I have 2, the Saturn packapunch cable and the ps2 packapunch csync cable in the post, there is 2 ways to go about this, crt if you have the room or a Morden tv, if you have a 4K monitor I don’t even think they have rca or scart inputs on them anymore and if you have a 1080p tv you really won’t get the full affect produced as if it was on a crisp crt as the internal upscalers screw things up, I think if you are serious about getting the best from retro consoles you need to get an upscaler, I honestly I think the best is the OSSC, I have a 55inch 4K Samsung tv, I’ve mostly dealt with hd for a long time and I learned the larger the screen size the more diminished the picture quality would get, idk how it does it but the packapunch cable combined with a OSSC even on a large 4K monitor looks astonishing, the 3d games look very clean but the 2d games like sonic 3 on sonic jam looks better then any of the emulated collections, those cables aren’t cheap but if you got a think for pointy and crispy pixels you can’t get better imo however saying that, you do lack light gun support and you just can’t beat the charm of playing on an old crt, also I can’t stand people who invest in a Quality rgb cable and spend £150 on an ossc just to put it in 16:9 that’s sacrilege! Lol
Another thing too, the game gear version of sonic 2 had different boss music, and the balls coming down the hill with the first boss varied in bounce height.
My RGC sega cables plastic has broken a bit at the RGB end. Only had it a few years and not used it much. Not impressed. But it still works 👍🏻. Checkout gamezone Birdroom. He has been getting cables from another supplier and it sounds like they are as good as RGC's (and cheaper!)
@theeveshamgamer That is a shame, have you tried reaching out to RGC / Robert? They might be something they can do to sort it out. I haven't had any issues with mine, but I rarely swap consoles due to lack of space in the gaming room. I will check out Birdroom, but I have picked up a component switcher recently though, so I'll probably be moving the majority to HD Retrovision and RGC component cables.
Another 2 blasts from my past!! Sonic 2 Master System was such an evil game lol, especially trying to get to the green hill zone boss, and master of darkness was epic for it's time too :D And on underground act 3, I always got stuck down there too as a kid lol, took me ages to figure out you could spin dash into the wall.
At the time of writing this I am waiting for Royal Mail to bring me the CSYNC Wii RGB SCART cable I want to also get the GameCube and PlayStation 2 GunCon SCART cables both CSYNC
@@theeveshamgamer I got the cable this afternoon and gotta say they're fantastic but I noticed that Mario Kart Wii Deluxe (a Mario Kart Wii mod) has the screen red it's not unplayable but distracting, probably because it's based off the NTSC version?
Found what that problem was, I needed to set those games (and NTSC games) to force PAL60 if I am using RGB SCART, Official, RGC, some knockoff from Amazon or eBay it's an RGB SCART issue

I have alot of RGC scart cables for various consoles and this really demonstrates the major difference extra clarity and no more jailbars!
