaging as a trip to my favorite exhibits! Keep doing what you do - it’s truly inspiring!
I remember taking my son here after he graduated from the Navy Boot Camp/Great Lakes Training Center. He had a bad sore throat but wanted to explore Chicago. Funny how you remember things. Great Video, Jacob! Thank you.
I've only been to Chicago once, but our group took full advantage and visited The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and the Museum of Science and Industry while we were there. It was such a blessing to be able to visit them all when we did. I need to get back up there some day.
If you ever make it to the UK, be sure to check out the Wollaton Hall Natural History Museum in Nottingham! They have lots of vintage taxidermy including the first ever taxidermied gorilla! It was also Wayne Manor in "The Dark Knight Rises" :D
Hi Jacob, I love your content lately. You do a great job. I liked the cat exhibit, and currently take care of three alley cats, two of which come in the house a lot. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, I have visited the great museums in Chicago, and I agree with you that they shouldn't have removed the giant walk-through heart at the Museum of Science and Industry. Looking forward to seeing the Old Town exhibit again.
What’s really interesting is actually the field museum was built in 1893 for the Chicago worlds fair and later on was saved and turned into what is the Field museum thought I’d share that tidbit. You’re walking through really cool history.
I agree with you. I am so glad and also feel fortunate that I grew up going to those as well. I was born in Chicago, so going there was a must. I love both the Field and the Science. I'd go every day if I could! My Dad worked at the Field taking care of vending and was able to show me some of behind-the-scenes things when I was very little. I'm now in my late 50's. I so miss going with my Dad to all the places in the city.
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 the Field Museum is great i never been in it but i have been to the peir when I was in Chicago with my brother and his friend in 2006. It's like a Field trip lol at the Field Museum. Thanks for sharing this, very educational. You Take care my friend.
I will freely admit my bias as a native born Chicagoan, but you're right calling the museums as some of the best in the world. The cafeteria really hit me hard in the nostalgia. I can vividly remember being seven, eight, nine years old and so on eating my lunch with my class in that cafeteria. As for the sculptures being racist, I don't think they are, as I seem to recall that they were commissioned by a scientific study to determine the difference in races. It might have been inspired by racist beliefs, but I don't believe it's racist in and of itself. And I've always said that if you hate everyone equally, it's not racist.
The public schools I went to used this place as their default field trip destination. I went there so many times growing up I got tired of it and didn't go back until my kids were old enough to appreciate it.
At 34:00 no one has to pretend to be offended by that exhibit it’s a cool way to show off different cultures and facial features and all types of different things
Hey Jacob, the two museums that I grew up going to are the "North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences" in Raleigh, NC and the "Museum of Life and Science" in Durham, NC. I don't know if you've ever been to them or not but you might like to visit them since you also live in North Carolina. You could probably visit both of them in the same day since they're not that far from each other. Also, you could visit Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC since they have a really nice antique Dentzel carousel. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
The Pensacola Naval Air Museum and the Lighthouse across the street from it at Pensacola, FL are really worth a visit. For a couple of years, they weren't letting the public on base to get to the museum, but it is now available to the public.
I love the natural museums. Il you go to Boston, there are many cool museums. I love the Museum in Cambridge, Harvard Square, The Peabody Museum. Very cool dinosaurs, many taxadermy animals, and an incredibile part on gets, and crystals. Plus a glass flower show. Ma favorite place. In Bostonof course there is the Science Museum and The Aquarium plus much more.
Just to the north of Chicago in Kenosha WI, there you could visit 4 museums within a few blocks: The Kenosha Public Museum, The Dinosaur Discovery Museum, The Civil War Museum and the Kenosha Historical Society Museum.
The Museum of Science in Boston is always great and I loved growing up going to it on field trips. I know you have a lot of memberships but you should invest in either an Association of Science and Technology Centers or a North American Reciprocal Museum Association membership given it covers more than 500 museums and science centers around the country and allows you discounts for parking, regular tickets, and ticketed exhibits. When we were museum members as a kid, we could use our membership perks at other museums and zoos
The reason why all cats tongue feels bumpy is because they have what looks just the nails you see on their feet which which is made for shredding the meat that they're eating while also chewing with their teet. That why you get scratched when a cat licks you.
Wanted to let you know Jacob me and my family went to the louisville Zoo today and we also did the Mega Cave lights was awesome thanks again for the content
And I put money on it that the parents didn't stop them from jumping up and down on the mummy's face 🤦🏼 Don't you fear for the future 🤷🏼 Thanks both 👍🏼🇬🇧
Check out Top of the Rock in Branson. (Chicagoan here) went there this past year. Great Native American/us history museum with some incredible artifacts and taxidermy as well.
I had a great tour of that museum with you, Jacob! Why did you just do less than 50% of it? Maybe you would consider doing two more videos of the rest of it? I'm pretty sure I would never have gotten out to Milwaukee to see that, so I know you definitely shared really great content, and I appreciate that. Thank You.
C'Bag! You the man! Ty for covering The Museum Of Science And Industry plus here. Both aren't far from me but I just can't get to them. Hope you visit Shedd Aquarium.
You SHOULD visit John G Shedd Aquarium and down the street is Adler Planetarium It's right across the street! Merry Christmas Blessings and HUGS MARANATHA 👑💜🔯🎅
Jacob. I have a suggestion if we're to head back to Minnesota especially Minneapolis there is a Prince museum if u are interested very nice experience.😀
I was surprised that you grew up near Chicago and you did not know that Windy City did not mean a sold windy Chicago. It was named after long-winded politicians.
I find such issue with mummies in museums. I think it’s such a shame that the dead of people who cared so much about the afterlife, is not respected and instead is put on display.

I remember being very excited as a child to go to this Museum even though most of this Museum scared me😮
They really should have included a Kit-Kat clock, since they went cartoon.
Thanks Jacob! I live in the Chicago suburbs and love both museums ❤️
It's always nice hearing your laughter as you enjoy these adventures.
Beautiful job showing all of the wonderful exhibits. It is one of my favorite museums!!!!
I had my picture taken right in front of that door on 10 Downing St. in 1971. Can’t get anywhere near that building now.
Loved going to this museum in the summers. Grew up a couple hours from Chicago and lived in the city for a few years . This is my favorite museum.

Tank museum in Danville, VA and the US Army Transportation Museum at Ft. Eustis, VA (near Williamsburg). Both impressive and massive displays

Yay! Sue! I want to visit there one day.
Awesome you’re here in Chicago! I’m in the West suburbs!
I had a panic attack there cause the ceiling was too high.
I have a bit of a fascination with taxidermy I think it's because I'll probably never get to see most of these in the wild so they fascinate me
2025, the year of the fridge magnet?
Been waiting for this video update
Fun awesome video

Jacob, as the year winds down, what are the criteria for the year of items? I thought of snow globes, but that seems that it would be costly.

12:56 Why did they choose Sprigatito? Meowth would’ve made more sense because it’s the very first cat Pokémon.
Your friend had a Mizzou Tigers shirt..
How much ground could a groundhog grind if a groundhog could grind ground?
I find such issue with mummies in museums. I think it’s such a shame that the dead of people who cared so much about the afterlife, is not respected and instead is put on display.
