In reality - You only have to look at it, when you are not riding it
Whilst you don’t have to endure seeing it as you ride, others do. Think of them when you consider buying one, be kind and get something else (an old stock R1250GSA). I imagine that the sniggers of HD riders who can’t believe there is anything uglier on the road than a Pan Am will be heard above their custom exhaust din and clatter of their tractor-like engines.
@@fritzbox5014 Who cares what HD riders think (they are typically/ often just about looks/ vanity & clothing attire, not the performance/ engineering aspects of the motorcycle - Y/ N?)
Instead of redesigning the panniers to match the bike, BMW redesigned the bike to match the luggage rack… 🤣

I have to say, you are absolutely right, that is one ugly bike. I don’t even think its mother could like it! I’m not a massive GS fan, coz I’m a short arse, although I quite liked the look of the red, white and blue 1250 which our Teapot Bruce had. Looking forward to the Bru-time podcast with your good self.

I bought 3 weeks ago a 2023 used triple black with 2k km in it with a higher price than the first owner paid for it new!!!!
at first I was angry because I want it so bad, but after looking to the prices in the market here, now I feel that I'm lucky that I did this great deal, because many have paid same as me for a 45k/50k km and a year older...
between, I'm from Morocco, and since the arrival of the 1300 gs, the prices of the 1250 ADV have gone crazy here, because of the BMW dealer who no longer wanted to bring brand new 1250 GSA to give the new one a chance !!!

@@David-dg4vo Makes sense and of course you will get the useful adaptive suspension and shaft drive. I really loved the appearance, presence, fit & finish and ride of the 900 Pro and didn’t miss my GS 1250 Raylle at all during nearly a 2000 mile tour on my own.
Just watched a bit of the BMW release event video. When the covers came off and the dry ice smoke cleared, it was met with what can only be described as a bit of a 'tumbleweed' moment. Sounded like the audience was literally stunned into silence. The lady presenter left the stage and tried desperately to rouse the crowd, but only managed to elicit a few embarrassingly isolated claps and one or two rather sad yays. Oh, BMW, what have you done?

Yes, I watched that. So amateurish. The CEO of BMW Motorrad - who was way too casual - kept calling the new bike a 'car' and seemed to have no purpose to his presentation. Appalling lighting too, for the staging.

News just in from Berlin…… German Police have arrested BMW Motorrad’s Head of Design who, it transpires is actually an American Citizen ( German Parents ) who is employed by Harley Davidson and was secretly placed at the German Company with the express intention of effing-up the GS’s Iconic designs.

Well done Missenden for being a channel that tells it as you see it. Other channels are mute about the looks so as not to upset the chance of getting a demo.
Well it’s only my opinion - I’m sure some people love it (seems very few though)! I bet it rides great and hope I do get the chance to ride one at some point….
Ducati exhibited the Desert-X prototype at shows and the crowd said, “Please make it”. I don’t think BMW would get the same reaction here. ;-)
I have recently bought a 1250GSA Rallye with some reservation because of the new 1300 coming along soon. What a good decision that was having seen it.
I love the way it looks. Looks just like a blocky video game bike. Futuristic and tough.
Bet it rides well, but holy shit, doesn't the the new Africa Twin suddenly look more appealing.
Meanwhile, over at Ducati , the production manger takes a call from the marketing manager, "Roberto, get ready, you need to ramp up Multistrada production. Sales are about to go through the roof". Over in Hinkley UK, the local wine shops are sold out of champagne as the Triumph management team party long into the night. The production manager has already asked for overtime "boss, I think I am going to be busy".
The UK shoots its entire foot off with Brexit. BMW says "hold my beer".

Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. I kind of like it. The wider tank and general appearance detract from the radar. Can’t wait to see one in person.

@@TheMissendenFlyer I went up to Garmisch this morning, to the BMW Motorrad 2024 event, to see what it looks like in the flesh. The photos don’t do it justice, it looks pretty amazing and was getting a lot of interest at the show. They could have played safe, but didn’t, which has to be a good thing.
I’m with you on the overall looks. The headlight I could live with but the gas tank and forward side panel remind me of our new countertop toaster oven. We really do love our new oven.
TMF please don't hold back in your opinion of it :-) I agree with you entirely and I don't know what universe where this bike would be considered attractive. My eyes are bleeding too :-) I thought the Harley Davidson Pan American was ugly but Motorrad have turned the fugly knob in their design studio to the max and some.

Surely motorcycles in this class are by and large a purchase made for enjoyment not a functional thing like a Volvo Estate car, enjoyment for me os the whole deal, the bike has to make me look back and smile at it as I leave the garage , this will make me turn the lights off before I get to the door, absolutely does NOT make me want to buy one

I’ve owned 9 GS bikes since 2003, have covered many, many miles. My first GS was the 1150 twin spark. I sold my Honda Blackbird to buy my first GS. I got stick from friends, saying it was ugly, especially compared to my Blackbird. The GS has brought me miles of happiness, it’s handling, it’s ability to carry me and pillion and luggage to so many lovely places around Europe. The looks will grow, the smiles with miles brings this to your soul. Every GS has had soul for me. Looks don’t make adventures or memories but everything else with my GS’s has given me so much. Be patient, let the new GSA blossom, the flowers produce fruit! This bike will be very successful, being different makes it special

Based on the picture alone, I would have to agree with you. I was shocked 😮 by the images I saw a few days back. Then I saw LCR’s short video. Even his short video made more sense of what they have done. So I’m some where in the middle. Can’t wait to see it in the flesh. 😁👍

I think the normal 1300 looked a lot better then every upgrade since the original GS. This one however looks like a friggin tank and a tractor had a lovechild!

I did the right thing by buying the last new triple black in the U.K. lol a couple of weeks ago, at least they didnt reduce the tank volume! but CHRIST is it ugly!

I often find that the bikes look better in the flesh than on pictures. Just traded in my 1250GSA so was very interested in the new 1300. Look forward to seeing it in my local BMW dealer in due course.
TBF the NC750 looks bad in any picture yet IRL they look OK
I really wanted to order that new adventure but today all my plans came to an end.
People's perception of styling and what looks good changes dramatically over time. That said, I do wonder if BMW went too far with this one... (personally I actually kind of like it - looks futuristic)
I'd agree with you about looking futuristic, I've seen this new GSA in a movie, "Judge Dredd", of course it could have been a stunt double. :)

I plan to buy one for cheap from the dealer when they can't sell them, clearly they won't sell many, most people are hating on it's looks pretty hard.

This was the Mad Max 2050 movie spec build, right? 🤪 Did BMW hire designers from Lada? Even Leopard tanks look better from the side. Glad I got my Tramuntana. I've grown to like the light. But not the radar module. The GSA is going to get a lot of name calling.
When asked about the looks, the designer said "This ugly goes to 11"

It's a combination of a Lego Project, a Gentec Generator and a Power Washer , WTF were the designers thinking ?? Chopsy walked around one in a video, perhaps up close it may "Grow" on people, but first looks, it's a Mutation

To save costs, BMW swapped human designers for an AI from hell. Judge Dredd would probably buy this machine.

Today I have actually tried using AI to create a GSA cubism / LEGO style image and they were all better looking than BMW’s own designs. I tried all sorts of things but couldn’t get it to draw anything remotely as awful as the 13000GSA. There has been much debate about when AI will surpass human ability and I’d say that AI is now officially better than the Motorrad Motorcycle Design Team. Maybe it’s just a simple mistake and a designer took some of their 4 year old kid’s crayon drawings into the office and someone thought they were the proofed designs? Maybe it’s a belated April Fool (we know BMW love April Fools Day) and they’ll release the real bike soon.

Reminds me of a lego technix model kit. I am so pleased i didnt wait around for this. My initial comments on your GS video Andy were " omg what have they done to the GS" and after four GSAs, I wont be buying another one. The 1250 looks so much better and keeps true to the original concept of the GS platform. OMG i cant look at it anymore, someone pass me a bucket.....

On first looks, I like it. Modern angular lines. Just like the way cars are going, back to mor square edges whilst looking sleek.

An automatic adventure bike... Was it designed by the BMW Scooter department? The fun of riding a motorcycle is mastering the friction zone. Triumph must be overjoyed with this BMW monstrosity.

Oh my! That’s just freaking awesome!! Sorry Andy, I absolutely effing LOVE IT!! It’s got exactly the right amount of Fugly that made us all puke when we first saw the ‘cyclops’ 1150. My problem with the 1300 GS was that it wasn’t gross enough. The front end was neither pretty or ugly, just a bit crap. This thing, however, is gloriously hideous, just like a GS should be!! I think the radar and headlight config actually really suits this bike. I hope everyone hates it so I can snap one up post-depreciation (which I presume will be significant). Someone mentioned the Münch Mammut elsewhere in the comments, and I can definitely see the influence there. Love it love it love it!!! After I’m done with my 12 that’s defo the bike for me. Thanks for the early pics and specs - further evidence that you care about your viewers. Great stuff.
No need to apologize Jez - someone has to love it - as I said, it's a very subjective point (though I do think, judging by the comments, you are likely in a minority!)...
My pausing skills are the stuff of legend. As are many of your videos because you, my friend, have a sense of humor. Those without a sense of humor more often than not display sense of entitlement. This was taught me by my beloved mother many, many, many decades ago and my mom is always right.

I have a 2021 BMW 1250 GSA 40 year edition and love it. For me buying an adventure bike function is iway more important than form - looks. I love the attention to function on the new 2025 1300 GSA. The storage options are awesome! I like storage mounts they have places on the front sides o the bike and the great way they designed the tank bag mount. I think the new transmission options will be great as well. The more I look at the bike from all angles the more I like it. When I am doing long rides across continents both on road and a lot of off road the bike will be so dirty you will not notice the form of the bike but I will sure appreciate all the functionality of the bike. I think in time most will come to love the bike!

I have a 1300GS Tramuntana and it's fantastic. I'm not sure about the 1300GSA looks, but the more I look the more it's growing on me. I've got no need for a GSA so won't be changing, but I'll be honest, if I didn't have the 1300 already, I'd certainly be interested. Agreed, it's something only a mother could love, but in some respects I think that's why it's growing on me, it's so off the wall that it starts to appeal.

I feel like this is how BMW does it. Remember the GS models of the early 2000’s. Big and chunky. But it grew on most over time……maybe this will too???

Absolutely delighted with my 1300 Trophy (and how much easier it is to ride, both on and off-road, than my F850GSA was) and I’m actually shocked at what they’ve come out with for the GSA!…I 100% agree with you and all the smiling 1250 GSA owners :))
I saw this guy describing the GSA1300 like it had a huge BMW keyfob on each side, and I can't unsee that 😅
❤ I like the look. BMW should be congratulated for being bold and fresh. The alternative is to endlessly churn out new models where nothing changes but the color of the graphics.

Definitely keeping my 1200 Multistrada Enduro Pro.
Most of the gizmo’s on the latest generation of Adventure bikes seem to address problems that never existed in the first place.
Each to their own though.
