- I think this is the best lift money can buy for a normal 8' ceiling garage/shop. This is not a sponsored video, I just like to share when I come across a great USA made product. Happy wrenchin!

I have the same kwiklift since 2003 and love it. I have two centerlift bridges in case I need to lift the entire vehicle while on the lift!
Being cut in half remembembers me Chris Angel trick half body running away in a park 😂😂😂
They don't make them anymore "due to rising steel prices." Not sure why they don't just raise the prices and keep making them.
People aren’t gonna buy many $20 dollar .99 cent ice cream cones.
Wish they still made these
You're gonna be golden changing hydraulic fluid and filter on your tractor, too. Sure beats squeezin' under a rear axle.
My Mahindra is too heavy for this lift unfortunately. But for everything else with 4 wheels under 5k it's great.
Definitely agree that being cut in half is one of the worst situations..😂
Agreed
Hi, thanks for the video! I’ve found this video when I was looking for good ideas of DIY car lift. I am living in Japan and this type of car lift is quite new for me. Thanks!
i might add.........in place of hyedaulic jack get yourself,a scizzer jack from harbor freight and a 3/8'' portable drill and a socket to fit the jack and let the drill ,jack it up for you......instead of pumping the jack .....a lot easier.only my two cents.
I have the Air/ Hydraulic floor jack. Works great.
Sounds like the jack is whispering lil bit higher. Lol what a rhythm
I heard that too! Lol
Here is another idea that might save the labor of pumping up the rear end:
A similar set-up, but with the front end supports arranged closer / near the middle of the whole thing (I know, it would change the approach angle, unless the ramps are made longer). You would still need front supports, but the position of the vehicle would tip the front end down while the rear end would come up, no jack labor involved. Then, similar as shown in your video, adjustable rear supports would stabilize the arrangement. Maybe ;- )
Great video, thank you for sharing and giving a good explanation and demo, I appreciate it!
Stark difference between the pivot in front and in the rear. The rear looks trustable where I'm a bit uncertain about the front pin setup.
The front actually sets on a flat piece of steel welded onto the stands. The pin is just to keep everything in line.
@@TheHandsOnChannel Thanks for the clarification! Appreciated.
thanks for the info as it helped me before my purchase
Real nice lift setup.
Thank you!
Thanks for showing these. I think they seem like a good option for DIYers.
Being cut in half; the ultimate example of being beside oneself! 😆
What did I miss? Cut in half?
Seems like a handy lift. tHanks for the video
Dude! You could easily have a career in voice overs...
Ive got a shit load of 3" x 1/4" angle iron 1," 2", 4" and 6" square steel tubing, grade 8 bolts and a miller mig 220 . Ill give it a shot 😂 butitll be much taller with a much higher capacity.
Man i wonder if my 2 door 4x4 blazer would stress this? Last i saw it weighed 5600 (with me in it) when i went throught a recycling scale
Thanks Bro I found a the Place!!!!!!!!!!!👍🙂
I have one of these ramp kits It works awesome. Do you know what the lift height of the jack has to be to lower the legs? I'm about to go out and buy a jack but no where I read says what the requirements of the lift height of the jack needs to be. Thank you
I don't know what this thing costs but the QuickJack is so much better and you can hang it on the wall when not in use.
I have this lift and I disagree with you, but I am able to keep it up in place at all times, because I park on it.
This looked like it would work in my low ceiling garage. You lucked out, when I went to their site they have this message posted,
" We have currently halted Kwik-Lift production as of 2/3/2022 due to rising steel prices. We do NOT know when we will resume production. All Kwik-Lifts and accessories are out of stock until further notice. Check back here for the latest updates. We appreciate your understanding."
Stay safe, Joe Z
Watch for a used one on craigslist or fb marketplace.
@@TheHandsOnChannel Thank you. Nothing there as of today.
Had my 2016 Colorado on it.
The only problem I see is the price. the ranger quick jack lifts cost around the same or less and they come with hydraulics. I'm thinking about making something like this ramp
I want to stick one of these under ground. ruclips.net/video/XrY8VLdyh0M/видео.html
Just make a platform. Then use trailer ramps to drive on it.
Half the cost twice as easy....
I park my 2002 garage kept T/A that has 17,000 miles on it.
What was the max weight on that? 5,000 pounds? I think it would be a stretch for my Suburban or my Silverado, but I could see getting the Camaro up on that without any issues. I like it!!
Yes it says 5k max. I could probably get my 1/2 ton truck on it but not my 3/4 ton suburban.
Kinda big for something that still doesn’t let you remove wheels or do suspension/steering work.
You can remove wheels with the cross brace. You simply place the brace under a jack point, jack the car up, and use jack stands either on the ramps or on the brace. I've done brakes, cv joints, ball joints etc. on this ramp and it's very versatile.
@@TheHandsOnChannel Awesome! Thanks.
Thanks for making the video. How wide is each ramp?
I'm not looking at it at the moment but I'd say they are 18-24'' wide. I will verify that later and get back to ya.
Genius
I don’t know if this was answered already but instead of moving them aside to keep your full car bay would it be possible to just leave the ramps and park the car on it? Or would the ramps stress
Great idea. Yes you could park on the ramps and it wouldn't hurt them at all. If I were going to park on them daily I'd install a mirror in front of the ramps to help stay in line.
You can also fold down or remove the ends so the lift itself is more or less flush to the ground :)
@@TheHandsOnChannelor hang up some tennis balls or something as guide markers. That's what my dad did when I was a new driver to help me center my car in the garage bay.
Genial, genio
Unfortunately they stopped building these lifts.
nice
Not sure about this. I think it would be very useful but not real practical for the price and size for storing. If you had a big enough shop. My problem is that it looks like you can only get under the car from the front or back. Not the side of the car. That would make it impractical.
You can slide under the car on a creeper from the side.
Do you think tower of that ramp can be installed with wheels to move it around?
Yes I've thought about adding some casters. It's on my "one of these days" list of things to do.
@@TheHandsOnChannel It would be a lot easier to move it around but at the same time, I am not sure what kind of heavy-duty casters would withstand all that weight...
The company offers caster sets that are made by them!!! Look for their video on RUclips. They show rolling the ramps WITH a vehicle on it!!! I would want to lock the width between the ramps if I was going to roll it with anything on it.
How much do it cost ?
Do you have room to drop a transmission down ?
It'd be nice if they made it higher so you can have room to drop a motor and transmission down?
The floor jack wold be the limitation also the ramp would have to be longer or steeper angle to go higher. Not to mention dropping a engine would require removal of the wheels and sub frame on most newer vehicles.
With all that metal supporting the vehicle, access to the underside is a little restricted, is it not?☹
I haven't had a problem with access. I mean a 2 post high lift would be easier because I could stand rather than using a creeper, but in my space this works great.
Coulda' used one of these this mornin' when I was cussin' and throwin' shit !
👍
Wow
I didn't see a link.
Not sure they still make them.
Cant change tires?
Sure you can. Just put a jack on that center lift bridge.
Is it just me or is it saying "higher, higher, higher,"
Hi
Shit was bending in the middle when he was driving up it....🙈
I blew up the picture and zoomed in and it's bending very very little.
As of Feb. 2022 they stopped making these.
Oh man, that sucks! Thanks for letting us know.
That looks so unstable
Just contacted the company and they said due to the cost of steel, they are not being produced right now.
Common Trump 🇺🇲
-Let's go brandon
Wondering if a ‘63 C10 1/2 ton truck would be okay on this?…🤞🏽
If it's under 5,000 lbs it'll work.
This has to be the worst setup I have every seen. LOL
Quickjack in a false locked condition : hold my beer.
Chinese made. 🇨🇳
