Amazon is like the Gov. They can violate the law but the citizens can’t do the same. Amazon can cancel your loads at any time even if you are at the dock, but you can’t reject loads 😂

Just like the Amazon performance score. They can decrease your points, however much points they feel like, but not raise it the right way. As ROC likes to put it, it's off their own discretion no matter if you go above and beyond communication.

My friend is different in 2023. Even if ROC writes on the trip comment section, "Amazon performance won't be affected." They still off of their discretion can decrease your points even if you go above and beyond of communication. It's petty

I'm pretty sure there's more to the story but remember they're also trying to phase out trucks so they can run their own electric trucks to reduce overhead.
Why are you keeping their trailers.. I work for Amazon If you're keeping their trailers is like you putting freight in their trailers in using them.. That is a no no.. You pick up the load you drop at the door or a spot.. On the relay app for the driver and tell you to pick up empty or another load and delivered somewhere else so I don't understand why you keep in their trailers

Its extremely consistent. Home a lot. Scalable. No waiting for appointment basically 30 min max load unload. Its profitable
@@markealy2188 expect in trucking to an extent you have to be concerned what other drivers are hauling for. if enough drivers haul cheap freight the rates will tank in the market if all drivers would decline loads paying less than 2.00 a mile brokers and shippers wouldn’t have a choice but to raise amount

I don't think it's communication, it's because they're so big, they can have any truck driver(s) at any time, even though they have "small suspensions", they can do whatever they want. It's not that they're picky or hard to deal with, it's all about who else can do it so they can care less.
I just got Suspended yesterday. I had a load picking up in Eastern pa going to newark nj. When I hit start on the app it had me picking up in Florence nj 109 mi away. They Told me they could add or remove loads depending on amazon needs. I told them I wasn't going to deadhead 109 mi when I'm already where I Supposed to start they told me it would count against me monday morning I was suspended. This is what happened when companies get too big.
Wait till they install those trailer light GPS trackers in the their trailers. Your mandatory 30 minute break better not be 32 minutes.
I work for Amazon, biggest no no (aside from keeping a trailer) is a late departure. I’ve seen drivers show up 5+ hours early then get mad when they can’t camp out in the yard to sleep. (We don’t have the room, and I genuinely feel bad having to turn them away.) They come back to pick up their loads, and seen those same drivers hook up to their loads as soon as they get the green light, only to sit there for another 30-40 minutes, “updating” their logbooks (even though their cab has a big ol ELD sticker on it.) Or they claim they need a paper copy of the BOL, even though the relay app has an electronic copy when the load is released to them. Or, they all of a sudden need to use the restroom for a good 20 minutes, even though they’ve been checked in for an hour already.
One dude actually was all set to go, then decided to have lunch right then and there, parked with a loaded trailer on an active dock door, a yard jockey standing by with an empty trailer waiting for this clown to move. Meanwhile, outbound dock is screaming for their trailer because packages are piling up inside.
He was banned that day.
Now, I’m not saying this guy did those things that I mentioned up above, his scores are really high and there’s absolutely no excuse for ROC and DSS to be treating him like this, but it’s been our experience that most of the independent owner operators act as if they are on their own timetable, follow their own rules, and seem to have their own definitions of what on time departure means. 🤷🏽♂️
Anyways, hope he’s able to start getting his loads again, ✌🏽
I can tell you stories on how bad Amazon is towards Independent drivers.
Everyone should be thinking about what Amazon is doing in the very near future. They’re ordering every trailer they can get and they just put in huge orders for tractors that they should start getting soon. It’s a new year and many drivers it’s going to mean a new job!

I've worked with Amazon for 6 years and I know firsthand how difficult they're to work with. Amazon only cares about itself. When you do get in touch with customer service, you'll most likely be talking to a kid straight out of college with no experience in the business which makes conversation useless. You're on time out until they need you again. Remember that.
They do the same thing with Flex!
•Being late = Missed block
•Cancel a route = rejected block
•Deliver to front door and package bandits get to it before customer = undelivered package
•Can’t fit load into your vehicle = you tapped out.

The pay isn’t anything to write home about when you factor in depreciation/maintenance of your vehicle...but schedule is flexible (which lures a lot of folks in).
I got suspended off the app for missing a block about 3 times (being late). 🤷🏾♂️

They have SO much money, driven out competition which means SO much business, and that means they have accrued SO much power. They are (have already?) made themselves indispensable. That translates to being a monopoly. THAT translates to we run the show, not the O/O's who we occassionnally hire. That means, grab the KY drivers and ask them to be nice as they - - - -- - - - - - - - - - you. It's all about money and power. They have it. O/O's don't. SOrry to be so harsh - but it's real. Be safe out there in all this crazy weather.

Just about any brokerage would not tolerate loads being canceled once booked because of a better price.
i say dont reject loads just take it and get a the load delivered and pray that you get the same type but with more pay but I would say if you see a load that pays more but with same route I say let it go don't reject loads just take them as they come in and if you need more drivers to gain that extra juicy one ...but good luck man

I was just suspended for insurance renewal. They pulled and rejected 10 loads and brought my score down to a C+ overnight from A+
My insurance broker turned renewal into them a week prior and they still suspended me. Relay then sends me an email requesting a detailed description on how I am going to prevent rejections in the next 6 weeks.
If you have a first year renew coming up pound the phones making sure they get it done!

You run their app on the phone while running with them, and I do believe some trailers have GPS units , your 30 minutes is fine, they start tripping if you take an hour or more though. Then you have to be there by x hour to stop, but they may have you sit in bobtail for 3 hours for a load that may or may not be canceled

I got suspended from Uber load board for a simple oversight, and even after providing them hard proof and them accepting that proof, it’s been 18 months and they still won’t let me back on. It’s very similar to this mans situation with Amazon. But I’m going back to the load boards and it’s looking like I’m going to have to get a burner phone with a new number just to create a new account. I was making fantastic money with them, using them for probably 90% of my loads without ever being late on either end.

Amazon is on your ass, a lot of owner operators aren't prepared for them as they're not like other shippers/receivers in the trucking industry (Lazy). I see a lot of owner ops broken down in the check-in lane or on the freeway with amazon trailers. That's a big no-no as I need my amazon packages delivered the same day or next lol. But no joke that's the kind of demand they're dealing with.

First, you call your insurance and request the following- commercial general liability not less than 1,000,000-
2,000,000 in the aggregate.
Auto liability-not less than 1,000,000 per occurrence- trailer replacement coverage of $40,000-50,000. Cargo coverage of at least 100,000. Employer liability not less than 100,000 per occurrence. Workers comp only if you will have more than one driver. Or you can call an insurance agent who’s familiar with creating accounts for drivers with Amazon.
I just got accepted. You can go to Amazon relay, look for requirements and it should have the list. Also, what many won’t tell you is, once you start your process, you can check with fmcsa, go to their site and check for the update or call their number. It’s important to register your insurance with fmcsa so the process is not delayed.
