great video bro. Loved the whole POV aspect👍
Greate non biased review. 👍 u have very good presentation, commentary & good camera work.
I think u wld be very surprised, if u drove a remaped tts - cheap to do,, with a rear sway bar ,,turn in is greatly improved ..
Wow...
Just picked up my first TTS today.
Looking forward to the B roads tomorrow
I own one of these. They're not cheap, but for the money you'll struggle to find a better daily driver Coupe (as long as you don't need back seats).
how is it as a daily commute car and what can you say with the maintenance and parts availability
@@soren5801 as a daily commute car, I have absolutely no complaints. In comfort mode it’s surprisingly refined, people say that the DSG is grabby at slow speeds but I don’t agree, it’s more than fine. The maintenance is generally decent but being a German car, anything related to cooling is usually overpriced, so I needed a new thermostat and front radiator and it costed close to £1,000, but that’s probably the most expensive bill I’m going to get for a long, long time.
Edit: That price also includes Labour so if you do it yourself it would be less, and again, most other repairs are much cheaper.
@@SatanDotExeHow long have you owned it? I really want to get a TTS next year
@@marcoperez4555 Owned it only since January but nevertheless, I’m yet to have any non-maintenance related issues. It’s a blast.
Me too. There really is no alternative. Love the boot space. And still looks better than cars released nowadays.
Audi really nailed it by making it driver focused with everything you need on the heads-up display.
All these manufacturers now pumping tablets and multiple screens with touchscreen control on new cars especially EVs. These cars will all look aged and outdated in just a few years then they'll reduce to nothing more than an old tech.
when you say something like "the front wheel seem to have unlimited grip" you have to understand the system. They feel that way because at the moment of slip they offload torque to the rear so of course they don't slip!
Love your enthusiasm 😂
Loved mine changed it for S4 avant diesel as needed more boot space plus kept hitting potholes in the TTS as couldn’t see them that easily from the low driving position
Great video showing performance and efficiency with a helpful point of view of the dashboard! Would it be possible to do a Porsche 718 Cayman pov/review like this one?
at some point we should be able to do one.
My absolute dream car...
Best TT pov
100% for sure. Never found a better one and I really have seen each and everyone.
this is what i need
The newer ea888 gen3's with mqb chassis vehicles are all brilliant
they really are.
"this is not a sports car"??????WHAT? 0-100 IN 4,6, PLUS ITS HANDLING....very much a sports car
A Tesla cybertruck does 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Would you say that’s a sports car? It handles like a hot hatch, not a sports car.
@@ParagonCarsLondonI have to agree with the guy, I love your reviews but I can't shake the feeling of you not liking Audi's.. Dont get me wrong, I owned both Bmw and Audi, I agree with you, Bmw is simply sportier, but what you as the reviewer must understand is that not everyone wants the same thing. If you compare a BMW E92 335i with the TTS MK2 for example, Bmw feels sportier but also super heavy steering ( great feedback ) makes it feel heavier from the driver's seat then the TTS feels , to me for example that's a difference that will decide what to buy, even tho the BMW can be sportier, doesn't take away the sportiness from the TTS.. What I get from you is you're always trying to compare Audi to BMW , as a reviewer you should think about the type of owners that will drive the specific car you are reviewing, not just your personal opinion which seems biased tbh, feels like you don't want to allow yourself to actually like VAG car's, there is always a " but " no matter howmuch you seem to enjoy it, don't go driving an Audi thinking about a BMW, it then seems like you're just reserved for BMW's..
I was gonna get the m240i for next car but insurance has just gone up stupid now 2500 then just got a quote on tts for 1300 pretty much same as what i got now for current car plus tts a bit quicker to 60 and i dont tune my cars anyway as they break anyway not being tuned so cant be arsed taking it to garage even more
Audis know how to make quality cars
the red blinker above door handle?
Awesome! really interesting review. My shortlist came down to this and an m140i a couple of months ago. Ended up with the rwd manual bm ; ), but no doubt would have loved one of these.
My predicament right now!
@@nme444 Did you decide?
@@alancarew4841 Still procrastinating as got a 220d and the thought of another 150bhp on that almost same floaty platform seems scary (maybe just me!) Adding a 7.5 Golf GTI performance back into the mix to mull over.
@@nme444 I hear that mate, but ive only heard good things about the 240 i, my son had a 140i and the engine was tremendous. You will have bags of fun. I had a Peugeot 308 gti, poor cousin to the Golf that is better IMO, and quicker
@@alancarew4841 240 is more focussed than 140 and also has that rear underbody brace as standard(think only the 3 door 140 has that) Think all 2 series have it...even my 220d does! That B58 is a masterclass though and hard to ignore!
Good vid, what kind of camera did you use for the internal recording?
Go pro hero 11
Would like to know if I buy one with 80k mileage . How long should I expect before I have any spareparts change … engine , transmission , suspension etc etc . Around what mileage is the problems coming around ? Any idea plz thx
Just seeing your stage 1 Golf R video, do you think the TTS would equally benefit from stage 1 + TCU, or it does not need it for street/b road driving?
Absolutely. The TTS handles better than the golf so it’s a bit more exciting stock but with a stage 1 map it’d be amazing.
I’ve owned my December 2016 TTs for 2 years end of next month..
Performance wise it’s very good ( brilliant ) but if you like your goodies like I had in all the Merc’s that I had in the past, you need to get ready for a long search..
Audi have different package system when bought new & to find a used with everything is like finding hens teeth..
After phoning many garage’s & dealerships around the country I managed to buy one which was the right colour ( Sepang blue ) with 29k miles but no B&O or folding doors mirrors, no cameras & only rear sensors, no front sensors,I had these fitted later by VAG Retrofit guy £800 ..
Has electric heated seats with minimal lumbar support not really worth having tbh.
It also came with cruise & sat nav ( a must ) lane assist..& the usual standard stuff that Audi does give in its standard package, including a single CD player.
It was only after owning it for a few months I started to miss my creature comforts.
But I also found out after the petrol price increases that on long motorway journeys & trying to keep to speed limits it returned 40.9 mpg in comfort mode ..
But all that goes out the window as soon as I stamp my foot on the floor the beast is woken my thoughts of no digital climate & all the other stuff seems irrelevant !!😈😈
What didn’t it have? I just found one. It comes with the digital climate control and camera. I assume lane assist too
@@johnraviella6561 B&O sounds, wireless iPhone charger, Folding mirrors, digital climate control, matrix lighting, seatbelt feeders, not that I’d use it but park assist & self parking..
I got lane assist but don’t use it..
I had most of these as standard on previous Mercedes E350 C207 ..
But like I say it doesn’t really matter much lol
That's not a bad price t all for the retro fit stuff, who did it for you? i could do with the reverse cam on mine
Looking for advice. Looking for a “weekend/fun car”. Already have a work vehicle and an SUV for the family. Am deciding between a 2023 S3 or a 2019 TTS. I have a 5 year old and an 11 year old. They were fine in the back of my BRZ for short trips(only kind we would try). Am I giving up a lot of style and thrill by going with a sedan? Or should I just go for more room and practicality?
There are many 4 door sports cars out there, BMW 330i xdrive, BMW 340i M, BMW 430i for a 2 door, etc
Loved your review. I’m currently looking at a TTS and a 981 Cayman (base). What are your thoughts?
If you need a lot of boot space then get the TTS, if not get the Cayman. The Porsche is much more of a proper sports car.
Thanks. This is where my mind was leading me.
@@rajdindayal5459 The TTS is quicker and cheaper though. Which one did you choose?
Cayman
@@rajdindayal5459 Happy? Lets meet for a tear up, lmao
Hi, what would you recommend for a second car for a 20 y/o? for context i’m looking at things price wise around the merc a200 sort of area. Thanks!
The A200 is good if you want something cheap to run. The Audi A3 is also very nice but can be more to insure depending on which engine you go for.
@@ParagonCarsLondon awesome, thankyou for your advice!
I spent 40k cash on my mk3 , best money I ever spent
Could have got a TTRS for that kind of money mate
@@alancarew4841where? Lol… you’re dreaming bruv
@@Every14days826You can pick up a good ttrs mk3 for around 30k with low mileage mate
@@Every14days826 Nope, it wouldn't be brand new but you can find loads for 30k
When is interval for belt changing, big service?
There's no belt on these, it's a timing chain. Major services are usually every 20k-30k miles.
Had a play with one of these in my M140i, it rinsed me easily 😂
How
@@derekporter66 better handling... quattro...lighter 🤷♂️
@@roblanger5546 I've had both. Well an m240i. Once rolling the TT gets left behind . Stage 2 mrc tts. And stage 2 mg flasher
@@derekporter66 in a straight line yes. Not on a twisty road in damp conditions. Plus the m240i handles better than the 140i...
@@roblanger5546 ah yea. I left an M4 comp on the TT on Twisties. I don't want rwd anymore. To me spinning up isn't fun
Visibility out of the side is the best of any car I've ever driven
I crashed my car a month ago and it's almost fixed and in this time I watch all TTS videos so I can kill my appetite :((
Would you rather this or a golf r ?, what car do you reckon would be more reliable too ?
They’d be identical in terms of reliability but i’d choose the Golf r as it’s just a bit more practical. If practicality didn’t matter though i’d go for the TT as it’s a bit more engaging.
@@ParagonCarsLondon It’s just me and my daughter, would a small car seat fit in the back ?
This is an honest question, but what makes them so expensive considering the engine?
Name. Badge
Quality….Everything
5:16 Late 2014 actually
I really like your videos im not leaving hate its just that you putting it in reverse while still driving triggers me I think thats one of the reason gearboxes fail as some people do that all the time
depends on the box, the dsg in this can be shifted into reverse as long as you're below 5mph safely. Don't think even i'd want to do it at that speed though haha.
The TT was always ahead of her time
3:11 the rear seats are, well...in reality it's a 2.5 seat car😂
