      I would add to your design a plate on the bottom with a lip that would prevent the jack from jumping out from under it because the nature of these Jack's is to travel backyards as you're jacking the car up.
      Your invention is really useful for doing a ton of work underneath a car because it gets the tires out of the way yet is much safer than removing the tires in case somehow it were to fall.
      Thanks for posting!

      You are right that you should use axle stands but this is a great way to lift the car to put the axle stands in before you get under the car
      they make hoists that lift the whole car on four arms and they are safe.
      This would more than likely easily hold more than the jack could lift. If anything it is over engineered.
      The car probably weighs around 2,000kg which means 500kg per side on the stand, not really much for the size of the steel used.

  • @wngimageanddesign9546
    @wngimageanddesign9546 10 месяцев назад +5

    Nice first attempt. But it would be more useful for cars that can't move under own power if the 4 rods were wider, and are inserted into receivers. This way you position it under the car, insert the 4 rods front and aft of tires, and lift. Lower the car elsewhere or when done, pull out 4 rods, remove the assembly and jack.

    This is a simple and interesting device, but it is only suitable for cars with a huge ground clearance. Most modern cars are not compatible with it. The device will only work with the back where there is a void. In front, there is the suspension, the engine crankcase, and its protection, there is barely 130 mm clear.
    In addition, a square pipe for heavy cars needs to be reinforced with scarves from the bottom to ensure sufficient rigidity. Because even in the video you can see how the pipe bends. After 10 lifts, it will take the shape of a hemisphere.

    I wouldn’t trust it with out blocks under the wheels, so if you have to use blocks why not just use ramps. It’ll be easy to weld some drop down stabilizing legs on it though , maybe some straps over the tires to fasten it down .. Pretty good idea 🤙

    • @dave5176
      @dave5176 8 месяцев назад

      I can't use the ramps sometimes because they get in the way when putting jacks under. And my Corvette won't clear the ramps. And there's only one place where you can put the ramps on, so lifting this way makes sense. And bricks or two by fours are blocks.

    Wouldn't need that often, could just use the jack by itself. That would come in handy for vans with the twin I- Beams though. You can't lift them up dead center in the front.

    would be a lot better used with a low clearance jack to bring down the height of it, great for transverse engines where they either have no jack point at the front or its off set due to the engine, g'box layout

      You set the vehicle on jack stands as you should to begin with lol I think this device is intended to lift the vehicle at one rather than using the frame 👍

    something to be built for the jack part itself, so it doesn't slip. can you raise it higher or was that the maximum height ? also, make connections for the jack stands to hold it, so you can make front and back ones. raise the whole car

    looks impressive but if you can i would use good quality ramps, i found they work better and safer than anything else i have use except for 12 in blocks with 4x4 on top of them so the blocks dont split,

    Se o carro mexer pra frente um pouco ele cai, ficou perigoso, se fizer as barras um pouco mais distantes para abracar melhor o pneu e deixar o centro de gravidade um pouco mais baixo vai ficar perfeito! Parabens pela idéia criativa!!!!

    I use 4 plastic ramps at same time and drive up them lifting entire van 10 inches in 10 seconds. No jack needed.

    But to see an independent man make one brilliant. Make sure you use support (jack stands)👍🏿

    all you need is two legs on each side with holes and you can pin it at different heights so the stress is not on the jack.
