  • You want a coupe. You also want a hatchback. In addition, you'd like it to be sporty, have a touch of luxury, and boast the latest in interior tech. That's not a long list of vehicles you're going to be looking at... in fact, there's pretty much just one and it's called the 2016 Audi TTS.
    Luckily for you... it's pretty damn good.

      @@d4rkn065 Absolutely. Very fun and more nimble than the other two. Also very unique. I get so many looks, stares, and compliments. All three cars need an upgraded exhaust and downpipe to sound euro. I chose MillTek which required a Revo Stage 2 tune. Worth it.

    Want some better news? A simple stage 1 tune: 0-60 3.5, 0-100 9.2, 1/4 mile ~12. That's R8 V8 territory.

    • @kraenk12
      @kraenk12 8 лет назад

      +Abe From an Car already is R8 V8 territory. 3.5 is quite a bit faster already!

    • @ivanmatz5812
      @ivanmatz5812 8 лет назад

      +Abe From an Sorry, but I'm kinda new to all this. What exactly is a stage 1 tune?

    • @Tim._..
      @Tim._.. 8 лет назад +1

      +Ivan Matz It is normally just an ECU reflash and/or upgrade parts like exhaust, down pipe and intake. To get Stage 2 you need to upgrade parts that are the next bottleneck (eg like upgrading the Turbo) and re-flash again and same for stage 3 (if one exists). There is no exact definition. A tuner company will decide what they think a stage 1, 2 or 3 is. You can Google for more info.

    • @JoJoJoker
      @JoJoJoker 8 лет назад +1

      +DuBstep115 "tune" could mean a $5,000 Stage 3 ECU Tune with 400 horsepower. Stage 1 is an old term - at least as old as Yenko Corvalrs in the 60s. Most people know. A few who don't also neglect to Google "Audi TT Stage 1" on the device they clearly have at their disposal.

    • @DuBstep115
      @DuBstep115 8 лет назад +1

      Abe From an No.. Or tune could mean that my friend plays with the ecu and i make my self new turbo manifold and add bigger turbo. Now i have tuned it. No stages needed

    If you get the sports exhaust and drive it in Dynamic mode the sound is pure joy. Rivals that of the Cayman 718 turbo. I also like that they allow you get the same tires as on the new Audio R8 and Cockpit. but the back end needs something a bit more unique , but for a sport coupe that can handle (3) 27 inch imacs and than some, it pretty sweet and full of surprises ... I plan on posting a video for those that need a push.

    You make it rear wheel biased by putting it on dynamic mode. He also forgot to mention that the transmission is a dct

    • @TheHooniverse
      @TheHooniverse  8 лет назад +6

      +ps3traceur I didn't forget to mention it... everyone knows what gearbox these things have. Also, Dynamic mode certainly sends more torque rearward... but it's not as noticeable as it should be. Take a car like the Jaguar F-Type R for example, now that is how I like my Rear-bias AWD systems to behave. -JG

    Is it that hard to tune an engine where Audi has to have the same engine tune for the S3, TTS, and Golf R. Im sorry but the Audi's should be at least 300hp to separate itself from a Golf.

    • @3232schmitty
      @3232schmitty 8 лет назад +1

      +Turbo4Life1217 There's a couple things going on here that separate this fro a Golf R/ S3. First the TTS can do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, where as the S3 does it in 4.4 and the Golf R in 4.5 seconds according to Car and Driver. This also has a shorter wheelbase and less weight so it will handle a better than either of those cars. On a skid pad the TTS will do 0.97 G's laterally while the Golf R will do 0.95 G's (both Car and Driver) and the S3 will do 0.92 (Motor Trend).

    • @TheAdventureAuto
      @TheAdventureAuto 8 лет назад

      +Bailey Smith Yea I totally understand all your points, but I guess you'd just assume that even tho the TT outperforms in all categories, for the increase in price they could tweak the tuning so it would separate itself from a VW.

    • @3232schmitty
      @3232schmitty 8 лет назад

      Turbo4Life1217 There's always the aftermarket, there's a company called abt that can get this up to 370hp, and tweaks the exhaust a bit. Shmee150 has a nice video on it

    • @KniKnaKnorke
      @KniKnaKnorke 6 лет назад

      Fully loaded you will be around 65k. But dont forget with that money you pay engineers which are only responsible to find the exact right click sound and feeling for mmi wheel or the clima controls. and belive me this extra work is worth it. it gives you the feeling that everything at this car is thoughtful and well built.

      I know, and I've never understood why. They have such a short wheel base,they'd be cheeper to make and they never go off-road. I could garantee they would be faster round a track due to the decreased drivetrain loss and weight reduction if they where RWD

      +Lachlan1662 In, short the MQB platform was designed for front drive and AWD cars, it can do rear wheel drive, but not as well as other platforms could. Also Audi has their Quattro system, it's a tradition for their performance cars and most of their regular cars to have it. It dates back to Audi's Quattro rally car that dominated group B for years.
