Xiaomi has 3 different names for a single phone, has 10 way to say "lite" and 8 different ways to say "pro". Why are their names so confusing?

While techy consumers don't care about names, Xiaomi use these names intentionally to confuse non-techy consumers.
This is how my family sees USB when I try to explain the confusing versions 🤓
usb-c made that a whole bunch worse
Yep. I still wonder what jackass came up with their version numbers at some point. Everything was allright untill USB 3. Number indicates the Generation and a .X indicated it's slightly faster but not really the new generations. And then it all went downhill and I still can't really figure out what the fuck is supposed to be what the fuck.
Anyway, ain't your families fault for not understanding this Mess. And ain't your fault either; the naming of their standards just became batshit crazy.
USB should be renamed like WiFi.

But there is actually A more consistent Upgrade in Sony’s lineup than in Xaomi’s... for example: you could shorten them by removing the zeros, so they’d be called WF-1000XM4 to WF-XM4 I have no idea what WF stands for, but XM means Mark apparently.... the number after XM is based on the generation , And its much more simpler since Sony Didn’t do the same on PlayStations thankfully
But if you look at their smartphones , It’s another story , However, it’s still not as confusing as Xaomis ...
Wow. Thank you so much for making this video, I'm so glad a big creator is finally shining some light on these super cofusing naming schemes Xiaomi has been using. It's an absolute disaster.

You consistently make videos about topics that I don't see others making. Earlier today I was thinking about how companies acting in free markets usually "herd" together such that consumer choice is often frustratingly limited despite a vast possibility space existing (I'm not sure but it might be a risk minimisation strategy). To work against this trend, as you do, is truly exceptional and praiseworthy.

Samsung's M and A series are also confusing considering majority of those use same processor "Exynous 9611 " and sharing same design language

Samsung Naming is more organized then Xiaomi now. S stands for newer version. And the Exynoss 9611 i think its beacouse if you compare M31 vs A31 M31 wins in Battery,Camera(MP(Marketing)), and i believe the Reason Samsung dont use other chipset is beacouse Making your own chipset is like 30% cheaper and the reason why Samsung uses bad chipsets are beacouse Amoled Screens are Expensive.

Pretty straightforward, right? But in Xiaomi, unless you're a tech guy, "s" letter either means it's a lite model, a higher specs version of the same generation, or even a different model entirely.
