Watched all your M140i videos one after this evening ha. Literally went and purchased one of these this morning 😊 picking up next saturday i cant bloody wait!
@@bls007 Enjoy! You’ll have a blast 😎
The M140i is a fantastic car.. i miss my one so much. I must get another one again.
Definitely need to ensure that the new owner understands that they havee to use the correct fuel, otherwise, it will go bang after some time.
absolutely
When remapped only use premium fuel? Is that correct thanks
I know hardly anyone bought manual M140’s. And most people think “oh why would you” because it has 8 ratios and speedy and smooth shifts. Therefore objectively, I understand the argument, especially if it’s a daily with lots of town driving. I also know the complaints about the manual ‘box not being that nice to use.
HOWEVER I feel like it gets written off so quickly and there’s almost no UK youtuber content of a Manual M140. And I know it sounds silly to moan about a minority not being catered to but some people would just rather have the manual for various reasons and it would be so good to see a direct comparison with the auto. And I absolutely love Tom’s reviews so I would love it if it came from him.
watch joe achilles m135i manual videos, he also compares it to the auto I think
I own a standard m140i with a 6 speed manual. Absolutely love it. Would be happy to demo it for comparison!
Great car. Thanks for rewiew!
I have an i4 40 which I thought was quick until an M140i destroyed me!
My stage 1 m140 tuned by Mike ball made it in 3.07 and now it’s stage 2 plus and it’s now down to. 2.68 . Mike ball from more Bhp is your man .
I am v close to going to Mike at morebhp for stage 1
It seems he's the man for these engines mine has double res delete and did a 3.63 30-70 4.46 0-60 and 12.54@111 mph 1/4 mile.
Not done a 100-200 as warm now and only had it 6 weeks.
What's your times with stage 1 ?
Cheers
If its not stage 3 its stage 2..
@@austincaley5007 100-200 on stage 1 was 8.33 . quarter mile 11.95 sec @121 mph . Stage 2 plus is down to 100-200 7.46 sec and quarter mile 11.66 sec @ 125 mph
@@richrollinson2388 Thanks for the reply great times stage 1 trapping @121 mph is huge jump from my stock 111mph.
8.3 is moving my stage 2 Cupra best was 8.90.
Nice man. How old are you? Thinking of getting an m140i but obviously, insurance is a massive hurdle at 21 but don’t think it’s possible. Not exactly minted, lol.
Please can you do a review on a mk5 golf GTI
Freaking amazing, doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be fun ! Makes me wonder, any idea what the previous owner upgraded to?
I was in market for an M140i, until i got quoted £3200 for insurance. In the end i bought 2015 M135i which is 90% the same car, almost half the price and insurance only £1200. 🤷♂️
Yes but engine is completely different! B58 is unique
@@francescosaia4475 in stock form both the N55 and B58 feel very similar. Both butter smooth and VERY torquey. B58 responds way better to tuning, but is that one thing alone worth almost triple the insurance. I can justify £100-200 difference but £2000? M4 insurance money for an M-lite. I can’t.
I have an M140i and I’m from the Netherlands. I pay 900 euro per year road tax. Plus 2340 euro insurance per year. You guys in the UK are so lucky with car costs but you don’t realize it. but you have potholes…😂. These M140i’s where starting at 60K euro.. imagine financing..
Have a manual mk7 gti at the moment. Started a new job so wanted to upgrade, initially was set on golf r dsg but have also been tempted by the m140i. Only thing slightly putting me off is the reviews on the handling especially in UK weather. What would you recommend as I haven’t test driven either car but I feel like I know what to expect from the golf r? Deep down I feel like I’d enjoy the m140i more but not sure I could justify having to load 3k of mods like the lsd and suspension to get it to handle decently?
I got a m140i in March. The handling is fine until you are doing crazy speeds! Then it can become a bit ‘floaty’ and feel disconnected from car. Not bad enough to warrant needing to spend £3,000 on it though
Please do a review on a m340i.
The Xhp on my old 6 speed box made it slip on stage 3. I didn’t think it was great tbh anyway
Absolute weapon ❤
What is meant by “stage 1”?
YO BROS IN WATFORD NAHH JIT TRIPPEN
Is this MHD mapped?
Please do review on Astra gtc vxr
140s gooooone mane
"Oh yes, super crispy!" 😂
On topic, I do enjoy your reviews. Cant go wrong with an M140i, im considering one myself as a practical do it all car, would it be up to the job with a baby?!
A 340i touring is better but if you’re putting a child seat in once then the 140i just fine. Just make sure whichever one you buy fits first.
@ParagonCarsLondon Thanks mate. M340i touring is also on the list (along with many others haha), but they do weigh a fair amount more which loses driver appeal for me.
Never knew how hard it would be finding a car that's suitable for a baby that I'll also enjoy!
I've got one with 2 car seats! Bit tight at times especially if rear facing but now both are front facing no issue whatsoever
@@jordanplatt3916 how about boot space with baby stuff?
@@Chris-nj1mr not the best not the worst you can get a foldable pram in but that's about it 😂 a buggie is far better now my youngest is a bit older
I get 21.9mpg round the streets on my focus st think I need a new car 😂
That's good. I can get as low as 15. My Astra VXR that I used to have would get into the single digits
In my stock 140i I average around 26-7 mpg round the streets and around high 40s on steady motorway cruise 👌🏼
The cat has nothing to do with that engine management light 😂 I've ran a stage 1 M140 and never had an issue with the car. ..
Get a diagnostic done on it and see what the fault codes are it won't be the cat
This one probably has the petrol particulate filter.
It looks like a shoe, 👠
If you ever get the chance, drive one with M sport adaptive suspension. Absolute game changer. Must have option along with HK and Pro Nav.
is adaptive suspension actually comfier than the M Sport one, or does it just allow for comfort suspension with engine in sport and vice versa?
@@Arman-nl6mgin comfort mode almost as comfortable as 3 series SE. In sport/sport+ it’s like a 3 series M Sport.
It's shit, and people code it out when they upgrade to the B8 dampers...
Big up Watford
Have you driven the 2.0 M135i yet? By all accounts, B58 aside, it’s a marked improvement on the road compared to the old car with traction being its trump card. Be good to see an on road opinion of someone who’s savvy with the M140i.
Not yet sadly, hopefully will get to at some point.
You make me wanna buy one now🤣
I got an m140i :) Always wanted one but your reviews gave me more confidence to buy. Love it :) Thank you
Does anyone know if the xhp is worth doing to a stock car? I don't get how it can be better / safer for the transmission? Wouldn't BMW engineers know what's best and have configured it correctly to begin with?
@@koifnen mine is stock and have xHP
@koifnen yes I had mine done when mine was standard and it was like night and day, mine is now pushing 500bhp and the gear change is unreal
Ngl the intro is a bop
what's insurance like?
expensive 🤑
Depends on many factors really, i.e age,how long you’ve had a license, location and claims however for me it’s only £800 a year 👌🏼
@@michaelgibson3010 lucky I was getting quotes 800 a month but I am 18
The idrive 6 only supports carplay and its pretty difficult to get android auto :(
now imagine with hybrid turbos 📈
Another great video, do you know what the XHP gearbox map is, stage 1,2 or 3?
stage 3
Adding more power without handing mods is a waste on mine got MP LSD ,h&R lowing springs , b8 shocks, spacers, under body brace, front strut brace, rear subframe bushing, xhp stage 3 , mhd stage 1, 98 Ron map and it is an absolute weapon on the b roads never gonna sell mine.
its not a waste if you arent hooning it everyday
@@TheJaceyBoy it's not about smashing it is about when you go into a turn you can feel the LSD working with the extra grip and with the bilstein b8 it feels much more planted less role in the chassis even at low speeds. You can use most of the power with LSD with a open diff your losing probably third of the power going to the wheels with the handling mods it just changes the way the car go's and feels simple.
I agree, I’ve had mine for nearly 4 years and only now getting to the point of desiring more power. Hit a corner in these when stock and the car shits itself 😂. I’ve got b6 damptronic (adaptive upgrade) and mildly lowered on eibach springs. Has made a massive difference. Wondering if I need to do the LSD before remapping, I don’t drive it hard all the time it’s my daily car but wondering what do you think?
@@BOSKILLZX I did map mine before install an LSD the problem that I had was that It just moved around too much at the rear with the extra 80 hp so I brought MP LSD from Cotswolds BMW installing myself which is dead easy is just plug and play and it puts down that power so much more efficiently and if the back end does come out is so much easier to control.
Absolutely revolting car
what's so revolting about it 😵💫
@@Arman-nl6mg looks like a hearse, tacky interior, shite wheels and will probably break in the near future.
@@celticfan67 With that engine, i don't care what it looks like. Pretty cars are for girls.
