Owned my Mk3 TTRS for 5 years now. 3 years longer than any of the Porsche, AMG or Aston I had previously. It fits so many roles that I can’t find any 1 car to replace it.
Only thing I genuinely hate about the tt rs is the fact the rear seat does not match the front. Its bugged me since I had a mk3 tts back in 2016. They throw the standard rear bench in all of them. Completely different stitching to the front!😂 Yet NO ONE ever talks about it.
Got me a TT RS in late 2017, still no OPF but the better front brakes. I still love this car and do not see me selling at at any point in the future. I do visit the italian alps once a year and this car is a blast driving the mountain passes with engagement. It will get old with me. And having a Golf R as my every day drive the RS still is in a almost new condition, only 27.000 kms on the clock. Best buy I ever made in cars.
I've had a 2020 Mk 3 TTRS for nearly 18 months and hands down, the best drivers car I've owned above the M cars and AMGs. Exceptional performance and handling, with great looks and reliability. Currently up for sale with F12 Perfomance in Leeds if anyone interested.
I have a TTRS, TTS (both MK3's), and a 718 Cayman. In total I've had 4 TT's. You are correct in your assumption that the Porsche is an overall better driving experience. By most accounts, my TTRS is far and away a better car in terms of tech, interior, HP, room, Quattro, etc. However, more often than not, I'll grab the 718's key fob.
Would never dismiss the TTRS or its close relative RS3..both great cars and last of their generations. If you drive them you are fully aware of their capabilities. Unfortunately I think they get stereotyped with the demographic who drive them especially as they get passed down the food chain . Personally prefer the chassis dynamics of the 4.0GTS that I now drive at weekend. Both fabulous engines though and to be celebrated as long as possible
@@phildarbyshire1496 I believe that Cayman drivers fall to the same stereotype; "Poor-man's 911". Now, having said that, the moniker is usually awarded by people who neither own a 911, nor a Cayman.
@@CRA677 Yes that was always the perception not helped by Clarkson vs Hammond on top gear. Having driven both 992 and 718 and fortunately able to afford either made my choice based based entirely on driving dynamics. Last gen M2 comp was only other consideration..ok maybe Arial Atom as only weekend toy.
Loved my Mk2 TTRS the car I regret selling the most. A few subtle suspension mods and a remap and it was an absolute weapon. One day I’ll have another !
Had one of the very first TT Mark I coupes for twenty years and 250,000 miles. I loved that car but sadly its time had come to replace it. Struggled with getting a Cayman, but the lack of cargo space and need for a winter driver turned me back to another TT. This time I got a 2013 TTRS. ( The other years were all automatics and I just couldn’t live with that.). So the TTRS I have is a screamer. I love it also. It’s fast and cool and expensive to repair, but I’m a happy guy with it. Still, the old TT Mark I was something very special in my life. Peter
Huge fan but sadly never owned one. Loved it from the day it came out and agree the interior has always been rather cool, especially the mk1. It’s such a shame that it’s been killed off but surely never forgotten and will be one to watch as a collectors 😍
I'm not far away from celebrating my 6th year with my TT mk3 & I adore it just as much as I did when I first drove it out of the forecourt! My dad always watches your channel and he's text me to tell me about this video. A stunning car that holds a special place in my heart!
My daughter has just bought a MK3 TT S-Line TDi Ultra and its a cracking little car (ok, no RS like my RS3) but great all the same. I struggle to understand where the extra £30k has gone towards in the Iconic Edition when it is purely cosmetic. I could just about understand if it was 10k but 30k????? I would have expected more power, carbon buckets, trick suspension etc etc.
I owned the original audi tt 225 covert just like you , Just recently bought a MK3 , For the money cant beat it , Lovely looking , Not a bad car not better than a boxster.
I had a2003 MK1 bought with 14,000 miles for $26,000. Had it 12.5 years it certified extended warranty and a world of performance difference having remapped immediately after purchase. Loved that car.
A lovely looking car with a fantastic interior that shows how it should be instead of all these stupid touchscreens. Fabulous video Ped and congratulations on having achieved your 200k subscribers you’ll be at 500k before long😄
Fabulous review Pedro, I was pinned to the screen for the duration. I’ve never had one and almost certainly never will, but this is my dream car and that sound. Thanks for a fabulous, effortless roll off the tongue review.
Got the original Mk1 ( no wing/ smooth boot). 180HP Quattro, 5 Spd manual in Amulet Red in 2000. Great all season car (in winter equipped with appropriate tires). Great unique exterior shape & stance and classic interior as you mention. Replaced after 7 yrs with 07 base Boxster 5Spd & following its lease end got a new 09 base Boxster at years end at a good price that had some appealing engine characteristics (2.9L/no IMS), larger wheels, 6 Spd, and now at 130000 kms, is a keeper. If I had the space at the time, that Mk 1 TT may still have been here. But as someone else commented here, I may have still reached for the Boxster for the fun drives-and maintaining any 23 yr old car especially if one isn't using it regularly can be an adventure.
Love a ttrs and own one in Vegas yallow hardly drive it, but when I do love it 😀 kinda a glad they have stopped, so I don't have to get a newer version 😅
I've owned an Audi TT RS MK3 for almost six years in the best RS colour Nardo Grey. It just simply ticks all the boxes , for reliability out right pace and practicality. And above all listening to that sonorous 5Cyl 2.5litre engine engine every time. Nothing compares IMHO Awesome 👊🏽
I always find it funny when people compare the Boxster and TT as an owner of both they're not even close to the same product. I get it the Boxster is amazing its delecate and an amazing drivers car. But if you had a derestricted piece of B road that was 5 miles long in typical British conditions (wet and windy) the TT-RS would arrive to its destination minutes earlier not seconds. On track the Boxster is marginally quicker.😮
On my 2nd TT. Had a MK2 Black Edition TDI for 3 years, brilliant car, always reliable and 50+ MPG. Changed it last year for MK3 TDI Ultra, which is much better equipped and more fun to drive as not Quattro. Going to be missed by many, but there are plenty around 2nd hand which will keep us happy!!
Great film again Peter. I was managing an Audi dealership when the mK1 was launched and I remember the hype around it and it was the easiest car to sell (just taking orders really). Now as I’m retired, my car of choice is a Mk 3 2.0 S line quattro with a Revo Stage 1 map. My wife always joked that cut me in half and there would be four rings running through me! 🤣👍 Have a great weekend.
48 years old always loved cars ICE had SubaruSTi’s , 5 GT Turbos, escort mark 2 mexicos , I am 😢the way the car world is going that 5 pot will soon be gone . For me noise and emotion is everything. I can’t see my self driving silence but hey ho . Thanks for the video
Well what a sad day when I heard that the TT will be no more . My Audi journey started with an A4 convertible I had two then I had set my sites on the A5 when they stopped making the A4 but I drove it and hated it then couldn’t decide what Audi to buy so the sales man suggested a TT I was hooked as soon as I drove it , I had a Quattro first and now I have an ultra TDI which I have had for a number of years 65 plate with only 25 thousand miles no problems with any of them but as they are disappearing fast I want to change up for a TTS , I think the RS would be way too much for me , money wise as well as power wise . It’s a lovely car but I could not justify spending £78 ,000 on a car , even though it would probably be worth more in a few years . Just like to say it was a brilliant video and I so enjoyed your details of the RS which looks absolutely amazing, thanks for such a great video on such an iconic car .
We had a TT roadster and it was amazing not very practical but my wife ran it until it had 60k on the clock. At 5 years old we had a problem with the 4 wheel drive and was given a large bill before the work was started so I pointed out the then sales of goods act so they agreed to do it under warranty. Right now my next door neighbour has it he also has my Jaguar which had its 12 birthday this January. I asked my wife is she would like the TT back or a new one and she said no she loves her Seat Leon. Cars have there time don’t they. We tow a caravan and I never thought I would end up with a Mazda CX60 PHEV but wow love that and ideal for us but it’s not a Jag and yes on our first weekend away I forgot my wallet so Diane had to pay. 17 years married now so something must of worked. Stay well James
Owned a MK1 and 2 MK3’s Always loved the design and found them surprising practical, it’s easy to drive quickly and also to just enjoy at lower speeds. Would have loved an electrified one, maybe in time it will turn up
Loved my Mk3 Quattro - was sad to give it up after 4yrs 😟 Drove it down to Motril, Marbella, Seville & then Lisbon on the return - several times! Never missed a beat & no rattles! Will probably look for another as a weekend car - when I retire.....
Hi Pete, just sold my Mark 3RS after three happy years you’re absolutely right and everything you said and all of your viewers should consider buying one new or secondhand absolute bargain. The iconic is just an Audi rip off. You can’t use the dynamic suspension in the uk. I now have a M3 competition and it cannot live with what I used to be able to do in the TT Foot to the floor virtually anywhere and sucked you round the corner
I have the MK2 TTS with a stage 1 map. 315hp and it's such a lovely machine. I would love and aspire to own the mk3 TTRS. Lovely car. Great review. Every bit a sports car in my humble opinion. Cheers.
I’ve had ten MK3 TT’s. Currently in a TTS Final Edition. Beautiful cars and really sad to see it go. I think I will look for an RS now (the only one I’ve never owned) and I shall keep it! Amazing review of the iconic edition! Thank you!
Audi have obviously decided to kill off the ICE, I just tried to buy a new S3 I have a white one and configured one in red the only colour I liked after an hour discussing the spec and cost they they tell me red is discontinued, I gave up, I’ve also discovered you can’t get the RS3 in a hatchback, Audi just dont care, I cannot bring myself to go EV 🥲
Audi is in the business of making posh luxury cars and EVs lend themselves perfect to this category. I'm sure once the battery tech is good enough, they will try to get back to making some sort of a sports(-ish) car but, for now, the numbers probably don't add up enough to justify development and production lines and thus, they decided to kill the R8 and the tt. They don't do rallies so a homologation special a-la gr yaris cannot happen, they don't do gt3 so, a car a-la gt3(/rs) cannot and happened and their name isn't ferrari so, a 300+k coupe with audi badge will not sell(will have limited sales, to be more correct); although, coupes are making a comeback, which actually brings joy to my heart, most of the ppl would rather pay 70-80k on a ioniq 5N than on a TT. That's why I believe Audi just decided to sit tightly and wait for better EV tech and better market opportunities in order to launch future cars in the likes of tt and r8. p. s. personal opinion, the best R8 was also the first R8. V8, light-ish, 8000 rpm, gated manual, looked like something out of this planet and droved like a sports car made by Audi.
@@eugenux well that was long winded 😂 EV’s are still crap and I just think how can someone get excited over a battery with four wheels, saving the planet will kill the car enthusiast
@@coops111s with the exception of the fact that they don't actually save anything, especially not the planet. The way EVs are used and produced actually contribute to a worsening pollution and damaging the envrionment but, hey, if it doesn't happen next to our door, we, as a western society, are ok with it. Also, the ones I have tried drive like shi.te, from an enthusiast pov.
@@coops111s That's crap, would love an S3 but my budget only stretches to the Puma ST (although I currently have a Fiesta ST and would rather have one of those!) but I found out Ford is trying to kill that off too as interest rate on the regular Puma is 1.9% and it's 7.9% now on ALL STs apparently!
I took ownership of the Mk3 TT RS Vorsprung last year and love it. I get a smile on my face every time I start her up. Still to try the launch control though!!!! Great video, the iconic edition looks sweet but with you on the fact it’s a lot of money to shell out for the body work!
Gotta have a go at LC. My tips Individual Mode with everything Dynamic apart from suspension which I’d put in comfort to allow a bit of squat. Traction Fully Off. just push and hold down button for 3-5 secs. Don’t worry about losing traction. It’s got plenty of it. Leave gearbox in Auto but in Sport. Left foot hard down on the brake. Right foot to the floor. Hold it for a second or two to enjoy the noise. Left foot of the brake. Hold on and enjoy 😂
I remember the MK1 coming out in Germany when i was in the army. It was so far ahead of its time and I wanted one badly! Although I did see one in Belgium fly past me in 99 in horrible rain, not long later I saw it on its roof with the police there. To this day I just hoped the people in it were okay.
4:23 it was the TT that had the 5 cylinder engine first, and it was a manual transmission too, only later was the transmission changed to DCT, and at that time the A3 was also given the engine in the RS3, meaning the TT RS Mk2 is the only car you can get the 5 cylinder in manual transmission.
Well said once again Pete. I've had 2 mk2 tts, 1 mk3 tts, and now mk3 ttrs roadster, yes in nardo grey with black badging and I absolutely love it. Yes it doesn't make the noise of the 17 plate one because as you said, all the filters etc. I've had and still getting.... It's a hairdressers car, but I don't care. 400hp Quattro what's not to like. Totally agree with you're comment on the iconic it's too much money. I'm going to keep mine and hopefully watch it increase in value, but in the mean time those B roads await. Again brilliant video
I owned a MKII TTS & loved it. I was keen to get a TTRS but when a I went to order it. It wasn’t possible. So I bought a F80 M4 Competition. I now own a B9.5 RS4. If there was a new TTRS Vorsprung in white in a dealer when I walked in. Maybe my heart would rule & I’d buy it. Like you I wish I’d owned one & the opportunity to do this will be gone soon. I dare say I should take my time to savour & love what will likely be the last RS4 to.
Still miss my mk3 ttrs.. as a daily its the best car I've owned, very fast, reasonable cost to run and looks special.. got an r8 v10 plus now but regret selling the tt...
The mk3 tt is a fantastic all round package for every day use, great content keep it up enjoyed the road trip to Cornwall in the tt and mrs led in the S4 and the Porsche 992 cabriolet to fox hill and the gt40 trip and Ferrari trip to Devon near the exe,I’ve always been a fan of Porsche having owned a few ,sell ruby sell the 718 gts and get yourself a 992 4s cabriolet so you can take the pups every time you want and have the surefoot of all year round use, only live once and do some euro trips and record them for us,keep it up 👍
Love mine! 2019 Turbo Blue. Bought with 5260 miles still on the extended warranty ti August 2025. At the Kingman Arizona Street drags here in Kingman Arizona at 3200' elevation on the. 220 yard drag strip it did 99mph with the cold air intake then after installing 4" turbo intake a year later without retuning for the larger turbo inlet it did 103.2mph in slightly over 7 seconds but I can't jeopardize warranty so the larger intake negatively effected launch. In August I will have ECU reprogrammed and have it properly tuned and hope 106mph & 7seconds flat for the 220yards at this elevation.
That comment about the alloys and potential damage is very true. I have diamond cut alloys and they have got a lot of kerb and general wear. My local refurbishment place advises have painted alloys as they cannot guarantee longevity on diamond cut. My mark 3 TT Roadster is Ok but not anywhere near as good as my previous Boxster in terms of handling
Previous owner of a Mk2 TT. Genuinely miss that thing, but sold it and I am now looking at a 718 Boxster S/GTS. Having driven both, I agree that the 718 is more fun to drive, but my god the TT line is EASILY the most practical sports car you can buy. I can't tell you how many times I moved in mine, fitting in a full size mattress and computer gadgets. Amazing car for more casual sports car owners and I'm so sad to see them go.
My biggest regret after 3 years or ownership, was part exchanging my 2018 TTRS sans particulate filter and big on that fabulous exhaust sound. It was easy to give it plenty of welly but soon risked exceeding the speed limit. I like the TT so much I now have an entry level SLine which is still a nice car. Pete - as you are a rag top man, why not review the BMW Z4 G29 M40i?
I bought a MK3 2.0 Quattro, which was a massive mistake in hindsight. Spectacular interior but so bland to drive (the overly light, numb steering in particular). Cashed it in for a GT86 which is in a totally different universe dynamically, even if it’s significantly slower.
Was not a fan of the Mark 1, but the later TT models grew on me. Sadly it is one of the cars that I considered a couple of times over the years but it lost out to something else both times. Neither car that I ended up buying was a direct competitor, but they worked for me at the time, and by the time I buy my next car the TT will be history.
I had an 8S from 2016-2020 with a 1.8 petrol engine and I really liked the car. The smaller engine, which was only available until I think 2020 or so, was perfect for usage as a daily. Driving with this through the Swiss Alps or to the beach in Netherland - performance ok because of it's weight compared to bigger cars and the space in the back for all the luggage...perfect for two person. Because of its size the handling through the curvy mountain roads was perfect. I had it as a manual and also with the smaller engine it provided a lot of fun on those roads - the only downside was that the 2 liter engines had a little bit more sound. The interior was and still is from my point of view the best ever. Design and functionality combined perfectly. How the AC is integrated and the digital screen only behind the wheel without any other second screen "misplaced" somewhere else. Only disappointment were the prices for each and every little extra.
It looks absolutely wonderful and sounds brilliant. Love the outside design and the interior design beautiful. I really like the RS3 saloon and really love the TT. Keep up the fantastic work really enjoyed the videos and massive congratulations on 200,000 subscribers.
Loved my mk2 TTRS Pete.... owned it for 8 years & it never put a foot wrong (most reliable car I've had) & far more practicle than you'd ever inagine I did consider a mk3 when finally changing but for the money I was spending decided that I wanted something with a bigger difference.... I started looking at Cayman's but the 2 seat issue kept me away, I then thought maybe an M2 but in the end got an M3. It's a sad day yet again, 2 Audi icons gone & I too have said why not electrify it as the mk4 version. I did hear that there is a new 2 seater etron coming which will be badged ettron as a nod to the TT but not sure if that is true. Nice send of review though 👍🏻
Had my mk3 ttrs stage 2 for 5 years it’s been brilliant only trouble is what to replace it with, great video I’m of the same view that 30k extra for this model is too much
We've had our 2010 TT RS for nearly 9 years now, Suzuka grey, stage 1 map...... Ticks all the boxes..... looked at other cars but couldn't find anything to replace it with.....
What a lovely car! I'd totally forgotten about Audi finding it necessary to add a ducktail spoiler to the 1st-gen TT. That was an example of aerodynamics as a safety first! I've always preferred the shape of the coupé; the sweep of the roof structure was part of the theatre of the design. Sad to see these leave the new car market. That'll mean the existing ones will be the ones to treasure and cherish. It was also nice to see that ice all over the top of your example. A pleasant reminder of days of owning a car in cold climes. Aloha!
Absolutely adore/d the TT . Stunning looks that simply made the competition squirm with jealousy. Same gped for the R8 .....one thing is for sure though , nobody ,and I mean nobody ,will be making videos like yours celebtating electric cars 25 yrs down the line 🤔 Thank you for this.
Awesome car looks like it’s just come out not going to the bin.. such a shame as there ain’t really many cars in the road like it specially with the five pot.. and congrats to 200k Pete the Chanel is going from strength to strength love yours and Joe channel and podcast.. keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I had 2 TTS coupes, an RSQ3 and RS4 and loved the video and agree the Iconic is lovely but is for collectors. It is such a shame the TT brand is being scrapped because the the coupe was a great practical car and if an electric one came to market in the same shell in future I would buy it
Like you, I've nearly bought the TTRS a couple of times. The wing is personally too much for me, but it's a real shame to see such a style icon disappear.
I had a TTS Quattro and never really got a thrills from it. I had a RS Megane 265 before it which was just so much better to drive. It looked good but I never regretted selling the TT - but should have kept the Megane !
Peter….I was at the launch of the original car with my friend Adam….the Audi looked a mix of the future with hints of 1930’s Bauhaus and was certainly a car that people talked about a great deal. Maybe Audi was in a very good patch as the A2 arrived around the same time. Now Audi is very safe and I can’t believe they still sell the Q5 which looks decades old. Your old pictures are special…so are your memories. I think you should buy a good one again but this car is too expensive although rare. You need to keep your good memories alive! 🙂🙂🙂🙂Richard
Great video as always PP! that's why you have reached 200,000 subscribers this week, a very big Congratulations on getting to that Target, a great way to start the New Year Off. I always love when one of your videos drops on RUclips. Keep them coming. Drive Safe! 👍🙂👍
I really liked the TTRS convertible even considered one before buying my Z4 m40i. Loved its performance in all weather but not its interior, in such a flash out there car why no colour options for interior leather BMW does, also no HUD BMW has. Arguably these are small things but for me deal breakers. The TTRS isn't a cheap car I'd like it to be as near to my ideal spec as possible for the money
I can recall when they were launched. They seemed like a beautiful concept car that had been brought to life. They stood out on the motorway. They were in a niche of their own. Audi seemed a bit braver then and launched cars like the A2 which was ahead of its time and not really appreciated at the time. I used to joke about grey cars - but have just ordered a new grey one from Audi locally lol. 😃
I had a manual TTS mk2. I bought a 8 yr old 2008 example with 40k miles. It cost me £12.5k. In terms of bang for buck it was pretty much the best car I could find. Very reliable and useable. But for the price of a TT RS mk3 today I'm not sure I wouldn't pick other cars. Like a reasonably new R8, or a F type SVR, or a decent Porsche.
Yep, no pithy comebacks, that’s a lovely motor. Hails from a time when Audi made somewhat more classy cars. At the point you were agonising over TTs in the early noughties, I was hooning around in A8s. Lovely old motors both.
Had 2 TT's - a TTS, then a TTRS (most recent models). Genuinely an everyday driver, loved the TTRS it was just a solid motorway mile-muncher yet just before reaching home I'd turn off onto a B road and just enjoy the drive and grip. Sadly replaced :(
Great looking TT, love the colour combo, I had 2 Mk1’s one with 280bhp which was a little lairy, sister has had numerous Mk3’s through her work and loves them, will be a shame to see it go, and I can’t believe you didn’t give a shout out to the 2 Citroen 2cv’s you passed! 😂
Such a real loss to see the lovely TT go. Always feel like I've missed out by not fulfilling my big want for a manual mk3 TTS coupe, but I've bagged my forever cars now so too late for that car sadly 😢
Upgraded from a tts late last year . Absolutely love my RS Even tho i had a v6 A4 avant . I would still drive the tts down to Cornwall ( near mevagissey ;0) Also just bought a s4 avant diesel . So its going to be a close call which one to dri e down in may
Beautiful car ….. I have the Mk3 45 Quattro and just love it. Space in the back with the ‘seats’ down is fantastic and the drive is great. I know it’s not a Porsche but neither was the price and for what I paid for it, it is a lot of fun ! Would love the RS or even the TTS.
I had a MK1 225 TT roughly 10 yrs ago. The performance was ok but its chassis was well past its prime. I changed the dampers but it still felt pretty sloppy. Then the dash started playing up, fuel gauge stopped working so overall not the best ownership experience. I'd owned a MK4 Golf GTI (terrible car, nice seats!) and it largely felt like that to drive. However, Mk3 RS's are now very tempting. £30k for an early one with around 40k miles. A bargain in comparison to this Iconic Edition.
Hi Ped Sad to say goodbye to the TT, although the price for this final edition crazy. When this was introduced I think Audi was brave with the design although not welcomed by the majority. As an Audi man over many years never purchased one, as it did not meet my requirements at the time, but my dealer was generous in loaning me this model on numerous occasions and I did like them. Not wishing to bring politics into the channel, but I do find our headlong rush towards Net Zero is the main reason so many desirable cars are disappearing so soon. The irony is that governments now seem to be waivering and realising the real price to be paid now and going forward. Today we are sacrificing our steel making industry, Port Talbot😥😥😥
I've had a '20 TTS from new and it has been a brilliant, plus being practical and economical too it is a great all rounder. The 30 Profile PZero's don't last long though! However the run out models were around £57K and that was simply too much. As I specced it without the fixed wing, I could be tempted to buy a used TTRS if I ever found one without it but I've only ever seen one in my life. A P300 F-Type keeps calling me, but is it any better than what I already have?
I had the tt mk1 manual great car 🚙 now I have a mk2 tt manual it’s better in a few ways but have never driven the 3rd generation yet it’s sad it’s over and the ttrs is better then some exotics out there 😊
Brilliant review Pete! As I’ve already said, such a pity saying goodbye to the gorgeous TT. Have driven one, second generation. I absolutely love the interior with those beautiful air vents, and every control just where it should be. Not to mention the sound the 5-pot makes. Funny you mention an issue with a rubber oil seal. Had the same problem, although less damaging, on a Passat Estate 1.8T back then. Anyway, bye bye TT😢😢😢 Cheers, Tom
Great classic car. I didn’t like the design when it first came out but I think the later ones are brilliant. I bought one in 2020 and sold it in 2022 as I moved abroad. ( cars here in NL are stupidly expensive so I can’t afford one ). I now have a hybrid EV which has confirmed my suspicions that EVs are a vanity project and will end the same as high speed rail.
Owned my Mk3 TTRS for 5 years now. 3 years longer than any of the Porsche, AMG or Aston I had previously. It fits so many roles that I can’t find any 1 car to replace it.
Nice 👌
Only thing I genuinely hate about the tt rs is the fact the rear seat does not match the front. Its bugged me since I had a mk3 tts back in 2016. They throw the standard rear bench in all of them. Completely different stitching to the front!😂

I'll never sell mine. I have a 2000 Toyota MR2Spyder I drive to keep TTRS down 5000-6000 miles per year

Very nice!
Peter
Love this 👌
Love my TTRS , really not sure what to replace it with?
Maybe just keep it, great video!
Good choice!
Mk3 TTS owner here, love the cabin and the get up and go. A few very annoying rattles on mine!
Hate those 😢
I have the TTRS Sport version in black and love it
Nice 👌
Huge fan but sadly never owned one. Loved it from the day it came out and agree the interior has always been rather cool, especially the mk1. It’s such a shame that it’s been killed off but surely never forgotten and will be one to watch as a collectors 😍
Indeed 👍
I'm not far away from celebrating my 6th year with my TT mk3 & I adore it just as much as I did when I first drove it out of the forecourt! My dad always watches your channel and he's text me to tell me about this video. A stunning car that holds a special place in my heart!
That is awesome!
Me too 🤔
I owned the original audi tt 225 covert just like you , Just recently bought a MK3 , For the money cant beat it , Lovely looking , Not a bad car not better than a boxster.
Fabulous video Ped and congratulations on having achieved your 200k subscribers you’ll be at 500k before long😄
Thank you 🙏🏻
Ive always admired the TTRS
Fabulous review Pedro, I was pinned to the screen for the duration. I’ve never had one and almost certainly never will, but this is my dream car and that sound. Thanks for a fabulous, effortless roll off the tongue review.
Thanks for watching mate 👍
Nice 👌
It’s the one car I missed out on buying and I agree Audi has got rid of the 2 nicest cars in their line up.
Love a ttrs and own one in Vegas yallow hardly drive it, but when I do love it 😀 kinda a glad they have stopped, so I don't have to get a newer version 😅
Good point 👍
Hanging on to my Mk2 3.2 dsg. Love the design , the smooth linear power and it has enough grip and acceleration to make B roads great fun 😊
Couldn't agree more!
Nice 👌
I always find it funny when people compare the Boxster and TT as an owner of both they're not even close to the same product.
I get it the Boxster is amazing its delecate and an amazing drivers car.
But if you had a derestricted piece of B road that was 5 miles long in typical British conditions (wet and windy) the TT-RS would arrive to its destination minutes earlier not seconds.
On track the Boxster is marginally quicker.😮
Yep 👍
Had two Mark 1 TTs. A Silver 180 and a Red 225. Loved them both!
Nice 👌
I’ve always said the tt rs is a mini R8. What a beautiful car in that colour
Yep 👍
On my 2nd TT. Had a MK2 Black Edition TDI for 3 years, brilliant car, always reliable and 50+ MPG. Changed it last year for MK3 TDI Ultra, which is much better equipped and more fun to drive as not Quattro. Going to be missed by many, but there are plenty around 2nd hand which will keep us happy!!
Nice 👌
Just wow. I owne a TT MK3 1.8 TSI and wow what a amazing car is that. I love to owne a TTRS. But that's the dream.
Have a great weekend.
Love that 😜😂
Owned 2. One diesel version which was great for fuel efficiency but then changed to TTS. What a car it was best car I’ve owned sad to let it go.
Yep 👍
48 years old always loved cars ICE had SubaruSTi’s , 5 GT Turbos, escort mark 2 mexicos , I am
😢the way the car world is going that 5 pot will soon be gone .
Stay well
James
Owned a MK1 and 2 MK3’s
Always loved the design and found them surprising practical, it’s easy to drive quickly and also to just enjoy at lower speeds.
Would have loved an electrified one, maybe in time it will turn up
Thanks for sharing!
👍
Cool photos of you back in the day 😎 Great final edition of the TT//RS
Back when I was young 😂
@@PetrolPed We're all still young really 😂
I have the MK2 TTS with a stage 1 map. 315hp and it's such a lovely machine. I would love and aspire to own the mk3 TTRS. Lovely car. Great review. Every bit a sports car in my humble opinion. Cheers.
A car I have always wanted but never quite got there.
What a machine !!!
Indeed 👍
I’ve had ten MK3 TT’s. Currently in a TTS Final Edition. Beautiful cars and really sad to see it go. I think I will look for an RS now (the only one I’ve never owned) and I shall keep it! Amazing review of the iconic edition! Thank you!
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great content Sir. Hope you are keeping well. The invite for some Historic Trialling remains open…
My tips
Individual Mode with everything Dynamic apart from suspension which I’d put in comfort to allow a bit of squat.
CongratulaTTions on 200k subscribers! 👌🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Well said once again Pete.
Awesome 🙌
I owned a MKII TTS & loved it. I was keen to get a TTRS but when a I went to order it. It wasn’t possible. So I bought a F80 M4 Competition. I now own a B9.5 RS4. If there was a new TTRS Vorsprung in white in a dealer when I walked in. Maybe my heart would rule & I’d buy it. Like you I wish I’d owned one & the opportunity to do this will be gone soon. I dare say I should take my time to savour & love what will likely be the last RS4 to.
RS4 👌 🔥
Still miss my mk3 ttrs.. as a daily its the best car I've owned, very fast, reasonable cost to run and looks special.. got an r8 v10 plus now but regret selling the tt...
Loved the TT from the day it was presented all these years ago. Still dream of owning a Mark 3 TTS or TTRS.
Thanks for the video love the tt I've got a mk3 black edition and I love it makes you want to drive...... instead of just a a to b car....
The mk3 tt is a fantastic all round package for every day use, great content keep it up enjoyed the road trip to Cornwall in the tt and mrs led in the S4 and the Porsche 992 cabriolet to fox hill and the gt40 trip and Ferrari trip to Devon near the exe,I’ve always been a fan of Porsche having owned a few ,sell ruby sell the 718 gts and get yourself a 992 4s cabriolet so you can take the pups every time you want and have the surefoot of all year round use, only live once and do some euro trips and record them for us,keep it up 👍
An iconic video for an iconic car. Thanks Pete & have a good weekend
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nice 👌
Had 2 TT's A mK1 & a MK2 diesel were great cars loved them both =)
Very nice!
That’s the issue with diamond cut 😢
I had a S3 back in 2003 I remember how popular the TT was back in the early 2000’s
They are a bit of a tardis 👍
Hey Pete, congratulations on reaching 200,000,,fingers crossed for another 100,000,
Thanks a million!
I had a manuel 3.2 Mk2 Quattro, it was very quick point-to-point.
Oh that was the one 👌👍
My biggest regret after 3 years or ownership, was part exchanging my 2018 TTRS sans particulate filter and big on that fabulous exhaust sound. It was easy to give it plenty of welly but soon risked exceeding the speed limit. I like the TT so much I now have an entry level SLine which is still a nice car.
Pete - as you are a rag top man, why not review the BMW Z4 G29 M40i?
I should really shouldn’t it. Never even driven one 😬
I bought a MK3 2.0 Quattro, which was a massive mistake in hindsight. Spectacular interior but so bland to drive (the overly light, numb steering in particular). Cashed it in for a GT86 which is in a totally different universe dynamically, even if it’s significantly slower.
You should try a GR86 👍
What a lovely bit of kit. You’re making me miss my MK3 TT! I had it in red with 19” alloys, h&k 30mm lowered suspension - which was harsh af haha.
Nice 👌
It looks absolutely wonderful and sounds brilliant. Love the outside design and the interior design beautiful. I really like the RS3 saloon and really love the TT. Keep up the fantastic work really enjoyed the videos and massive congratulations on 200,000 subscribers.
😂 no way does it sound or look brilliant. Sounds like a boy racer car and handles like a boat
Thank you very much mate 👍
Loved my mk2 TTRS Pete.... owned it for 8 years & it never put a foot wrong (most reliable car I've had) & far more practicle than you'd ever inagine
I did consider a mk3 when finally changing but for the money I was spending decided that I wanted something with a bigger difference....
Nice 👌
Had my mk3 ttrs stage 2 for 5 years it’s been brilliant only trouble is what to replace it with, great video I’m of the same view that 30k extra for this model is too much
Stage 2…wow 😮
Aloha!
It was a cold day for sure 😂
Absolutely adore/d the TT . Stunning looks that simply made the competition squirm with jealousy. Same gped for the R8 .....one thing is for sure though , nobody ,and I mean nobody ,will be making videos like yours celebtating electric cars 25 yrs down the line 🤔
Thank you for this.
Couldn't agree more!
Bought my mk3 TTS after watching your video years back and still have it, probably keep it for ever..
Amazing to hear 👍
Awesome car looks like it’s just come out not going to the bin.. such a shame as there ain’t really many cars in the road like it specially with the five pot.. and congrats to 200k Pete the Chanel is going from strength to strength love yours and Joe channel and podcast.. keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ah thanks mate 🙏🏻
I had 2 TTS coupes, an RSQ3 and RS4 and loved the video and agree the Iconic is lovely but is for collectors. It is such a shame the TT brand is being scrapped because the the coupe was a great practical car and if an electric one came to market in the same shell in future I would buy it
Totally agree 👍
Like you, I've nearly bought the TTRS a couple of times. The wing is personally too much for me, but it's a real shame to see such a style icon disappear.
Indeed 😢
Drive Safe! 👍🙂👍
Thank you very much!
NOw that is a car I would find hard to give back. That 5 cylinder engine has a great sound. Thanks Peter.
Indeed 👍
A relative of ours had the MK3 RS TT limited edition. What a machine it is
Oh yes 🙌
I really liked the TTRS convertible even considered one before buying my Z4 m40i.
Loved its performance in all weather but not its interior, in such a flash out there car why no colour options for interior leather BMW does, also no HUD BMW has.
Arguably these are small things but for me deal breakers.
The TTRS isn't a cheap car I'd like it to be as near to my ideal spec as possible for the money
👍
I can recall when they were launched. They seemed like a beautiful concept car that had been brought to life. They stood out on the motorway. They were in a niche of their own. Audi seemed a bit braver then and launched cars like the A2 which was ahead of its time and not really appreciated at the time. I used to joke about grey cars - but have just ordered a new grey one from Audi locally lol. 😃
Very true 👍
I had a manual TTS mk2. I bought a 8 yr old 2008 example with 40k miles. It cost me £12.5k. In terms of bang for buck it was pretty much the best car I could find. Very reliable and useable.
But for the price of a TT RS mk3 today I'm not sure I wouldn't pick other cars. Like a reasonably new R8, or a F type SVR, or a decent Porsche.
That is the challenge 👍
Owned a MK2 TTS great little car I loved it, only got rid of it for a Range Rover which I’d lusted after since I was 7.
Nice 👌
Found a red one 2020 RS would be perfect for my son. Love the interior and exterior design and the 5 cylinder engine
Good choice!
Sadly replaced :(
Thanks for sharing!
I love the TT , I’ve had 2 mk 1 coupe’s 180 and a 225, and 2 mk2 TTS coupe’s…Like you two of my favourite cars are going Audi R8 and TT .
😢
Great looking TT, love the colour combo, I had 2 Mk1’s one with 280bhp which was a little lairy, sister has had numerous Mk3’s through her work and loves them, will be a shame to see it go, and I can’t believe you didn’t give a shout out to the 2 Citroen 2cv’s you passed! 😂
Didn’t spot that 😬
I always enjoy your videos, keep them coming.
Peter Graham (Dublin)
Glad you like them! Will do 👍
Such a real loss to see the lovely TT go. Always feel like I've missed out by not fulfilling my big want for a manual mk3 TTS coupe, but I've bagged my forever cars now so too late for that car sadly 😢
You and me both!
Upgraded from a tts late last year . Absolutely love my RS
Even tho i had a v6 A4 avant . I would still drive the tts down to Cornwall ( near mevagissey ;0)
Also just bought a s4 avant diesel . So its going to be a close call which one to dri e down in may
Nice 👌
For me I could do without the rear wing and the front winglets .Colour perfect.Great motor.👍
Simple. Just get a normal TT RS and save yourself 30 grand 😜👍
Great cars 👍
I had a MK1 225 TT roughly 10 yrs ago. The performance was ok but its chassis was well past its prime.
I changed the dampers but it still felt pretty sloppy. Then the dash started playing up, fuel gauge stopped working so overall not the best ownership experience. I'd owned a MK4 Golf GTI (terrible car, nice seats!) and it largely felt like that to drive.
However, Mk3 RS's are now very tempting. £30k for an early one with around 40k miles. A bargain in comparison to this Iconic Edition.
A bargain indeed 👍
Another great video Pete keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks, will do!
Excellent vid and a fitting send off for the TT.Only ever drove one once but I did like it.
Thanks! 👍
Hi Ped
Sad to say goodbye to the TT, although the price for this final edition crazy.
I love the colour and black accents . Speedline wheels look awesome. But that spoiler looks hideous. Well done Peter on 200k 👏👏👍
I had the tt mk1 manual great car 🚙 now I have a mk2 tt manual it’s better in a few ways but have never driven the 3rd generation yet it’s sad it’s over and the ttrs is better then some exotics out there 😊
Nice 👍
Brilliant review Pete! As I’ve already said, such a pity saying goodbye to the gorgeous TT. Have driven one, second generation. I absolutely love the interior with those beautiful air vents, and every control just where it should be. Not to mention the sound the 5-pot makes. Funny you mention an issue with a rubber oil seal. Had the same problem, although less damaging, on a Passat Estate 1.8T back then.
Anyway, bye bye TT😢😢😢
Cheers, Tom
😢
Great classic car. I didn’t like the design when it first came out but I think the later ones are brilliant. I bought one in 2020 and sold it in 2022 as I moved abroad. ( cars here in NL are stupidly expensive so I can’t afford one ). I now have a hybrid EV which has confirmed my suspicions that EVs are a vanity project and will end the same as high speed rail.
Thanks for sharing
