I own this car in Daytona Gray. Heads turn everywhere I go. It’s crazy! People have just not seen this car on the road at all. I know the first time I saw it live was when I saw mine.
Amazing review. I have been looking at TT and you none of the auto journalists could really convey what this car is like except you. I wish you success in making youtube videos!
Good video of a great car, Shubinine. I am proud owner of an '08 TT 3.2L roadster and love the way it drives!!! Your enthusiasm for your fine ride shows. Keep up the greatness.
While I love the TT, the TTS is PURE OMG, the RS is just simply SUPERMAN- from another world, just hate that rear STI SPOILER or should I say POLICE come get me for nothing but being a whale tale:( hope thats a delete feature! RS= 0-60 n 3 flat all day! thats near 911 turbo speed!
Love this car! I had a 2012 TTS until this past May, when I got the 2016! I was very happy with the changes. This is a much better car than its predecessor. Thanks for the video. Oh, and I LOVE the amplified engine sound in the cockpit! I only drive in S-dynamic!
Haha i hate it, i want to disable it, don't yet know how to though, wish there was an option for those of us who don't want it to disable it and those who like it to still have it. Thanks for watching!
Shubinine You can go into drive control settings and click 'individual', then set the engine sound to lowest setting; you can still set other settings to dynamic. Then always be in 'individual' drive select.... that's it...
Does the s tronic upshift itself when you use the paddle shifters in dynamic mode when you hit redline, I heard they all upshift even the s3. I would find that annoying, can you get rid of that with a tcu map or ecu map?, I want to get one but that would be putting me off with the gear changes
imran bajwa Good question.... I replied above 3 years ago... had a 2012, then a 2016, and now I have a 2019... to my knowledge, it does not upshift on its own at redline if I’m manual mode whether using paddles or stick.... in non-manual, it self-shifts .... this is the setting that matters regardless of whether you set the tuning to sport or whatever...
@@DisneyVacationFamily was there any reason behind you moving from the 2016 TTS to the 2019 model, apart from it being the facelift, is the 2019 TTS better in all depts or just a better gearbox?
I just wish this brilliant car sounded better/more aggressive. It simply does not represent the 300+ horse power. A Mini Cooper S with JCW Pro Exhaust for example has amazing sound, I'd say the best 4-cylinder sound out there.
Great video, thanks for uploading. Such a head turner this TTS, for sure. I almost bought the TT second gen but in the end got the BMW E92 330i instead. I needed the extra practicality of a true 4 seater and the cavernous 440l boot I enjoy the RWD, longitudinal engine configuration (less lateral movement when turning), the 6 cyl smoothness and the better feedback at the driving wheel.
If I were you , I would've definitely gone for TT. But in terms of practicality I'm sure BMW takes the trophy. The choice is relative to the usage , I guess.
Hey Stefan, just taken delivery of a 2015 TTS in Sepang Blue, you do have some good options on there that I don’t have such as the rear camera and the blind spot monitor and I do live the grey alcantara seats 👍
since the 2015 model i believe the exterior changes have made this car a mans car FINALLY, although its what you want not others.........wonder how many were not bought because of previous looks........... on point now especially with those led light and signals in the rear OMG something that porsche has always held a spot! Porsche is sweet sick period, but for average of 30,000 cheaper with twice as much options-well se why sales have dramatically increased for audi and the price is staying competitive
Here is a slightly philosophical take on our car. It makes EVERYONE a fast driver. I sometimes feel that the car executes so well, that my skills as a good driver are really not necessary. There is no new driving skill that I can learn that will make the car perform better; for example heel-toe shifting. The car will shift quicker than me, and apply torque in a prescribed manner perfectly. So, what about me, the driving enthusiast?
my friend i love your video and i want to tell you that the back seats are for one purpose only, to use it, just to tell the wife to let you buy it . "my love that car has back seats for our children its made for our family"
J'ai du mal à savoir comment et ce bleu il tire vers le violet un peu foncé ou alors un bleu clair métal un peu comme les BM m3 d'avant? Il y a qu'un seul bleu il me semble sur tt

Yes, I know it uses Gen5 Haldex. The differences between the versions are all to do with the position and operation of the dynamic clutch. It's still Haldex by design, it is physically impossible to send more than 50% the rear, I promise you! In fact sometimes in brochures from car manufactures or (particularly) motoring journalists, you might read it can send 100% to the rear; this is just plain wrong. Haldex cannot do that. It can actually send 100% of 50%, because 50% is the most that can be sent to the propshaft that goes to the rear. If you look into it you'll see that the Haldex clutch unit on your TT is at the rear wheels. The front wheels are always connected and a propshaft (always turning) runs to the Haldex controller at the rear, where the clutch engages to send power to the rear wheels. The power split is 100%-front 0%-rear when this clutch is fully open, or 50%-front 50%-rear when this clutch is fully closed. There is simply no physical way with Haldex that more than 50% power can be sent to the rear, which is because there is NO clutch to cut power to the front wheels, there is only a single clutch which controls power to the rear wheels. The only time Haldex (any gen) can send more than 50% to the rear is if the front looses grip, ie on ice or off the ground completely. Hopefully, you now understand (unlike most motoring journalists!) that it can only be 50% because of the physical way it works :-)
There is a TSB for the seat trim coming loose, I just had mine replaced (They won't charge you). Here's the TSB: #2042470/1 The original piece had defective clips, they will replace all 4 pieces.
yes, had mine replaced as well, for free. They are defective from Audi. after the replacement, it's perfect, very flush and feel solid now. I wonder why the QC crapped out here.
Congratulations for the video and thanks for all the informations. About the brake pads: do you pay 450 euro for front and rear set, or just for the front? Did you bought for this price stock Audi brake pads or aftermarket brake pads for trackdays? Thanks.

Nice review, when driving in the sport manual mode will the car up shift itself when it hits redline? Hi Shubinine, i am thinking about buying aTT.... But i still don`t know if it is better to buy a TT instead of a TTS... What is your take on this? Are you still excited about your TTS? After owning the car for about 2 years now, do you still think that your TTS is quite comfortable on long motor journeys? Greetings from Germany...
Hey! I've done 2 road trips of 5000 km and one of 2000 km, it's not that bad, but my back was sore after the entire day on the road. The car has since lost a bit of its wow factor for me, I'm hoping to replace it sometime soon.
Shubinine that’s disappointing. I just got my 2017 in Glacier White and I can’t stop staring at it lol. Yes, the ride is harsh on those 20” rims, and some 19’s would probably soften it, but that sexy look... Nice review man!

I traded in a 2014 Cayman S. for a 2017 TTS in the same blue as this one. Worst mistake I ever made. The virtual cockpit kept crashing and the stupid tapered cup holder was nearly useless. In Dynamic mode on 20" rims it rides too stiff and punishing. The stereo was great. I sold the car after only two months from purchasing it. Purchased another Cayman and have not looked back!
Hi - I've got same car, 2015 TTS in red. I do like most things about it, but I find the suspension unbelievably hard even in comfort - do you not find it awful over bumps and potholes ?
It makes horrible noises over potholes and bumps but other than that I actually wish it was harder in dynamic, as for comfort i think it's still pretty good considering it's a sports car.
It is a decent looking car but one could only call the proportions "stubby." Compared to something with proper proportions like the Cayman, Z4 or something, it is very squat and fat.

I have to say I agree, the sound is very muted, probably to keep a clear level between S and RS, meanwhile the mini is top of the line.
