    Man, you covered my exact situation. I had researched the hell out of these handhelds for travel, work, and play. I settled on the OneXFly for its portability and hand feel, and bought a GPD G1 eGPU with the intention of doing my game development work on it. But the handheldness of the Fly was just a roadblock for me to dock it, or use it as a mobile desktop. I even got a pair of xreal airs, and while it was fun for games, i couldnt sit down to do work with. Your in depth reviews and critical eye for design and tech helped seal the deal for me. I just ordered an X1 mini thanks to your video! Liked and subbed. Keep up the great work!

    I like tablets for drawing and reading comics, I like a laptop to write and work and I love playing games on a handheld. This 3 in 1 concept is an awesome solution for people like me. And I would say that it could be consider a 4 in 1 if you conect it to a tv or monitor to play games with friends.

      It's a very capable device, I would advise you though, the screen doesn't have a digitizer like the X1 does. Meaning that active pens do not work, you have to use a capacitive one, still a working solution but you'll have no pressure point support and not as precise also. But yeah, 4-in-1, seems like the next step of evolution for OneXPlayer! 😂

    What kind of fps do you get on aaa games does the 32gb make a big difference graphics and fps wise

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  10 дней назад +1

      It would be a bit long to explain over a YT comment but in a nutshell, more ram can indeed increase FPS in selected few situations, but having less of it, while having more than enough can also in other situations.
      Ultimately, go with more ram for futureproofing, for if you intend to do a lot more than just gaming.
      But if we're talking gaming, 32gb is the current sweet spot to have at least 16gb of dedicated vram at all times. 64gb is a bit more futureproof but considering the power output, chances are it won't really be all that helpful for gaming past extremely rare occasions that require unusually lot of ram or have mem leak issues.
      As to what kind of fps, it greatly depends on the settings of the game but I'd say 60fps is achievable on pretty much every AAA if your willing to keep graphics at low and lower your resolution between 540p to 720p. With that said, that would be the bare minimum, most games you'd be able to crank it much higher like say mid presets @ 900p. I hope this helps.

      In my sincere most opinion, yes. With that said, some people prefer to go for the convenient options from the local store and I absolutely understand that. There is extra layers of "friction" that come with those boutique-type handheld PCs. I have built a massive tolerance over the years and the reliability and quality have increased to unprecendented levels, so while it's still not as easy as ordering one on BestBuy that I can return within 30 days, it's still very much worth it. Still, not everyone would think the same and I can understand that too.

    Hey, mate! Thank you for your deep review, I had steam deck and rog ally, now i am thinking about x1 and x1 mini, i dont have pc,notebook so want one device for everything, use as handheld + connect to monitor, so I have two questions: x1 or x1 mini? And is it worth to pay 64gb of ram or 32gb ram is enough? Thank you in advance.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      If you will be doing a fair amount of productivity, 64gb of ram is the better option because while 32gb ram is going to be enough for 99% of games, if you keep a chrome browser with 15 tabs opened and you alt-tabbed as you game, you will impact performance. You will still do so on 64gb of ram but the impact will be far less because your OS and your games will have a bigger pool to work from.
      As for X1 Mini vs X1, I'd say your decision should rely on what your device will be for primarily. If gaming in bed is your #1 use-case, the X1 Mini is honestly much better at handheld gaming. If you will dock it most times, the X1 and it's larger screen does make the "laptop" experience better overall. I hope this helps, cheers!

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад

      The gap in difference between the X1 and X1 Mini are negligible to non-existent as they basically use exactly the same. The performance difference versus the ROG ALLY X would be indeed present but probably also very negligible despite being more prominent. What I would recommend ultimately is to still go ROG ALLY X because of VRR and landscape panel effectively making AFMF2 viable if there is the ability to use frame gen with the game you wish to play.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, the ergonomics of the controller are pretty much an overall "universal" type of profile, think Xbox Series controller or Dualsense. The sticks might lack a bit of height for you but you can address that with cap sleeves. Overall, not only is it better than most other handhelds to that effect, It's in a completely different ballpark and one that I feel would overall be better suited for any type of gamer.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  6 месяцев назад +1

      The argument comes the fact that OLED has blazingly fast response time, which renders VRR nearly useless, for 1. For 2, colors and contrast are just off the charts in comparison. 3, because response time is so high, 90hz on OLED often feels more responsive (panel wise) than equivalent on LCD tech, last but not least, having a native lower resolution can also improve clarity when playing at said resolution. The Legion Go on the other end, if you lower signal to 800p, it's not as clear.
      I see your point, I really do, but whereas Legion Go/X1 Mini offer an overkill solution (which is my preference btw), from a technical, technological and logical point-of-view, the SD OLED panel is arguably best for what handheld primarily is designed for. At the end of the day though, you go with what is best for you, as I do for me. That is why my SD OLED has no more than honestly 5 hours played total. I already bested it with an X1 Mini I had for 5 days, that should tell you where I stand.

      I mean... It's a VERY VERY different type of experience but if you don't have Apple devices, I'd say the iPad Pro to be honest. It's a more frictionless approach and personally, I like the thought of diversifying my operating systems to always keep me knowledgeable of each. But with that said, maybe you are Apple all-around and the X1 Mini would be the Windows device entering your life, after which case, I'd completely flip my answer 😅 But overall, if you spend more going for the Mini will also get more all around, as long as you put the effort and time in to tweak it.
